LOGINALPHA BRYN'S POV I stayed just the way I was hoping whoever it was that had just walked in would get the fuck out of my chamber and leave me to my peace treat. The door slammed shut, followed by the clicking sound of heels.Okay, so whomever it was had refused to leave. I signed out loudly, still not opening my eyes. For a second, I felt as though I was being watched. Yeah well, I definitely was being watched. Who walks into the room, walks close enough and then decides to remain silent. I inhaled, and then exhaled. “Whatever you want can wait until later, as you can see I'm pretty busy.” I mumbled. What I wasn't expecting was an outburst of laughter from none other. Well of course, it was mum. I still wouldn't pull my eyes open and remained just as I was, only at this point I'd been disconnected from my mind. Not that I ever got to connect with
ALPHA BRYN'S POVWhat's worse than watching your pack fall apart and not being able to do anything?Or probably being looked upon as a piece of shit because of the inevitable. Yeah well, I think nothing. With every passing second, I'd begun to feel more miserable than the last. I'd begun to sink deeper and deeper into its realm, and all of this happened in less than a day. Proudly sponsored, the dark force that had decided to haunt down my pack, to hunt down the Black pine reach. After Knox left my chamber, the loud slam of my door was enough to drag me back into reality, but it wasn't. I was still far drawn into my miserable realm. All the sound did was remind me I was still alive in the room and whatever I’d earlier done and said to Sable wasn't from the drunk part of myself. No, it was sober Bryn, just a bit miserable. I guess being drunk and being miserable had the same effect on me.I sighed out loudly, my gaze resting on the bottle of whiskey next to me.I looked away t
SABLE'S POV Knox wouldn't say a word to me no matter how much I spoke. I followed behind him, laying out reasons I'd thought anchored my decisions. But the more I spelt the words out, the more dumb it sounded in my ears, and maybe Knox could tell as well. “I'm not gonna do something this sneaky, ever again.” I called out. Knox looked towards me and then he exhaled sharply. We were now right in front of my Chambers door. I stood right in front of the door, backing it as I blinked apologetically at Knox. “I promise!” I added. He stretched his hands out as though wanting to grab my shoulders, but then she creaked my door right open. I staggered backwards, but he gripped on my wrist the next second. He pushed me on until I was fully inside my room, and then he shut the door behind him.
KNOX'S POV I waited until Sable walked out of the room, slamming the door shut before I sprang up on my feet. Alpha Bryn had actually been way out of place. With his words, and then his actions. I was glad Sable decided to leave but then came Alpha Bryn, not actually ready to let her walk away as easily as she walked in.He'd yelled at her making Sable flinch, both in surprise and in confusion. She'd clearly done nothing wrong, except she stated she was done listening to him speak. That wasn't enough to cause a fuse. He'd been overly walked up. Earlier with the maid servant and then now with Sable. I wasn't having that. I had to step in before he acted out of proportion or did something I wasn't gonna like.“What exactly is wrong with you Bryn?” I spat out the moment I heard the door slam. “You acting like a fucking piece of shit!” I yelled out, st
SABLE'S POV I was getting a bit uncomfortable in Alpha Bryn's chamber. A part of me had begun to question my decision. The ones I made at my chamber before coming out here, that is to come all the way to Alpha Bryn's chamber and at least hear from the horse's mouth. And then the one I made at his front door after I saw the state of his space. After I saw the look on his face. That was enough to make me leave. I should have turned around and walked right out of the chamber, I probably wouldn't be in a fix right now. But I didn't, I forgot the right thing to do was to trust my instincts. And at the same time, I forgot to trust Knox as well. He had the look on his face all along, begging i leave, But I bluntly refused. He clearly wasn't willing to push things too far and too hard.
KNOX'S POV Sable walked into the chamber just minutes before I could make up my mind fully to leave. We'd sat in silence for as long as I could remember, with everyone in their heads. We were both silently trying to analyze the situation that we were currently in and judging by the look of things, it wasn't good. I shook my head frantically the moment I saw her walk in.Part of what I had at the back of my mind was actually how and what I could say to Sable. She'd been doing a bunch of risky shits lately and that was not good for her health. And now? What had seemed to be our only hope was actually gone.It was clearly news that could break her and breaking her wasn't in my agenda. I didn't want her to be sad, I didn't want her to be more worried than she already was. But as she walked into the room, the look on her face was screaming just exactly what I had hoped would be far
CHAPTER 4: ComplicationsSable's POVThe air vanished from my lungs the moment I met his eyes.. It wasn't just his size though he was enormous. It wasn't even the inhuman, gold-flecked glow in his eyes, though that was seriously freaky. It was the sheer crushing weight of his presence that hit me
~SableBefore I could even process the noise.. the room was full of them... large grim-faced men in suits that did nothing to hide their thick necks and rude attitudes.I gasped, scrambling upright and clutching the soft white sheet to my chest. It was the only thing between me and total nudity.“W
~SableUp close with the stranger, the shadows melted away and my bravado almost did too.Holy shit..!The man was… fucking handsome! Like, stop-your-heart-and-then-kick-it-into-overdrive handsome. He was older, maybe early forties with little crinkles at the corners of his eyes that suggested he’
~Sable“Sable! You get your scrawny ass back here, you little fucking shit! What the fuck are you up to now!”The scream rang far behind me into the night as I ran.The night was harshly cold with the cold air filling my lungs at every gasp but it was nothing compared to the sound of Corvin’s voice
