"Now I'm here.

That should tell you that I'm safe. I guess it's time for you to leave," Kelly ordered. And when Ciara refused to pay attention to him, he leaned forward, trying to make her stand up.

 "Dad, please stop doing this.

You're embarrassing yourself, and it's not even funny," She struggled to pull Kelly away.

"Embarrassing myself?

For crying out loud, I'm trying to keep you safe,"

"Keep me safe by sending me into the dark? I guess you meant to say, endangering my life because that's what it seems right now. You just said it yourself that it's pretty late. How do you expect to find my way home?" Ciara argued. It was starting to seem like a fierce battle until George stepped in to separate the Father and daughter.

He hasn't said a word since Kelly walked inside. It's almost like George wasn't inside.

George cleared his throat to announce his presence. "Like seriously, Kelly. Do you realize I am here? Or did you just decide to ignore me as though I don't even exist? I tried my best to stay calm and see if you would speak to me, but you never did. Have I suddenly become so small that you can't recognize me?"

"Accept my apologies, George.

To be honest with you, I wasn't looking in your direction because I was upset at Ciara. Can you imagine what she just did?" Kelly apologized, at the same time lamenting bitterly to George about Ciara's attitude.

"What do you suggest I do now?

Are you even listening to yourself right now? I got my issues and you want to bother me with yours? Who does that?"

George bemoaned. His involvement in the interception was Ciara's saving Grace. Else, Kelly was prepared to walk Ciara to the road and board a cab home.

"Where's my son?

Why isn't he here with you?

I don't want to believe that you failed to convince him to come to the hospital with you?" George asked, hitting the nail on the head.

He wasn't bothered about the altercation between Kelly and Ciara. All he cared about was finding out if Dexter had signed the damn signature.

"I was able to convince Dexter to come to the hospital with me," Kelly explained without actually hitting the nail on the head. He paused and waited for George to ask the next question.

As expected, George drew his ears closer. "And? I don't want to believe that was all that happened. You claimed that Dexter came with you. Why can't I see him?"

"He left after signing the consent form," Kelly finally explained.

"He did what?"

George tossed off the bed.

"Why would you let him leave?

Didn't you show him to my ward?" George cried with a loud voice.

"Don't be mad at Kelly.

He did his best." A voice spoke behind, which was accompanied by the arrival of Doctor Escobar.

"Doctor Escobar?

How long have you been standing outside listening to our conversation?"

George was astonished. The look on his face best tells it all.

"Long enough to know that your son needs some real tutoring. Is he always like that?" Doctor Escobar dropped the coldest response ever. He wasn't bothered whether George would find it offensive or not.

He was determined to speak the truth because he knew that was the only time they got to have such a discussion.

"You don't speak about my son that way in front of me. Come on, Doctor. Show some respect," George demanded.

"There we go again.

That's precisely what I was talking about. You still had the guts to protect and support your son after he abandoned you in the hospital? That's the most ridiculous thing I've witnessed from anyone," Escobar smirked.

He utilized the opportunity to pour out his heart to George without leaving any stone unturned.

"Okay. That's enough!

I don't want you two fighting like kids.

We are here for a reason, and I demand we focus on that," like a leader, Kelly called for peace.

Focusing his gaze on Doctor Escobar, Kelly added. "As a doctor, you have to prioritize the health of your patient. Unfortunately, you keep worsening it. What kind of doctor are you?"

"Criticizing accepted.

Do I need to remind you that as a doctor, I have to advise my patients on issues regarding their health? Why do I have a feeling that Dexter was the cause of his father's heart attack? From what I witnessed from him today, he might as well do worse. That boy isn't done yet. And this time, George might not be lucky," Doctor Escobar spoke tirelessly as they all listened endlessly.

He was the last to speak as a knock on the door interrupted the heated argument.

They all paused and wondered who would knock on the door of a hospital.

"Who's that?

Come inside!

You don't have to knock," Doctor Escobar said. Absolute stillness enclosed the atmosphere like a graveyard.

Despite Doctor Escobar's approval, no one showed up. This single act from the stranger created tension in the minds of everyone as they wondered who could have been responsible for pulling that stunt on them when they were still tackling the menace of Dexter.

"I have got to check who's at the door," Ciara volunteered herself and stood up.

"Stop right there

Where do you think you're heading to?" Kelly stopped Ciara as she was about to go check who knocked.

"What does it seem like I am doing, Dad? Of course, I want to go find out who's knocking at the door. Don't you dare stop me because I won't listen to you," Ciara clapped back at Kelly.

Attempting to stop Ciara.

But unfortunately for him, she was too fast. Ciara already knew Kelly's next move before he even thought about it.

Approaching the doorway, Ciara went mute after seeing who was behind the mysterious knocks. Her lips were glued. She wasn't able to move them.

"What's the problem?" Kelly asked with curiosity. She kept him silent for the numerous times he asked her.

"I can't do this anymore

I have got to go find out what's stopping you from speaking," Kelly said. He couldn't endure Ciara's treatment anymore.

