"Do you have anything to say about this, or should I proceed? I don't want it to seem as though I am saying things that never happened. I might be a bit nasty but at the same time, I am quite considerate." Kelly asked Dexter genuinely with a smiling face.
"You son of a bitch! How dare you ask me such a question? Are you trying to spite me or what? What difference does it make anyway? You already started by making life complicated for me. Why don't you finish what you started already? If you had allowed me to handle this my way, I wouldn't have found myself in this mess. Instead, you choose to act like the Boss you would never become in your entire weird life,” Dexter fired back at Kelly without looking back. He carefully selected his words as everyone paid rapid attention to him.
Dexter might have sounded rude to Kelly, yet everyone admired his bravery and how he stood up for himself. They haven't witnessed anything like that before.
Dexter's heart was beating faster like the drums of war. The battle was too much for him to conquer alone.
He had already lost all hopes of defending himself in the presence of his father.
"I see. I guess I should proceed with my narration already," Kelly smiled.
Seated comfortably, he proceeded. "Your second son, Derek was here last night to see you. I had no idea he was your son until he introduced himself to my daughter and I,"
"Okay.
If truly Derek was here last night, why didn't I see him? You ought to have brought him to my office," George questioned.
"That's the shit I'm talking about. Your son, Dexter stopped him from coming." Kelly buttressed.
"No way Dexter did that. Come on, that's not even possible," George sparked outrageously as he doubted the authentication of Kelly's explanation. He still felt an atom of bias in Kelly's explanation.
"Still doubting me?
Ask your son, Dexter.
I guess he's in the best position to explain everything. I don't wanna sound like a liar to you," Kelly paused and exempted himself from the actual discourse. To him, it was a mission accomplished. There was nothing else he could do anymore.
"Should I leave now?
I wanna assume my attention isn't needed here anymore," Kelly asked. Deep down, he knew George wouldn't dare kick him away now that Dexter had been the next victim.
"You still asking the question? I thought you ought to have left already. What the heck are you still doing here?" Dexter roared.
"Kelly isn't leaving until. I say so.
Therefore, he stays. I am not done with him yet. I still need him around me.," George declared to the surprise of everyone, including Dexter who thought his Father was gonna kick Kelly out like a piece of garbage.
"You do know how to play games, Dad. I am not gonna take this seriously. I also wanna believe what you just said was a mistake, isn't it?" Dexter assumed. He still wasn't certain about his father's decision-making policy. Somehow, he still felt there was a mixed up somewhere.
"Mistake? I am not familiar with that word. I need you to fucking read my lips, Dexter, because I'm not gonna repeat it to your hearing.
If there's anyone that needs to leave, it's you, "Just as his name implied, George judged the situation according to his discretion.
"This is unbelievable, Dad. Is this happening to me or I'm just hallucinating? It's quite difficult to believe that you would support a total stranger ahead of your son. Are you even listening to yourself right now? Stuff like this only happens in movies. Now, I'm beginning to witness them happen in life." Cried, Dexter. Just when he thought he was finally cementing his sedition back to his father's life, here comes another setback.
To worsen it all, George had to find out about Derek's visit from Kelly. It would have been a different scenario if Dexter told George himself regardless of what happened. He would have found a way to construct his sentence to avoid getting on his father's nerves.
"You see that man over there?" George said, pointing at Kelly while the latter buried his face to the ground. He was getting fed up of being mixed up in the family's business.
"That man has stuck to me through thick and thin. He rushed me to the hospital when I had a heart attack. An attack that you caused. So you expect me to kick him away just like that? Hell no. I don't see that happening," George concluded.
To spite Dexter and make him feel miserable about his existence, George went on to say. "I've got no regret whatsoever. I said what I said. Oftentimes, I wished Kelly was my biological brother and not just a friend,"
"What are you waiting for? You should probably adopt him immediately. You two already share a striking resemblance," uttered, Dexter. It surely didn't come from a place of happiness. He was hurting deeply inside of him but just decided to pretend to be strong. He still wanted to prove to his father that he could adapt to any situation whatsoever.
Okay. I think this is the height of it all. I just need to leave," Kelly pleaded. As much as he enjoyed Dexter being roasted by George, he wasn't pleased that he was the reason for the drama. He just wanted to be neutral rather than being a barricade to a father and son moment.
"Kelly, please don't leave," George begged. Amidst the drama, he was still taking sides with Kelly. He didn't even consider how Dexter would feel about his decision.
"Fine!
I am gonna leave immediately. I would just be at the reception until you are done fixing things with your son," Kelly implored. He was trying his best not to break George's heart. It was crystal clear that Kelly had become the only mental support George had. Derek would have made a perfect choice if Dexter hadn't kicked him out.
