Dexter couldn't go home after the huge embarrassment he received from Kelly. He lingered around the hospital, hoping that Doctor Escobar would step outside so he could have a deep conversation with him.
It was quite unlike Dexter.
Gone were the days when Dexter usually walked out after any embarrassment situation. But this day, surprisingly, Dexter decided that he would stay back until he's allowed to speak with George, his father.
"Now I know what it feels like to be kicked away like a nobody. I did the same thing to Derek last night even when I shouldn't have. I guess he's feeling the same way right now," Dexter said to himself as he regretted his actions towards Derek the previous night when Derek requested to speak with George. He had no idea that the same fate awaited him ahead. At that point, Dexter was tempted to apologize to Derek immediately.
"Perhaps I should go back home and end this torment. How long do I have to keep waiting to be granted access to my father's ward? Is this a reward for my unruly behavior towards my father? It has been destined that I may not see my father today until he gets discharged," Dexter soliloquizes. He became sick and tired of waiting for Doctor Escobar to show up.
Just when he was about to leave, a thought crossed his head, forcing him to react immediately. "I ought to know the road to his office. I've been there before. Locating it won't be difficult for me. Once I speak with Doctor Escobar, I think it will be easier for me to see my father. Not even Kelly can stop me." Like a puzzle, Dexter racked his head to sort for a solution to his problem. Alas, he found one.
Majestically, he sauntered to Doctor Escobar's office according to the route he remembered.
On the verge of landing a knock on Escobar's door, Dexter hesitates. He suddenly recalled what happened the last time he was at Escobar's office.
"Doctor Escobar's office is not an option. I have to erase that completely from my head. I did him dirty.
Our last encounter surely didn't start on the right path. Neither did it end well for both parties. I doubt if he would ever want to have anything to do with me again," Dexter doubted himself. Deep down, he knew he was making one of the biggest mistakes of his life.
Dexter hasn't been this nervous before in all his life. It was as though there was a masquerade in front of Doctor Escobar's office that scared the living daylights out of him.
Still thinking of what to do, Doctor Escobar emerged from nowhere and stunned Dexter. "You again? What are you doing in front of my office? Did you come here to fight me? We all know you don't give a fuck about your father. I dare you start speaking now before I lose It completely."
Dexter edged backwards and sighed. It didn't seem like he wanted to make trouble. In normal circumstances, he would have retaliated or yelled back at Doctor Escobar. Due to what he wanted to achieve, he decided to reveal his dark side.
"I understand your rage, and I am not going to kick against it for real. Just to set the record straight, I am not here to make trouble with you or bring down the building of the hospital.
I just want to have a decent conversation with you. Can we please go inside your office and talk like men?" Dexter pleaded.
Doctor Escobar looked behind him. "Are you talking to me?"
"Of course I am talking to you." Dexter fumed. Minutes after raising his voice at Doctor Escobar, he realized he was mistaken.
"I apologize for raising my voice at you.
Trust me, it wasn't my intention. I just want to talk. I know it must be a bit difficult due to our differences," Dexter added. He sounded pitiful and remorseful. It was enough sign that Dexter might have changed for good.
"How am I certain you're here to start another fight with me? This looks too strange to be true," Doctor Escobar doubted Dexter after taking his time to observe Dexter.
Confused, Dexter glared at himself as though he were oozing. "Is there a problem? To answer your question, I am very intentional about this. I have no reason to lie to you."
"I'm going to give you this one chance.
If you dare mess it up, you won't be allowed into this hospital regardless of what your father says. Do we have a deal?" With seriousness in his face, Doctor Escobar issued the last warning to Dexter. He maintained a straight face to prove that he wasn't kidding.
"You have my word.
I promise not to get on your nerves," Dexter assured.
"Follow me to my office,"
Doctor Escobar consented. He still wasn't smiling with Dexter despite reaching an agreement with him.
"Stay seated," Doctor Escobar urged Dexter.
Before Dexter has the opportunity to speak, Doctor Escobar tosses yet another condition to him. "You've got a few minutes to state your reason for being here. Just so you know, I am not crazy about you."
"What's Kelly's relationship with my father?" Dexter hit the nail on the head. He had no plans of starting the conversation that way, but due to how Doctor Escobar mounted the pressure on him, he had no choice but to speak up immediately.
His lips trembled too.
It was damn obvious that he wasn't even aware when the question emerged from his mouth.
"Is this what you came here for?
To discuss irrelevant issues with me?" Doctor Escobar barked and slammed the desk angrily.
As though that weren't enough, he stood up and ordered Dexter out of his office. "I would rather not set my eyes on you ever again. I should have known that this was what you wanted to discuss with me. I gave you a second chance to turn things around, but what did you do? You bottled it like a fucking loser."
