Scandal

JUSTIN'S POV

"Boss, I think someone may have spiked your drink last night." I heard Noah's voice over the phone.

"You think?! What the hell happened? I suddenly find some lady in my bed and then the paparazzi show up?!!" I asked, my voice fuming.

"Well it's already all over the news and I'm checking the camera footage of last night."

"Be here with some answers when you're done."

"Oh I wouldn't want to interrupt you and your… lover." He said and I knew he must be smirking over the phone.

"Noah!" I yelled and with a chuckle, he cut the call.

I and Noah were best friends. While I was the silent type, he was the talkative and funny type, he was also my assistant. Our friendship was the only reason he could mess with me.

I stepped back into the room to see the gorgeous lady gone. Although she was beautiful, I despise people like her, people that are shameless enough to use others for fame and lie about it later on. I wonder how she did it, to get me in bed with her, but she did it.

I put on some sweatpants and a shirt and I heard a knock on the door some minutes later.

"Noah." I called and I opened the door wider for him to come in but he peeped around before walking in.

"I just wanted to make sure you two were done with your fun, so I wouldn't see anything I didn't want to…" he said as he sat on the couch.

"Shut up." I said and he laughed, I took a seat opposite him and asked, "so what's the answer to all of this?"

"Amelia." He answered and I raised a brow, "she made the bartender put some aphrodisiac in your drink and got a staff card to enter your room."

"So why did some other lady end up in my bed?"

"She must have gotten mixed up in all of these, she was supposed to clean the room and she ran off when you came but for some reason she came back and you dragged her in. Amelia drank some aphrodisiac too and pounced on her bodyguard who was supposed to direct her to your room, rest is history." He said as he leaned back on the couch.

"Amelia dared to play that card on me." I angrily said.

"I'm surprised it worked, you know how many people have tried that."

"I let my guard down today, work was hectic."

"Well at least karma bit her ass, she's all over the news too." He said and my phone rang in my pants pocket.

I got up to leave the room to pick up the call. It was my father, I was in for some yelling right now.

"Justin! Do you know that you're all over the news right now?! Why did you get yourself involved with some maid?!! Do you know how this scandal is affecting us right now?! The hotel's investors are dropping like flies!" He screamed.

"Jonathan…" I normally call my father after his name, "I understand what's going on right now but I'm going to-" he interrupted me.

"Fix it before your grandfather gets wind of it!" He screamed and cut off the call.

"Damn it!" I cursed as I almost threw the phone across the room.

"Bad idea…" I heard Noah's voice from behind me and I turned to him.

"We have to fix this." I said.

"Do you think I don't already know that?"

"Before it gets to my grandfather." I completed it.

"You need to calm down, before you shit yourself for an old man." He said and I directed my glare to him, "okay, okay, don't kill me. We'll cover it up."

"Fire those reporters! Sue their media houses! Cover it up, say it's fake news or something…" I said, "I need this done in an hour."

"Why do you always bring up more work for me?" He asked with a sigh and pushed his hand into his pocket to retrieve his phone, "I'll have it done in half an hour."

I released a sigh of relief before my phone rang again, I looked at the caller ID before muttering, "shit! My grandfather…" and I picked up the call and put it to my ear.

"Justin…" his calm voice called my name over the line.

"Grandfather…" I said the exact way his voice was calm and void of emotion. I knew when having business with people like him, I would have to put on my poker face and not let them know my next move.

"What is this I'm hearing about you and a maid on the news?" He asked.

"It's just a minor problem, I'm handling it."

"First we all thought you were gay and now you're loose?"

"I said I'm handling it."

"Come home, we have something to discuss." He cut off the call and I turned to Noah who was still on the phone, he had his brows raised for an order.

"Take care of everything, I'm going home, I have some things to take care of." I walked past him.

My family's mansion was a place I never wanted to return to. The last time I had been here was when I had been told I was going to get married to Amelia, yet here I am, standing in front of it.

The mansion was a messed up place. A warzone, a house more than it was a home, where you had to be the best competitor to survive. All the retired members of the Smith live here, my grandfather, parents, uncles and aunts.

I headed to my grandfather's quarters since I didn't want to deal with my parents right now.

I found him in the living room, sipping on some tea as he stared at the door, so as I stepped in, he had his eyes glued on me.

My grandfather was a creepy old man, everything he did could scare a normal man. I think the only person who could tolerate him was my grandmother but she's dead, no one else could stand him so he remained unmarried.

"You're quite fast." He said as I sat opposite him and he passed me a smile, "you've always been the one to take my instructions most seriously." My face remained blank.

"What did you want to discuss?"

"The current situation." He sat upright and his face was on business mode, "I know I had said the Robertson's girl was the best suitor for you but she's gotten herself in a tangled situation, everyone thinks she's loose and she admitted to wanting to sleep with you, the world takes her as a gold digger now, that news remains permanent."

"What are you hinting at?"

"You can't get married to her, her reputation is scarred, just last week she was caught with that old film producer and just when I covered it up, this one hits… she's got too many scandals, we'll have to find another girl for you."

"Who is it this time?"

"The Wilson family's daughter."

"But-" his phone's buzz interrupted.

"Hold on." He said and got his glasses before picking up his phone, he suddenly started laughing, "JUSTIN SMITH ACCUSED OF RAPE." He read out.

"What?" I asked but he only went on laughing.

"The media nowadays…" he laughed, "they just bring up crazy stor-" he then started coughing, I remained unfazed and in some minutes his coughing had turned into a smile, "you know me so well."

"Grandfather, I can handle the news myself, I'll meet up with the Wilson's family's daughter."

I had already accepted my fate as getting married to whoever my grandfather chooses. If he could make my hard headed father get married to who he chose then he could make anyone do what he wanted. Even after getting married, I would let the unfortunate wife know not to expect any tenderness from me, everything was business, nothing more.

"No, you'll get married to that maid."

"What?"

"It would bring all the scandals down and you would say you fell in love with her at first sight, it would bring back the investors and build up the family's reputation, the media all think I'm a controlling freak, you know when your cousin exposed me to fight for his love, that stinky brat! Anyways, you'll say I let you pursue your love and everything is settled."

"But grandfather-"

"Are you trying to go against me Justin?" His voice was calm and low.

"I'm just saying, getting married to a miad wouldn't bring any benefits, it'll-" he interrupted again.

"You're getting married to her, you can leave now." He said and picked up his cup of tea to go on sipping.

I made my way outside, I would never get married to a maid, never! Even if it meant going against my grandfather.