"What are you scared of? I don't bite. Come on, take the envelope from me and stop acting like a baby already. An officer like you shouldn't be fidgeting. Have you forgotten what I told you about being courageous? You never can tell, it might be your letter of promotion," Lucas said. Romeo saw that as a trick and refused to fall for it. Without hesitation, he went on his knees immediately and pleaded for Lucas forgiveness. "I am sorry for the things I did to you. None of them were intentional. I've learned my lessons now. Please, I don't want to end up like Tony. I deserve a second chance,"The dismissal of Tony still lives rent-free in Romeo's head like a movie. He wouldn't want his situation to be like that. "You don't want to end up like Tony, right? That's quite ambitious if you ask me," Lucas scoffed."I don't know what you are talking about. I can't recall what happened to Tony. Can you please remind me?" "You dismissed him because of Dexter Cooper, sir. Not just that, he als
"He needs to reach out to his Father. His Father is not even aware that he's been arrested," Romeo pleaded. He was ready to scrub both knees on the tiled floor just to prove how serious he was. "Now this is getting more serious than I expected. How much did Dexter pay you to do this for him? Because I mean, you can't go this for a total stranger you know nothing about," Rhoda confronted Romeo with the disturbing question."Excuse me?" Romeo fumed. "What do you take me for? Do you think I'm one of those hungry-looking cops out there who would sell their dignity for money?" "Perhaps, she might be right. No one knows the reason you are doing this," A masculine voice interrupted them from close range. The voice sounded like Lucas. Where Romeo was, he prayed silently and wished it wasn't Lucas. Lucas, so far, has proved to be Romeo's greatest fear ever. He wasn't even confident enough to look into Lucas' eyes and speak to him directly, let alone confront him. "Good evening, Boss. You ar
"I am listening to you Romeo. Since you got here, you haven't said anything worthy of my attention. I just hope I am not wasting my time with you? Because I was doing something significant before you showed up," Rhoda raised the concern. What Rhoda was concerned about was Romeo's lack of confidence. She didn't know him to be this shaky to the extent where he could barely speak fluently to save his life."Of course not. I assure you, you're not gonna regret having this conversation with me, and I am not even kidding," Romeo created the assurance. He paused afterward. Rhoda signaled him to speak further, but he missed the sign. Romeo made it seem like that both placed a bet on the last person to hold his breath for too long."What the fuck do you think you are doing? You've been quiet for some time now. I should have known that you were just wasting my time. What exactly do you want me to do for you? And I do hope it's something I can handle?" Rhoda asked for clarification. Romeo's a
Dexter struggled to keep up with Romeo's tempo. At the same time, he struggled to breathe properly. He hasn't seen anything like that before. The taunting from Romeo got into Dexter's head. But what was he going to do about it? Absolutely nothing! He was willing to endure the present struggle and hope for a better tomorrow. Dexter was quite aware of his numerous tortures in the hands of Jaguar and would rather not go back to that phase anymore. No one has ever inflicted so much pain on Dexter before since he was born. Not even his beloved Father or late mother.Jaguar treated Dexter as though Dexter were his biological son. It was an ugly experience for Dexter. He would give up an arm to forget about it. "Take a look at these bunch of keys. What do they mean to you? Do they ring a bell to you, or do you want me to spell it out so you would understand perfectly well what I am talking about?" Romeo asked, flashing the keys to the cell across Dexter's face. "They're the keys to y
"Welcome to your new cell, Dexter Cooper. I hope you do like it here. What the heck am I saying? Surely, are going to love it. I mean, it's surely better than your Father's palatial mansion, isn't it?" Romeo teased Dexter with a burst of wicked laughter after they arrived at a new cell. Looking at it alone, Dexter hated it. He chose not to say a word about it to avoid getting on Romeo's nerves. . It turns out that the former cell was more attractive and conducive than the new one Romeo brought Dexter to. The only difference there was Jaguar and his boys that made life a living hell for Dexter. Dexter spent lots of time scrutinizing in his new home. He was filled with regret and wished he hadn't wished for a transfer. But the thought of being beaten to death by Jaguar still scares him to death. "What are you going to say about this? You are taking too much time on something that isn't even worth that stress, and I don't like it. Are we going to spend the entire day talking about
"What do you expect me to do about this now? I still can't believe that are seriously seeking for my help. Everything is still a dream to me. Someone should please wake me up from the illusion before I go insane," Romeo said, slapping his chin to be certain he wasn't imagining things that aren't real. He still wasn't convinced about his decision yet. If Romeo was made to decide immediately without thinking about it, he would chose to walk away from the case just like every other cops. Not for once did Romeo liked Dexter. These two has got a lot of history together. Thinking about the nastiest things that Dexter had done in the past is making Romeo have a second guess. "Please, take me to a new cell. I might end up dead once you leave. These guys are threatened to torture me to death. Please come to my rescue. I don't wanna die," Dexter pleaded as hot tears rolled down his eyes. "You wanna be transferred to another cell? Now I see why you're being dealt with. What have you been