"What are you scared of? I don't bite. Come on, take the envelope from me and stop acting like a baby already. An officer like you shouldn't be fidgeting. Have you forgotten what I told you about being courageous? You never can tell, it might be your letter of promotion," Lucas said. Romeo saw that as a trick and refused to fall for it. Without hesitation, he went on his knees immediately and pleaded for Lucas forgiveness. "I am sorry for the things I did to you. None of them were intentional. I've learned my lessons now. Please, I don't want to end up like Tony. I deserve a second chance,"The dismissal of Tony still lives rent-free in Romeo's head like a movie. He wouldn't want his situation to be like that. "You don't want to end up like Tony, right? That's quite ambitious if you ask me," Lucas scoffed."I don't know what you are talking about. I can't recall what happened to Tony. Can you please remind me?" "You dismissed him because of Dexter Cooper, sir. Not just that, he als

"He needs to reach out to his Father. His Father is not even aware that he's been arrested," Romeo pleaded. He was ready to scrub both knees on the tiled floor just to prove how serious he was. "Now this is getting more serious than I expected. How much did Dexter pay you to do this for him? Because I mean, you can't go this for a total stranger you know nothing about," Rhoda confronted Romeo with the disturbing question."Excuse me?" Romeo fumed. "What do you take me for? Do you think I'm one of those hungry-looking cops out there who would sell their dignity for money?" "Perhaps, she might be right. No one knows the reason you are doing this," A masculine voice interrupted them from close range. The voice sounded like Lucas. Where Romeo was, he prayed silently and wished it wasn't Lucas. Lucas, so far, has proved to be Romeo's greatest fear ever. He wasn't even confident enough to look into Lucas' eyes and speak to him directly, let alone confront him. "Good evening, Boss. You ar

  • Married To My Enemy; Loved By His Brother   The Dialogue

"I am listening to you Romeo. Since you got here, you haven't said anything worthy of my attention. I just hope I am not wasting my time with you? Because I was doing something significant before you showed up," Rhoda raised the concern. What Rhoda was concerned about was Romeo's lack of confidence. She didn't know him to be this shaky to the extent where he could barely speak fluently to save his life."Of course not. I assure you, you're not gonna regret having this conversation with me, and I am not even kidding," Romeo created the assurance. He paused afterward. Rhoda signaled him to speak further, but he missed the sign. Romeo made it seem like that both placed a bet on the last person to hold his breath for too long."What the fuck do you think you are doing? You've been quiet for some time now. I should have known that you were just wasting my time. What exactly do you want me to do for you? And I do hope it's something I can handle?" Rhoda asked for clarification. Romeo's a

Dexter struggled to keep up with Romeo's tempo. At the same time, he struggled to breathe properly. He hasn't seen anything like that before. The taunting from Romeo got into Dexter's head. But what was he going to do about it? Absolutely nothing! He was willing to endure the present struggle and hope for a better tomorrow. Dexter was quite aware of his numerous tortures in the hands of Jaguar and would rather not go back to that phase anymore. No one has ever inflicted so much pain on Dexter before since he was born. Not even his beloved Father or late mother.Jaguar treated Dexter as though Dexter were his biological son. It was an ugly experience for Dexter. He would give up an arm to forget about it. "Take a look at these bunch of keys. What do they mean to you? Do they ring a bell to you, or do you want me to spell it out so you would understand perfectly well what I am talking about?" Romeo asked, flashing the keys to the cell across Dexter's face. "They're the keys to y

  • Married To My Enemy; Loved By His Brother   Change Of Discomfort

"Welcome to your new cell, Dexter Cooper. I hope you do like it here. What the heck am I saying? Surely, are going to love it. I mean, it's surely better than your Father's palatial mansion, isn't it?" Romeo teased Dexter with a burst of wicked laughter after they arrived at a new cell. Looking at it alone, Dexter hated it. He chose not to say a word about it to avoid getting on Romeo's nerves. . It turns out that the former cell was more attractive and conducive than the new one Romeo brought Dexter to. The only difference there was Jaguar and his boys that made life a living hell for Dexter. Dexter spent lots of time scrutinizing in his new home. He was filled with regret and wished he hadn't wished for a transfer. But the thought of being beaten to death by Jaguar still scares him to death. "What are you going to say about this? You are taking too much time on something that isn't even worth that stress, and I don't like it. Are we going to spend the entire day talking about

"What do you expect me to do about this now? I still can't believe that are seriously seeking for my help. Everything is still a dream to me. Someone should please wake me up from the illusion before I go insane," Romeo said, slapping his chin to be certain he wasn't imagining things that aren't real. He still wasn't convinced about his decision yet. If Romeo was made to decide immediately without thinking about it, he would chose to walk away from the case just like every other cops. Not for once did Romeo liked Dexter. These two has got a lot of history together. Thinking about the nastiest things that Dexter had done in the past is making Romeo have a second guess. "Please, take me to a new cell. I might end up dead once you leave. These guys are threatened to torture me to death. Please come to my rescue. I don't wanna die," Dexter pleaded as hot tears rolled down his eyes. "You wanna be transferred to another cell? Now I see why you're being dealt with. What have you been
