LOGINALPHA BRYN'S POV The truth hit me like a sharp needle pierced into my chest and with every word that came out from Dax's mouth, I felt the pain go deeper and deeper until I could hardly breathe. Or maybe it was I who'd unintentionally held my breath as I listened to him speak. He loved it, the impact his words had on me, the look on my face and certainly the way mum begged him to stop speaking. He only went on and on until I could handle it no more. That was it. I shut my eyes firmly as I took in a deep relieving breath. “It's okay Dax, I don't wanna hear anymore.” I mumbled, my tone a bit draggy and my voice shaky. I tried so much to bury my emotions, but it seemed like an impossibility. “Are you sure about that?” Dax asked with a sheepish grin on his face while he leaned forward into the chair. “He said he doesn't wanna hear you speak again, leave him the fuck alone!” Mum yelled out impatiently. Dax turned his gaze reluctantly towards her before slowly looking back at me.
SABLE'S POV I had expected chaos, but not as bad as it turned out to be. The last thing I remember was feeling a heavy pang of headache after screaming out so loudly that I thought for a second I might lose my voice afterwards. And now, pulling my eyes open, I found myself in a completely unfamiliar environment with unfamiliar voices echoing from a distance. I didn't stop for a moment to think about where I was, if I'd actually lost my voice, if the severe headache I'd felt moments ago led to the loss of my life and if this was some kind of underworld or something. All I could think about was Knox. I wanted to know how it all ended, if he got attacked by Dax or if my voice was loud enough to get them both to stop. I doubt that was it judging by how heated the argument turned out to be. I got scared, really scared once Knox lost it. I stared at him with a bewildered gaze while his claws sprouted out. I watched Dax slowly shift into his wolf self. It was only beginning. The
WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?ALPHA BRYN'S POV The council hall was already void of people by the time Alpha Knox was out of it. I watched each and every member of the council slowly trail off to the exit, their footsteps visibly begging I not to summon them back. Well, I guess the dramas had become a bit too much for them to handle. Once the last person walked out of the room and the door slammed shut, mum picked herself from her chair after being silent for a long time. I didn't understand the reason behind her suddenly becoming so reserved. Maybe it was the scene Knox had pulled right in front of us all, or maybe it was way before then, but in all, she had grown cold all of a sudden. I leaned back into my chair as I watched her take hasty steps towards Dax. He stood nonchalantly, peering right at the door with a smirk on his face. He seemed not to have realized mum was approaching him or maybe he did but decided to act otherwise. “That was quite a romantic show off don't you
KNOX'S POV I know I said I didn't give a fuck about what the pack turned into. I know I said all I wanted was Sable's safety and that of the baby. I know that a while ago, all I had at the back of my mind was taking the love of my life and disappearing from this God forsaken pack….But all that changed in a second. I no longer wanted out, I wanted to be part of it.I suddenly felt like the healing our pack needed. Call me selfish, you are right. Call me overly ambitious, you are also right. But there was no way I was gonna sit back and watch Bryn bring Black pine reach to its ruin. I hate to say, but Bryn's a fucking corward. Maybe Dax wasn't wrong, At least not about Bryn being a coward. But I couldn't stand the fact he'd generalized it. He'd looked down at us all. The pack, our elders, our rulership. He'd looked down on all of it. I thought for a second that I could hold it in, that I could watch Dax make a mockery of us all and do nothing, but I couldn't. I moved be
ALPHA BRYN'S POV “Seize him as well!” It was the first word that made its way out of my lip as I stumped my palm against the table with pure range in me. I couldn't believe the shadow council had someone spying on us all along. Not after we'd made peace with them. It's been years since they last interfered in our business and it was meant to be so. They were the God fathers of the werewolf Kingdom whose rules were meant always to be prioritized. Of course we did just that. We never acted against the council's demands, no matter how reckless our pack could get. We never went against its rules. Why then did they send Dax to deceive us. I hated how easily I fell for his words. I hated how I gave him all of my trust just because of a piece of paper he handed over to me letting me know the moon's blade territory wanted to make peace with us. Dax looked down on us so much that he let his guards down to its limit and we still didn't catch on. I always knew there was something abo
KNOX'S POVWe all knew that, we all saw it but decided to turn a blind eye to it. We all heard his words but decided to turn a deaf ear to it. We unanimously agreed to let Dax leave on despite knowing everything about him was false. Probably not everything, but a major part of him and his story. He was far more than representative of the moon's blade territory whose sole aim was to create a peaceful alignment with us. He did more than he should have, said more than he should have and above all, he knew far more things than even I, a member of the Den, did know.Dax wasn't who he claimed to be and for the first time since his arrival, someone asked a question we all had at the back of our minds. “Who are you….” I would say this is the first and only reasonable word Corvin had spoken out from his mouth. At least, he could be remembered for one good….. speaking the minds of everyone in the room. I knew right from the day Dax walked into the Den, there was something so odd about h
CHAPTER 4: ComplicationsSable's POVThe air vanished from my lungs the moment I met his eyes.. It wasn't just his size though he was enormous. It wasn't even the inhuman, gold-flecked glow in his eyes, though that was seriously freaky. It was the sheer crushing weight of his presence that hit me
~SableBefore I could even process the noise.. the room was full of them... large grim-faced men in suits that did nothing to hide their thick necks and rude attitudes.I gasped, scrambling upright and clutching the soft white sheet to my chest. It was the only thing between me and total nudity.“W
~SableUp close with the stranger, the shadows melted away and my bravado almost did too.Holy shit..!The man was… fucking handsome! Like, stop-your-heart-and-then-kick-it-into-overdrive handsome. He was older, maybe early forties with little crinkles at the corners of his eyes that suggested he’
~Sable“Sable! You get your scrawny ass back here, you little fucking shit! What the fuck are you up to now!”The scream rang far behind me into the night as I ran.The night was harshly cold with the cold air filling my lungs at every gasp but it was nothing compared to the sound of Corvin’s voice
