登入SABLE'S POV They should have let me enjoy my day in the park. No Ysoria to nag around, no Alpha Bryn to keep a moulded face and give crazy orders. Just me in the garden, tending to my flowers and enjoying the beautiful sight. Not this, roaming around for a course I didn't sign up for, a Hunter without a gun. She shouldn't have brought me along if no provisions were made for me for every single thing. Not a horse, food and now not a gun. But then again, who was I? All I was expected to do was tag along like a pretty bunny. I didn't even have a hunting book on, nor a hunting attire. Only I stood out in a maxi flare dress, this was actually fucked up.I was enjoying my time until I had to step down from the horse and walk and until Knox and Alpha Bryn had to remind me of how useless i was. No?, no? They didn't even hesitate to say no when i politely asked for a gun, it's just a gun for goodness sake. Not like I'm gonna blow someone's head off instead
KNOX'S POV We had gotten so close to the hunting ground, exactly why I wanted to wait behind until Sable was done eating. But she wanted to ride while she ate, I guess it was supposed to be some kind of an experience for her. Well, I enjoyed watching her munch excitedly on the beef jerky while I rode the horse. I loved how relaxed she looked. Although it was her first time riding a horse, she wasn't scared to take her hands off its reign and leave me to it. To some extent, I could say that was trust. Although Sable claimed she didn't trust me, I feel she didn't fully understand that she did. Her actions proved me right, or maybe I was just being too hopeful. I shrugged my shoulders, looking off from her for the first time since she began eating. My gaze landed on Alpha Bryn who was fully invested in staring at Sable, or so I thought. His gaze slowly turned towards me and he had a straight face, staring at me with suspicion filled in his gaze. I gulped l
SABLE'S POV You cannot imagine how excited I was riding a horse with Knox. I got to feel his heartbeat from so close to me, his breath right on my hair and his grip firmly against mine. I couldn't believe this was happening, us in public, being this close and it wasn't looking like a problem, well it wasn't. My husband was the one who thought me being on the same horse as him was inconveniencing. He didn't need to say that, the look in his eyes when I took steps closer to him, I felt like a fool for a moment, not until Knox stepped in. The only reason why I'd walked towards Alpha Bryn horse after Ysoria chased me away from Ash was because we were in public. All eyes were on, watching my next move, clearly so they could give a detailed report to the Den’s gossipers when we got back. The last thing I wanted was to give off a negative vibe, but I guess Alpha Bryn didn't care much about what people had to say to his convenience. For goodness sake, havi
KNOX'S POV Sable lowered her head before walking past me and gripping firmly to Alpha Bryn's horse. He hopped on it, not sparing her a second glance. “Maybe I should go back and get another horse if this isn't enough for you all.” The horse bearer chipped in upon sensing the discomfort. Ysoria chuckled out loudly, looking towards Sable who stood uncomfortably close to Alpha Bryn's horse. “Don't worry Silas, it's gonna take forever before you return.” She mumbled before hopping into hers. “Alright then, I hope it's not gonna be way too inconvenient for you Alpha Bryn?” The horse Bear asked. Alpha Bryn looked towards Sable, and then at the horse bearer. “He can't even handle a horse and a gun, how do you expect him to handle a horse, a gun and a woman?” Ysoria mumbled before walking off with her horse.“It's fine, Luna can hop on with me!” I said. Sable looked back at me, and then at Alp
KNOX'S POV I stared out the window until Ysoria's vehicle drove off, and then Alpha Bryn's vehicle, the same one which Sable was in. I had no idea Alpha Bryn would agree with his mother's demands without a second thought. At least not now when it has to do with Sable going hunting with us. It was the most boring activity since my existence in this park. Ysoria had always treated hunting like some sacred ceremony. When we were children, she got us stuffed into stiff riding jackets, leather boots that pinched our feet, and ridiculous hats that made us look like nobles from a century ago. Apparently, looking uncomfortable was part of the experience. I never complained, never could. All I could do was put on a stiff face as well as Alpha Bryn and watch Ysoria and the late Alpha act all lovingly right in front of us. It became way worse when the Alpha and Ysoria were no longer getting along. We had to go hunting twice a year, right after
SABLE'S POV I was excited about the fact I didn't need to be a part of this ancient park's tradition. But to Ysoria, she saw it as bounding with nature and it was clearly a legacy to keep up with. Well I had no issues with that, as long as I was being exempted. I wouldn't risk being in the woods with my enemy, not just any enemy, Ysoria. And she would be having a gun to herself, she wouldn't hesitate to shoot me down obviously, and then get me out of her sight as she always wanted. I sighed in relief as I stepped out of the building towards the open garage. Guards were already standing out waiting. And the crazy Parks crier who almost blew my ears up this morning with his horn stood at a corner waiting to do that again. I couldn't understand why that was necessary once again, but to Ysoria, it was upholding tradition, sigh. The SUV which I assumed was the one conveying Alpha Bryn stood a few steps away and a few guards surrounded it. I walked right
SABLE'S POV I heard a knock on my door and like I've been doing for the past twenty four hours, I jerked off my bed, straining my eyes to know who exactly that was. After Knox walked out of my chamber, I'd crazily expected him to return. I wanted him to go against my wish jus
SABLE'S POV. I stood right at the same spot at Alpha Bryn's chamber for about five minutes, staring towards the restroom door that he'd just walked into. He didn't even let me finish up, he wasn't taking any excuses. I had to attend and that was it. At that moment, I couldn't tell if my foul mood
KNOX'S POV I stood in front of Sable's door for a long while, my back pressed against it as I wondered what had just happened. She had earlier seemed so not interested in what I had to say, and then in a split her lips were landing over mine and not long after we were all over each other, but tha
SABLE'S POVI took a step backwards, and then another until my feet got fused to the chair. Knox stared at my face, and then down to my feet before letting out a knowing smile. “What then is my Job Sable?” He mumbled almost into my ear. “What then would you have me do if protection ain't in the bo
