Christian watched Jessie closely. He could tell that something was bothering her, but she just won't say, and her not being a part of his pack made it hard for him to search into her already distant mind.

She provided no answer to him, leaving him to wonder if anyone had said something to her, because at the beginning she was all smiles.

Now that Jessie was in the washroom, Christian again tried to see if he could read her mind, but again, it was as if there was a thin blanket over her mind that wouldn't allow him to penetrate.

"Alpha, looking sharp as ever.'' Richard, a long-time friend of Christian, came up behind him with a smile.

''I might say so myself.''

"So where is the Luna? I hope she isn't off to bed as yet. I tried my best to make it on time. Even if even it is to get just a glimpse of her, rumour as it, she is a sight to behold.''

"Well, the rumours are right.''

"Even prettier than you know?''
