Chapter 6: Ann Oliver

Standing outside a door, I could still hear the commotion inside. This situation was not too surprising, but the noise was loud enough to startle anyone.

I turned to look at the servant standing in front of the door with an awkward expression. The shouting from inside made him unsure whether he should open the door for me or not.

“Open it.”

The butler standing behind spoke up to remind the servant, startling him as he hurriedly opened the door.

When I turned my head to look back, he simply smiled and gestured inside.

“Please, go in.”

Clearly, he knew the situation inside was chaotic, yet he had no intention of entering with me or announcing my presence at this moment. It seemed he did not mind letting me watch the play unfolding inside, or perhaps he even hoped that I would witness it.

I stepped into the house. Immediately, a glass was thrown and shattered right in front of my feet.

“Crash!!!”

A shard of glass flew out, grazing my leg and leaving a long cut. Blood welled up and ran down my leg onto the floor.

So it was Ann Oliver who was angrily throwing things around the room.

I frowned and remarked.

“How pathetic!”

Ann Oliver was indeed just as I remembered, acting foolishly and impulsively. But her foolishness appeared cute and endearing in the eyes of those who shared my blood.

I still remembered how much hope I carried when I first stepped into this house. When I learned that I had two older brothers and an adopted younger sister, I had been looking forward to meeting that younger sister.

I had dreamed that the two of us could go shopping together, share secrets, and talk about private things.

But everything had gone against what I imagined.

Ann Oliver had never seen me as her sister.

Yet in the eyes of my blood relatives, her actions were nothing more than childish behavior out of fear of losing their love.

Because of their indulgence, Ann Oliver felt completely free to look down on my existence.

Look at this. Right now, they were only busy chasing after her to comfort her, not caring at all about a stranger like me.

After turning the room upside down, Ann Oliver burst into tears, looking utterly pitiful.

“Now that you’ve brought your biological daughter back, are you going to abandon me? I knew it, I’m just someone unnecessary in this house! I don’t want her to come back, you will definitely stop loving me!”

Oh please. Anyone who didn’t know better would think Ann Oliver was an outstanding Hollywood actress!

I found it amusing, watching this deeply emotional family drama unfolding before my eyes.

My two biological brothers rushed forward to hug Ann and comfort her in gentle voices.

“No, don’t say such nonsense! Our only sister will always be you, only you.”

“That’s right. I can swear to you that we will never make you sad. We will only love you, and you alone.”

Hearing this only made me laugh more.

Their biological sister had been lost outside, her life or death unknown, yet these two brothers could still say that they had no other sister besides Ann. Even wolves knew how to stay with their pack, yet these people could be so heartless toward their own blood.

What a pity that I had once tried everything to earn the love of these two brothers.

The more this play went on, the more ridiculous it became. I leisurely toyed with a strand of my hair and thought to myself.

“Should I step into this family drama or not?”

Thinking back to my previous life, the moment I stepped in, a shard of glass pierced my foot, causing me to panic and scream. Back then, everyone’s attention had turned toward me, and only then did my parents and those two brothers approach me, welcoming me with falsely affectionate expressions.

Now that I thought about it, I had truly been foolish back then.

From the moment I entered, there had only been a single servant waiting, and there was no sign of a warm welcome. They had said over and over that my parents had been longing for me day and night, yet when they finally found their daughter, they did not even bother to wait at the door.

Was this what they called longing day and night?

Ann Oliver was the same. She deliberately staged a dramatic tantrum to attract everyone’s attention on the very day I returned. It was only later that I realized she had intentionally chosen this moment so I would witness everything.

She wanted me to understand my place the moment I stepped into the house. It was Ann Oliver’s opening strike against me.

In this house, not a single person truly cared about my arrival today.

I shook my head and laughed helplessly.

“In my previous life, I was in too much of a hurry and didn’t get to properly watch this family drama. What a pity. This kind of plot is just as entertaining as a famous movie.”

I glanced at the clock. More than ten minutes had already passed, so I couldn’t just stand here watching any longer.

Since someone had already set the stage, I might as well cooperate and perform a play for Ann Oliver.

I deliberately stepped hard onto the floor to create a loud sound. Only then did the Oliver family snap out of it and turn to look at me with surprised expressions.

