Aurora’s POV

A sharp pain pulsed at the back of my skull. My eyes fluttered open, the world spinning around me.

The faint smell of Rylan's cologne filled the air. Then the low hum of an engine made me realize where I was.

I blinked again, this time the shapes cleared. I was lying on the passenger seat of Rylan’s car. The city lights outside streaked past the windows like comets.

I turned to see Rylan by my side unbuttoning his shirt. My throat was dry. “Rylan?” I whispered, my voice barely audible.

He glanced at me, his expression tense, his jaw hard. One hand gripping his trousers. The other was tugging at the collar of his shirt, like he was suffocating under his own thoughts. His tie lay discarded on the floor.

He didn't make a sign to me, his eyes darting around making me nervous.

I tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness forced me back. “What happened? What is wrong with you?”

The memory hit me in fragments* the wine, the mocking voices, the locked door, the masked man. I shive

Rylan’s POVShe turned to me, her eyes bloodshot from.anger. “What have you done?” and she slapped me in public. Her eyes were wild, bloodshot, furious, unrecognizable. All that cold composure she wore like armor was gone. “What have you done?” she spat, her voice trembling with rage.Gasps erupted around us.I stood there, my jaw clenched, the side of my face stinging. Cameras flashed again, because humiliation was always best under bright lights. She raised her hands again to slap me but Asher held her hand and pushed her.“Don’t,” he said quietly, his voice low and hard. His grip was firm but not cruel. The message was clear, he had tolerated her enough for my sake.Raine’s chest rose and fell heavily. “You dare ... .Rylan this is your Assistant right? Disrespecting your mother in…” she began, but she was interrupted by a sharp voice cutting across the room.“Raine!”Everyone turned.Silver’s mother- Sofi and also Raine’s younger sister pushed through the crowd, her heels clackin

  • Marriage of Deceit   Illicit RELATIONSHIP

Aurora POVI opened my eyes immediately as he left the car, my cheeks flushed red. I touched them to cool it down. My back hurts so much. My legs felt heavy like they were split apart in yoga.Seeing Rylan awake, I could open my eyes to face him.I had mixed feelings of happiness, fear, and shame. I was ashamed of what happened between us.And I was scared that what just happened would change the direction of our relationship.I put on my dress and sipped it. I hid my bra under my butt sitting on it. My perfectly arranged hair earlier was now like a mad woman. My makeup was smudged and lipstick all over my mouth. I wondered how Rylan would look if I was like this. For a minute, the fact that Rylan could talk came back to me. When did he start talking? I thought they said he was mute from 6 years old. So all this while I mocked him, he could speak but kept it from me. I felt ashamed for what I said to him at the hospital.I raised my hands and looked at the little cut on my finger. I

  • Marriage of Deceit   AN ACT OR REAL

One Hour Earlier — Rylan’s POVI suddenly felt my vision blurring, my eyes became harder to open. I staggered but I held the table at my front to steady myself. I hit my head with my hand, “What is happening? Why am I dizzy? Was it the anger of Raine's declaration?” I shook my head continuously but it wasn't getting better. Everyone around me turned to small dwarfs wearing flashy clothes of different colors. I turned around to find Asher or Aurora, but my vision was too blurry to find them. One of the dwarfs I was seeing touched my arms, “Sir Rylan Are you okay? Let me take you to your room to rest.”The party was louder than I liked.Crystal glasses chimed, laughter rippled across the marble hall, and the low hum of ambition filled the air like perfume. The air suffocated me more, my bead was banging from the headache. I couldn't understand what was happening or about to happen.I tried to recall what I drank earlier. It wasn’t just the sharp sweetness of wine there was a faint

  • Marriage of Deceit   Darkness!!

Aurora’s POV I forced my lips into a polite smile as I crossed the ballroom, the hem of my ivory gown whispering against the floor. Rylan was still caught up with the investors, his hand firmly on my hands when he had signed for me to behave. Behave, as if I was some child who didn’t know her place. Fine. I would play the role of the dutiful wife!! The cluster of women near the corner caught my eye as Raine told me to go meet them. Rylan’s cousins, some investors’ wives, and right in the middle, Silver and Orla. Their laughter was high-pitched, the kind of sound that carried just enough malice to sting. I hesitated for a heartbeat, but my pride wouldn’t let me turn away. So I walked toward them, lifting my chin, pretending not to notice the way their eyes lit up at the sight of me. “Well, well,” Silver’s voice slid through the air like venom. “If it isn’t Mrs. Blackwood herself. I was beginning to wonder if you would actually dare to show your face tonight. This disaster destro

Rylan POV“Sir Rylan, I think this is best for her. Dark red will suit you and her.” Liam suggested, as he held Aurora's dress.“No, Liam. I want something classy. Give me something not too skin revealing.” I said, and flinged the dress he gave me.His face turned sour, “Rylan!! You are crazy!! If not, you are my friend. Do you think you can boss around a top designer like me!! People waiting for me to pick a dress will line up to France!! ” He barked. As he turned away angrily.“Aurora has body scars on her back. So revealing clothes is a bad idea.“Don't you trust my magic? I will cover it up with makeup.” He said, trying to reassure me.I stood in front of the tall wardrobe, running my hand over the line of evening dresses carefully picked by Liam earlier. Most of them were too flashy, not like Aurora's calmness. I wanted her to stand out, yes, but not in a way that would turn her into an easy target for whispers. My fingers stopped on a sleek ivory dress, elegant but simple, the k
