The presence of Ciara was becoming intimidating for George, the same as her horrible questions that forced George into a silent mode.
“I thought you never wanted to marry my son for some reason best known to you? You made your intentions clear to your father. Good for you.
I don't think my Son finds you fascinating, either. I saw how the both of you almost came to exchange blows inside my office.
If it weren't for your father and me, one of you would have been hurt. Suddenly, you want to marry him? Why the sudden change of mind now? Did your father talk you into doing this? Or did you just think about it and feel it was the right choice to make?” George asked Ciara after being mute for a couple of minutes.
The pressure from Ciara was enough to silence him for eternity. Fortunately for him, he was able to come out of it.
“Nothing changed, sir George.
Snap out of that illusion because it's not happening. I never admitted to you that I had accepted to get married to him, either. You clearly must have missed the point. Don't you think you should pay more attention and let me speak rather than conclude?” Ciara giggled. She finds the conversation quite fascinating and engaging.
The same thing can't be said about George who wore a long frown. He was so infuriated and felt like kicking Ciara In the butt.
“Now you're getting me confused every damn time. Can you get on with it immediately and quit the suspense? To be honest with you, I do not love this game you are playing with me,” George lamented bitterly, like a pathetic widow. He was more than angry at Ciara, yet he tried his best not to yell at her. He was scared that his heart might pull off if he did.
“Neither am I joking with you. Do you think I enjoy being seated around a man who denied my family the life we deserved? Absolutely not.” Ciara stylishly revisited the past.
“Now I see where this is headed.
How smart of you to do that. How far do you think you can go with this? Oh, you think you can break me? Quit trying because it's never gonna happen,” George boasted. He also applauded Ciara for the effort.
“I honestly don't know what you are talking about. I am not here to speak about your son. He is not relevant to me. Rather, I am here because of my father, and I would suggest you give me the listening ear as we proceed with the discourse,” Ciara finally hit the nail on the head and saved George the stress of having to guess what's on her mind.
“Oh, no, here we go again about your father,” George facepalms.
Ciara might have changed the topic to ease the tension off George, but deep down, George knows his situation just got worse, especially when the discussion has to do with Kelly, Ciara's Father. That was precisely the reason they previously got into a fierce argument.
“Don't get tired of it yet. I haven't done anything wrong. This is the part where you have to stay calm and relax your nerves. I haven't said anything and you're already panicking. I doubt if you would be able to last the next few minutes with me,” Ciara jokes.
George didn't say a word. His awkward glance towards Ciara and body movement were enough to pass the message.
“Enough with the drama.
What do you want to discuss with your Dad? Get it done quickly and leave my ward. Your presence is disrupting my healing process. I can't even concentrate having you around me,” George freaked out like a ten-year-old. He was done acting nicer towards Ciara. He doesn't mind if his heart gets pulled out in the process.
“I want to know how you two started. This is me asking about your friendship story with my father. Be sure to spill out every damn detail I need to know. One thing, be fluent in your speech delivery and avoid keeping me in suspense.” Like a Boss to her staff, Ciara ordered. .
She sat comfortably on the chair as though she wanted to see a blockbuster movie at the cinema. It was only a matter of time before she went to grab a bowl of popcorn to enjoy the beautiful story.
Like seriously? Are you kidding me now? Now I know you are sick in the head. You do realize I am old enough to be your father?"
“This has got nothing to do with you being old enough to be my father. It was just a harmless question. I don't see why you are getting pissed off for no reason,” Ciara argued as she defended herself.
“I thought you wanted to say something important. I can't believe you dragged me into suspense just to say trash. You do expect me to waste my time telling you a story about my past? You must have the guts to pull that stunt on me.” George flared up.
"I think you've overstayed your welcome. Now, I want you to leave, or else I will be forced to call the doctor to have you kicked out. Perhaps I should call security to bundle you outside like a piece of trash. How about that?” George threatened Ciara.
It was supposed to invoke the spirit of fear in Ciara, but unfortunately for George, it turned out to be a wasted effort. Ciara didn't walk away in fear, nor did she stop talking.
She looked him in the eyes. “You might want to rephrase your utterances because it's obvious you made a mistake. Are you sure you want to call the doctor to kick me out? Because I may not be the only one to be sent outside. My father hasn't shown up with Dexter — yet. What are the odds?” She laughed mischievously and went back to get seated.
The laughter was enough to send pain to Georgie's already wounded heart as he gnashed his teeth and prepared his fist to attack Ciara.