"What are you scared of? I don't bite. Come on, take the envelope from me and stop acting like a baby already. An officer like you shouldn't be fidgeting. Have you forgotten what I told you about being courageous? You never can tell, it might be your letter of promotion," Lucas said. Romeo saw that as a trick and refused to fall for it. Without hesitation, he went on his knees immediately and pleaded for Lucas forgiveness. "I am sorry for the things I did to you. None of them were intentional. I've learned my lessons now. Please, I don't want to end up like Tony. I deserve a second chance,"The dismissal of Tony still lives rent-free in Romeo's head like a movie. He wouldn't want his situation to be like that. "You don't want to end up like Tony, right? That's quite ambitious if you ask me," Lucas scoffed."I don't know what you are talking about. I can't recall what happened to Tony. Can you please remind me?" "You dismissed him because of Dexter Cooper, sir. Not just that, he als
"He needs to reach out to his Father. His Father is not even aware that he's been arrested," Romeo pleaded. He was ready to scrub both knees on the tiled floor just to prove how serious he was. "Now this is getting more serious than I expected. How much did Dexter pay you to do this for him? Because I mean, you can't go this for a total stranger you know nothing about," Rhoda confronted Romeo with the disturbing question."Excuse me?" Romeo fumed. "What do you take me for? Do you think I'm one of those hungry-looking cops out there who would sell their dignity for money?" "Perhaps, she might be right. No one knows the reason you are doing this," A masculine voice interrupted them from close range. The voice sounded like Lucas. Where Romeo was, he prayed silently and wished it wasn't Lucas. Lucas, so far, has proved to be Romeo's greatest fear ever. He wasn't even confident enough to look into Lucas' eyes and speak to him directly, let alone confront him. "Good evening, Boss. You ar
"I am listening to you Romeo. Since you got here, you haven't said anything worthy of my attention. I just hope I am not wasting my time with you? Because I was doing something significant before you showed up," Rhoda raised the concern. What Rhoda was concerned about was Romeo's lack of confidence. She didn't know him to be this shaky to the extent where he could barely speak fluently to save his life."Of course not. I assure you, you're not gonna regret having this conversation with me, and I am not even kidding," Romeo created the assurance. He paused afterward. Rhoda signaled him to speak further, but he missed the sign. Romeo made it seem like that both placed a bet on the last person to hold his breath for too long."What the fuck do you think you are doing? You've been quiet for some time now. I should have known that you were just wasting my time. What exactly do you want me to do for you? And I do hope it's something I can handle?" Rhoda asked for clarification. Romeo's a
Dexter struggled to keep up with Romeo's tempo. At the same time, he struggled to breathe properly. He hasn't seen anything like that before. The taunting from Romeo got into Dexter's head. But what was he going to do about it? Absolutely nothing! He was willing to endure the present struggle and hope for a better tomorrow. Dexter was quite aware of his numerous tortures in the hands of Jaguar and would rather not go back to that phase anymore. No one has ever inflicted so much pain on Dexter before since he was born. Not even his beloved Father or late mother.Jaguar treated Dexter as though Dexter were his biological son. It was an ugly experience for Dexter. He would give up an arm to forget about it. "Take a look at these bunch of keys. What do they mean to you? Do they ring a bell to you, or do you want me to spell it out so you would understand perfectly well what I am talking about?" Romeo asked, flashing the keys to the cell across Dexter's face. "They're the keys to y
"Welcome to your new cell, Dexter Cooper. I hope you do like it here. What the heck am I saying? Surely, are going to love it. I mean, it's surely better than your Father's palatial mansion, isn't it?" Romeo teased Dexter with a burst of wicked laughter after they arrived at a new cell. Looking at it alone, Dexter hated it. He chose not to say a word about it to avoid getting on Romeo's nerves. . It turns out that the former cell was more attractive and conducive than the new one Romeo brought Dexter to. The only difference there was Jaguar and his boys that made life a living hell for Dexter. Dexter spent lots of time scrutinizing in his new home. He was filled with regret and wished he hadn't wished for a transfer. But the thought of being beaten to death by Jaguar still scares him to death. "What are you going to say about this? You are taking too much time on something that isn't even worth that stress, and I don't like it. Are we going to spend the entire day talking about
"What do you expect me to do about this now? I still can't believe that are seriously seeking for my help. Everything is still a dream to me. Someone should please wake me up from the illusion before I go insane," Romeo said, slapping his chin to be certain he wasn't imagining things that aren't real. He still wasn't convinced about his decision yet. If Romeo was made to decide immediately without thinking about it, he would chose to walk away from the case just like every other cops. Not for once did Romeo liked Dexter. These two has got a lot of history together. Thinking about the nastiest things that Dexter had done in the past is making Romeo have a second guess. "Please, take me to a new cell. I might end up dead once you leave. These guys are threatened to torture me to death. Please come to my rescue. I don't wanna die," Dexter pleaded as hot tears rolled down his eyes. "You wanna be transferred to another cell? Now I see why you're being dealt with. What have you been
