تسجيل الدخولSABLE'S POV I remained seated, staring at Ysoria and wondering if she really meant her words. And at the same time, I thought of a counter response.I wasn't letting her disrespect me. If for anything, I was Luna. It should mean a thing or two to her.Her face suddenly curled up in a smile. I watched her roll her eyes nonchalantly away from me and right on Corvin. He hadn't noticed that, he stood staring with a satisfied smile on his face.Probably he was excited to watch me get humiliated. But I guess he made the wrong judgment way too quickly. “Corvin?” Ysoria called out, pulling him back to consciousness. He turned slightly to look at her, his smile suddenly fading off.“You did not expect my pregnant daughter in-law to do that, did you?” Ysoria asked with a slightly tilted brow.Corvin's lips quivered for a second and then he finally mumbled an answer.
SABLE'S POV I stood stunned for a moment, staring at the cringe scene in front of me. I couldn't wrap my head around its possibility for a brief moment. Why would Ysoria be involved with someone like Corvin, what exactly was their connection? None of it was making sense. Not the creepy smile on Corvin's face while he stood staring at me with a glass of wine in his hand. Nor the knowing smile on Ysoria's face. They clearly didn't care that I'd walked in on them.As much as I knew Corvin was up to no good, I also found it strange that he didn't care I found him in Ysoria's chamber. He wasn't secretive with his actions. He knew what he was doing and above all he didn't care if I found out or if I didn't. “Don't worry you don't have to stare at us that way, it's not like you caught us committing a crime.” Ysoria said as she slowly pulled herself off the bed. She wra
SABLE'S POV I found myself lingering around the pack. A part of me wanted so badly to go to Ysoria’s chamber and another part whispered to me that it might be the worst decision of my life. As much as i knew she would have answers to the puzzle Luncian had just set out for me I also knew she wouldn't let it out so easily. Luncian had spoken about rituals, About it being fed longer than necessary, About Knox needing to claim his place. About Alpha Bryn's situation not being a natural one.I knew all along. That everything happening wasn't natural. But now, it seems more vivid. I couldn't shake the thought off that Ysoria was the villain in this story. Probably the one fanning whatever ritual Luncian mentioned. He seemed to know more than what he was saying. And clearly, if he was afraid or holding back because of someone, it had
KNOX'S POV I hurriedly dipped my hands into my inner pocket, pulling the stone out. I paused midway, staring right back into Damian's eyes. He had an excited look in his eyes. And that made me a bit skeptical. Why was he excited about a strange artifact? He blinked lightly, waving his palm towards me so I could hand it over. I dipped it back into my pocket as I stared right back at him. “Why should I give it to you?” I asked with a raised brow. Damian exhaled sharply, rolling his eyes now in disinterest. “I wanted to show you something in it. Something that made it sound intriguing when I read about it.” He added. I pressed my lips in a thin line, still a bit skeptical. “It's okay if you don't want to bring it out, I doubt it's the real one anyways.” He added. He sat upright in his chair and too
KNOX'S POV I silently packed my bags, neatly arranging my equipment into it as Damian rant on.By now, his words sounded like far away echoes and I stood, not hearing a single word that he'd been saying. All I could think about was a life with Sable, how interesting it was gonna be.Hearing Damian speak, I knew it was high time I did something drastic, something that would shape I and Sable's future, something that would give us a right angling. I was quite certain Sable laid on her bed everyday wondering what would happen next. Standing between two men, how would she leave on with that. I was guilty of charge, guilty of putting her in a tight spot. I exhaled sharply, throwing my gloves into my bags, but just then, it slipped. It fell off to the ground and I reluctantly bent over to pick it up. The black stone slipped out of my pocket. I'd forgotten for a moment that it was i
SABLE'S POVI refused to leave even after Luncian told me he had nothing else to say. He wanted me to connect the dots by myself. But clearly, there was nothing to be connected. I couldn't figure out anything, not when he refused pointing out major facts. What was I gonna do with words that sounded more like threats than advice? How was I supposed to put my things in order if I had no clue what exactly I'm fighting against. He had to tell me exactly what was going on.What ritual was he speaking about? He'd spoken about some kind of a ritual. Something relating to Knox and Alpha Bryn. He'd spoken about Knox claiming what rightfully belonged to him. The more I thought about it, the more terrible it sounded. Maybe Knox was keeping a lot away from me. Or Maybe by what belongs to Knox, Luncian meant me. I doubted its possibility. T
CHAPTER 4: ComplicationsSable's POVThe air vanished from my lungs the moment I met his eyes.. It wasn't just his size though he was enormous. It wasn't even the inhuman, gold-flecked glow in his eyes, though that was seriously freaky. It was the sheer crushing weight of his presence that hit me
~SableBefore I could even process the noise.. the room was full of them... large grim-faced men in suits that did nothing to hide their thick necks and rude attitudes.I gasped, scrambling upright and clutching the soft white sheet to my chest. It was the only thing between me and total nudity.“W
~SableUp close with the stranger, the shadows melted away and my bravado almost did too.Holy shit..!The man was… fucking handsome! Like, stop-your-heart-and-then-kick-it-into-overdrive handsome. He was older, maybe early forties with little crinkles at the corners of his eyes that suggested he’
~Sable“Sable! You get your scrawny ass back here, you little fucking shit! What the fuck are you up to now!”The scream rang far behind me into the night as I ran.The night was harshly cold with the cold air filling my lungs at every gasp but it was nothing compared to the sound of Corvin’s voice