Chapter 168: “Why...? Mom...?”Turning back time, while Ella was on her side preparing a plan of action, at the same moment in the villa, Lilya and Ryan were sitting by the window, bored out of their minds as they stared outside.Lilya let out a sigh, resting her chin on the windowsill as she complained to Ryan.“Ryan, I’m so bored! Can’t we go outside and play?”Ryan was sitting nearby reading a book and drinking tea. Hearing Lilya complain, he set the book down and walked over to sit beside her.“Can’t you see it’s raining outside? We can’t go out.”Lilya sighed again, using her finger to draw a few circles on the window. The rain outside was growing heavier and heavier. The entire atmosphere inside the villa had sunk into a silence so deep that it became dull.Ryan looked at Lilya helplessly before standing up.“Do you want some cake? I’ll find something to do so we won’t be so bored.”Without waiting for Lilya’s answer, Ryan brought her a plate of pastries and a glass of juice. Li

Chapter 167: Setting the TrapI frowned, about to ask Nolan what exactly he meant, when an image of the twins suddenly flashed through my mind.Nolan looked at me and laughed like a madman. His eyes were fixed on me, as though he was already certain of victory.I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists, asking through gritted teeth,"Nolan, explain yourself clearly!"Nolan chuckled. He let out a satisfied breath and casually replied,"Let's see. Between dozens of lives and two lives, that's a pretty difficult choice, isn't it?"I was instantly consumed by rage, feeling the blood rush straight to my head.So this Nolan was even more insane than I had imagined. He had actually reached out toward the twins. He had truly chosen a path from which there was no turning back. The Oliver family had fled overseas in such a hurry because they knew they wouldn't survive in this city after laying their hands on the Dominic family. What a bunch of arrogant bastards.I glanced at Lina and Anessa. Chapter 166: It Still Wasn't Over YetI stood up and coldly looked down at Nolan as he struggled to break free. I had thought I would feel happy seeing him fail, but apparently that wasn't the case. The emotions inside me were difficult to describe."How pathetic."Nolan flinched and glared at me. I merely sighed and said quietly,"The outcome today is the result of all your choices. Nolan, you and your family should never have come looking for me."I turned and walked away. That was right. The Oliver family should never have searched for their lost daughter, me. If they weren't prepared to accept me, they should have left me forgotten and out of their lives. For a long time, I resented them for never coming to find me. I was terrified of the thought that I had been an abandoned child. But later, that resentment changed into something else. Why had they come looking for me when they had never been willing to give me even the slightest bit of love? The relationship between us was like

Chapter 165: The Capture of Nolan OliverI shook my head, arrogantly raising a finger to my lips to signal him to be quiet as I spoke softly."Oh my, don't scream like a lunatic. Calm down. You've already hit me where it hurts, so what's the point of complaining about old matters?"Nolan gritted his teeth, his face twisted with rage as though he was only a step away from lunging at me and tearing me apart. If I hadn't transferred the money yet, he probably wouldn't have been trying so hard to stand there and stay calm.Although I wore a composed smile on the surface, sweat had nearly soaked through the back of my shirt. Inside, I was trembling with fear. I clenched my shaking fists and tried to encourage myself."Come on, you can do this!"What I was doing now was a reckless act that could put my life at risk, but it was also the best way to draw Nolan's attention. At this point, all I could do was silently pray that everything was going smoothly and safely on Lina's side.Nolan looke

Chapter 164: Bomb!I glanced toward my bodyguard. He gave a slight nod, a signal that Lina's side had begun moving. A trace of unease stirred in my heart. I wondered how things were progressing over there. It would probably take some time for Lina's team to get inside and rescue the hostages. There were quite a lot of them, so moving everyone out would take a considerable amount of time. That meant the only thing I could do right now was stall for time and keep Nolan from paying attention to what was happening inside the warehouse.I raised an eyebrow. Let's see, what kind of conversation would actually interest him?Nolan glanced at me and finally spoke first, his patience clearly wearing thin."Ella, stop dragging this out. You don't want to see my face any more than I want to see yours, so there's no reason for us to stand here making things awkward."I chuckled softly. He was probably itching to get his hands on that huge sum of money already.Rubbing my temple, I put on an annoye

They tightened their grip on their weapons and moved to shield me. But I knew these thugs were nothing more than muscle-headed mercenaries hired by Nolan.Without Nolan's orders, no matter how much I provoked them, they would not open fire. After all, this was not some barbaric era. A few shots fired would earn them a lifetime behind bars.I smiled, placed a hand on one of the bodyguards' shoulders, and signaled for him not to be so tense. Then I walked past them and stopped in front of the two mercenaries."I already told you to calm down. Making everything more tense isn't a good choice."The two men looked at each other an
