The Sudden Change Of Mind

"So why the sudden change of plan? 

Let me guess. You thought of something else and decided to do away with the old one? That's accurately what it feels like to me right now. Correct me if I'm wrong, though." Dexter became infuriated as he attacked Kelly. 

"Oops, my bad.

I guess that wasn't the right question to ask. The question should be, what are your plans for my family? Want to be part of my father's inheritance after his demise?"

"Dexter, please stop!" George commanded with a loud voice. 

Despite how ferocious he sounded, it still wasn't enough to shut Dexter up. He still went on to criticize Kelly. "How am I certain you are not the one putting those crazy ideas in my father's head?" 

"I said it's enough, Dexter. If you're not going to put yourself to order, I suggest you just leave immediately," George proclaimed. 

"Perfect opportunity to scale through this shit you are putting in my head," Dexter concurred and hissed. 

As he was about to walk away, Kelly obstructed his view. "You not going anywhere," 

"Get the fuck out of my way this minute if you don't wanna witness my dark side," like a warlock, Dexter threatened Kelly. He made it so obvious as though he wanted to punch Kelly in the face. 

Kelly giggled. "I love this. Bring it on," 

He wasn't scared of Dexter, despite the energy Dexter came with. 

"Stop acting like a mother fucking hypocrite and own up to your shit," Dexter dared Kelly. It was starting to look like a competition to win George's affection. 

"Hypocrite? 

Is that what you just called me?" Kelly nodded sideways in agony. If it wasn't for George's health issues, he already planned the nasty things he was going to do to Dexter. He didn't mind whether his decision was going to get him hurt or not. All he cared about was putting Dexter in his place. 

"You know, I could make your Father dump you in the trash can like nobody. 

But guess what? I am not going to do anything like that to you. It's damn obvious that your life is already ruined beyond amendment. 

Without your father's wealth, you are just like the common men roaming the street," Kelly fired back at Dexter in a breathtaking display that swept Dexter off his feet. He couldn't speak further due to how Kelly humbled him with words. 

With an upraised arm, Dexter attempted to launch a punch on Kelly's face. Eventually, he aborted the mission and dropped his hands to the ground. 

"Were you going to hit me in the face, or I'm starting to see things that aren't real?" Kelly questioned as Dexter panted heavily.

 He did want to hit Kelly to the spot where Kelly won't survive. 

He wasn't sure what spirit possessed him and forced him to pull out from such a dangerous move. 

"Count yourself lucky and count your stars. You would have joined your late wife in hell," yet again, Dexter got on the nerves of Kelly.

 He did that on purpose because he knew that was the only option to break Kelly. 

Facing the ground, tiny tears dropped Kelly's eyes. 

He has tried his best to forget about his late wife. Suddenly, Dexter showed up and opened the can of worms. 

He didn't know how to react without getting George's health affected. Left to Kelly, he would have challenged Dexter to a fight. 

"So what now? 

You suddenly damaged your vocal cords? I thought you were brave and outspoken. 

Where did all of that go?" Dexter poked fun at Kelly. It looked like he was having the last laugh at Kelly.

 Kelly has refused to say a word since Dexter dragged his late wife into the ward. 

"Still facing the ground, Kelly muttered. " Don't do this, Kelly, you don't need it," he was trying to force himself to stay calm. 

Unfortunately for Kelly, the more he tries to maintain his composure, the voice of his late wife keeps playing in his head. 

Suddenly, Kelly recalled the promise he made on his late wife's deathbed that he would try his best to stay alive and take care of Ciara.

 That was the only wish that stopped him from creating a scene with Dexter. 

Else, Kelly was already prepared to spend the rest of his life in jail because he knew he was going to hurt Dexter to the point of death. 

"Now listen to me, young man. 

I know what you're trying to do with me. 

You want to unleash my inner demon, aren't you?

 But guess what? I already found out about your tricks. That's not all. It's not gonna work on me. 

I am going to leave you alone with your father to sort things out," Slow and steady, Kelly uttered. He seemed to be regaining his lost confidence back. 

"One last thing," Kelly halted after approaching the doorway. 

"Just so you think I'm gone. 

I haven't yet. I will be back when the urchin has left.

 I wish you both success in your reunion," Kelly added before exiting the ward finally. 

His departure left all of them confused. 

No one said a word five minutes after Kelly's departure. It was as though he had stolen her ability to speak fluently. 

Doctor Escobar's phone rang amidst the prolonged silence. His caller tune was the distraction he needed.

 He was already sorting out a perfect opportunity to leave. Thankfully for Doctor Escobar, the call came to his rescue. 

"I have got to attend to other patients right now. They require me urgently, and I have got to be there," Doctor Escobar narrated as he exited the office at full speed. 

He didn't wait for George to approve his exit because he knew that was never going to happen. 

For the first time in a while, both Dexter and George were left alone in the same room. 

To ensure a dialogue exists between them, doctor Escobar shuts the door from outside.

 Deep down, he knew that Dexter would surely find a way to run away. With the door shut, it's going to be an intense conversation.