"What are you scared of? I don't bite. Come on, take the envelope from me and stop acting like a baby already. An officer like you shouldn't be fidgeting. Have you forgotten what I told you about being courageous? You never can tell, it might be your letter of promotion," Lucas said. Romeo saw that as a trick and refused to fall for it. Without hesitation, he went on his knees immediately and pleaded for Lucas forgiveness. "I am sorry for the things I did to you. None of them were intentional. I've learned my lessons now. Please, I don't want to end up like Tony. I deserve a second chance,"The dismissal of Tony still lives rent-free in Romeo's head like a movie. He wouldn't want his situation to be like that. "You don't want to end up like Tony, right? That's quite ambitious if you ask me," Lucas scoffed."I don't know what you are talking about. I can't recall what happened to Tony. Can you please remind me?" "You dismissed him because of Dexter Cooper, sir. Not just that, he als
"He needs to reach out to his Father. His Father is not even aware that he's been arrested," Romeo pleaded. He was ready to scrub both knees on the tiled floor just to prove how serious he was. "Now this is getting more serious than I expected. How much did Dexter pay you to do this for him? Because I mean, you can't go this for a total stranger you know nothing about," Rhoda confronted Romeo with the disturbing question."Excuse me?" Romeo fumed. "What do you take me for? Do you think I'm one of those hungry-looking cops out there who would sell their dignity for money?" "Perhaps, she might be right. No one knows the reason you are doing this," A masculine voice interrupted them from close range. The voice sounded like Lucas. Where Romeo was, he prayed silently and wished it wasn't Lucas. Lucas, so far, has proved to be Romeo's greatest fear ever. He wasn't even confident enough to look into Lucas' eyes and speak to him directly, let alone confront him. "Good evening, Boss. You ar
"I am listening to you Romeo. Since you got here, you haven't said anything worthy of my attention. I just hope I am not wasting my time with you? Because I was doing something significant before you showed up," Rhoda raised the concern. What Rhoda was concerned about was Romeo's lack of confidence. She didn't know him to be this shaky to the extent where he could barely speak fluently to save his life."Of course not. I assure you, you're not gonna regret having this conversation with me, and I am not even kidding," Romeo created the assurance. He paused afterward. Rhoda signaled him to speak further, but he missed the sign. Romeo made it seem like that both placed a bet on the last person to hold his breath for too long."What the fuck do you think you are doing? You've been quiet for some time now. I should have known that you were just wasting my time. What exactly do you want me to do for you? And I do hope it's something I can handle?" Rhoda asked for clarification. Romeo's a
Dexter struggled to keep up with Romeo's tempo. At the same time, he struggled to breathe properly. He hasn't seen anything like that before. The taunting from Romeo got into Dexter's head. But what was he going to do about it? Absolutely nothing! He was willing to endure the present struggle and hope for a better tomorrow. Dexter was quite aware of his numerous tortures in the hands of Jaguar and would rather not go back to that phase anymore. No one has ever inflicted so much pain on Dexter before since he was born. Not even his beloved Father or late mother.Jaguar treated Dexter as though Dexter were his biological son. It was an ugly experience for Dexter. He would give up an arm to forget about it. "Take a look at these bunch of keys. What do they mean to you? Do they ring a bell to you, or do you want me to spell it out so you would understand perfectly well what I am talking about?" Romeo asked, flashing the keys to the cell across Dexter's face. "They're the keys to y
"Welcome to your new cell, Dexter Cooper. I hope you do like it here. What the heck am I saying? Surely, are going to love it. I mean, it's surely better than your Father's palatial mansion, isn't it?" Romeo teased Dexter with a burst of wicked laughter after they arrived at a new cell. Looking at it alone, Dexter hated it. He chose not to say a word about it to avoid getting on Romeo's nerves. . It turns out that the former cell was more attractive and conducive than the new one Romeo brought Dexter to. The only difference there was Jaguar and his boys that made life a living hell for Dexter. Dexter spent lots of time scrutinizing in his new home. He was filled with regret and wished he hadn't wished for a transfer. But the thought of being beaten to death by Jaguar still scares him to death. "What are you going to say about this? You are taking too much time on something that isn't even worth that stress, and I don't like it. Are we going to spend the entire day talking about
"What do you expect me to do about this now? I still can't believe that are seriously seeking for my help. Everything is still a dream to me. Someone should please wake me up from the illusion before I go insane," Romeo said, slapping his chin to be certain he wasn't imagining things that aren't real. He still wasn't convinced about his decision yet. If Romeo was made to decide immediately without thinking about it, he would chose to walk away from the case just like every other cops. Not for once did Romeo liked Dexter. These two has got a lot of history together. Thinking about the nastiest things that Dexter had done in the past is making Romeo have a second guess. "Please, take me to a new cell. I might end up dead once you leave. These guys are threatened to torture me to death. Please come to my rescue. I don't wanna die," Dexter pleaded as hot tears rolled down his eyes. "You wanna be transferred to another cell? Now I see why you're being dealt with. What have you been
