The car skidded to a stop as it pulled up outside a huge, beautiful house.
Jessie's eyes widen at how beautiful it looked.
The clean all-white of the painted outside gleamed under the dim moonlight, making it seem as if it was straight out of a fairy tale. The moon laces in full bloom made it even more surreal.
Jessie couldn't believe it. This was where she'll be living from now on.
And it was already much better than the room she had to share with her siblings.
If Christian really does as he said and treated Jessie well, or as an equal, and not be an abusive physio, then she just might be comfortable there.
''Maybe it wouldn't be so bad living in a house full of wolves or a community with them.'' Jessie thought.
Like a gentleman, Christian got out of the car first, walked around to Jessie's side of the car, and let her out.
It took a great deal for Jessie to get out of the car, even with the help of Christian, she still struggled with the wedding dress.
Finally, after one last pull, Jessie was free. But even then, Christian never took his hands off her as they walked to the door.
"I should have told you, my parents still lives here, along with my two sisters and one brother. I also have four nieces and two nephews, ages four to sixteen. With me being the eldest of my siblings. Oh, and there are close to three hundred members of the pack who lives just behind the forest, you will meet them soon enough. For now, come, let's introduce you to my family.''
Jessie nodded, ''before you do, can I just say something?''
"Of course.''
"What we talked about in the car, I won't say anything to anyone,'' Jessie assured Christian.
A smile played on the corners of his mouth, ''well, there is no one to tell it to.''
"Right, that too.''
"Don't worry, they'll like you. If not screw them, we have each other.'' He kissed the back of Jessie's hand.
As Christian took Jessie's hand again, she wondered why and how she was so accepting of everything.
Normally, she would have laughed.
They kidnapped her from school, and forced her into marriage, yet here she was with a werewolf shifter. Maybe it's because she was glad to never see her father, mother, or brother again, maybe because she has never experienced the finer things in life before, or maybe it was the pull she felt towards Christian. But whatever it was, she didn't like how quickly she accepted it all.
But whatever it is, she hoped it all goes well. She prayed that Christian was the man that he made himself out to be; and wouldn't know what she would do if she were to ever be trapped there.
The newly weds, walked into the grand house together, still hand in hand.
Jessie's mouth almost fell open at how gorgeous the inside was.
The grand winding staircase dominated the foyer, with a crystal and gold chandelier that was decorating the white ceiling.
But what surprised her the most was all the staff that stood at the bottom of the staircase.
From security to chefs to maids. Almost like any army.
Then his family, she guessed, stood just above them.
While most of their faces and eyes held hate, some had pleasant enough smiles. Especially the man that stood beside his wife and two children. They were the only ones to wear genuine enough smiles.
The staff nodded their heads as if they had the routine practiced, but they said nothing as they went back to their respectful duties.
Christian introduced Jessie to his family next, which was hard for her to keep up with. This was all just too much. Her mind needed rest just from the wedding alone.
After all that, Christian showed Jessie around the impressive five stories, three-wing house that can easily fit twenty of her dinky little house.
As for as she could see was that there was a garden, a swimming pool, a jogging track and rolling green pastures just behind the trees.
Christian showed her up to her new en-suite bedroom, which was so gorgeous it left her speechless. A white four-poster bed sat in the middle, along with two white bedside tables, a white bed stool, and that was it. But Jessie could see an en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet as well, in all white.
Christian notified her that his room was beside her, with a door as the only thing that separated them. Which was basically a masculine version of her room.
"Jessie, you haven't said a word all this time. Is everything ok?'' Christian took her hand in his.
"Yes, I'm alright, just all this. It's like a dream. I honestly half expected you to lock me away, beat me, or even ignore me. Not giving me a room and making me feel uncomfortable. I just didn't know what to expect.''
Christian pulled at Jessie's hand and led her over to the brown leather sofa that was in his room. He pleased a hand on her cheek and gazed into her eyes.
"That's the thing I don't like with those fabricated stories about us. Well, most werewolves aren't like that. Just think of this, how they treated you back home versus here will be much different. No one will dare to lay a finger on you. I will treat you as you are, my wife. You are my mated one. There is no reason or purpose to bring harm to you. I am your protector and provider.''
Jessie stared into his eyes, seeing that he was being sincere and, for once in her life, she can actually trust a man, even if he wasn't a vampire or human. She couldn't help but smile.
"Jessie, you are a beautiful woman, you deserve to be treated as such and that's what I intend to do.'' His voice sounded husky and his warm breath fanned Jessie's face.
That was when she realised just how close they were to each other, with only inches between them. Before either of them knew it, their lips locked, moving in sync to the slow pace of each other.
Christian's hand rested on the small of Jessie's back, as his other hand held her in place on the coach. Unlike with any other kiss she had ever had, this was not forced. It felt romantic, and it was like her real first kiss. As Christian leaned in more, our tongue entwined.
All too soon, Jessie pulled back. ''I can't do this, I don't want to do this or be here.''
Glad she said it, because there was that familiar pull in her stomach. The more they deepened the kiss, the more the feeling grew.
Jessie had made a vow to herself to never get too close to any man again. Feeling herself going into a panic, she tried to push Christian away. Her breathing came out in rushes and she hoped he didn't get mad or try to hurt her.
But in truth, Jessie didn't think the kiss was supposed to happen, thinking that they were moving a little too fast. She had only just met him and was tongue tied with him.
The back of his hand caressed her soft, rosy cheek gently.
Jessie flinched, leaning back further into the sofa.
"No!" Jessie screamed, moving away from Christian when he tried to touch her again. She ran out of his room and into hers. Then slammed the door behind her and leaned her head against it.
"Why me?'' Jessie cried, hiding her face in her palms as her tears flowed, soaking the gloves that clothe them.
"Why is this happening? I don't want to be here, I can't be here.''
Christian aggressively wiped at his lips and stared at the pink lipstick that now stained his lips as well. He shook his head to come out of his state of confusion, then chased after Jessie. "What the hell? One minute you are kissing me, the next you are screaming in my face.'' He shouted after her, but because of his state of shock, he moved too slow to catch up with her. That kiss had his senses running wild, his every being had come alive at the sensation. He had always heard about the effect that one's mate had on the other, but he never knew it would be this strong. He was in a daze, and if it was for the familiar scents of his home, he would have lost it. Christian walked to her door and gentle knock, ''Jessie, are you ok, what did I do?'' All he heard was sobbings from inside, but because she locked the door, it made it impossible to go comfort her. Of course, Christian could easily break the door down, but he did
Jessie closed her eyes and prayed before eating, something that was beaten into her from a young age. Peter, her father, had always said that they should be grateful for the meal that was provided, because he didn't have to feed her or her siblings or know when God will provide for another. Which was right, he had all the food to himself, and preferred to feed his wife and his namesake. All he gave Jessie and his two other daughters were what's left, the scrapes, which wasn't much. A slice of stale bread to share for them, a chicken breast or one baked potato. And that's it. They were expected to never complain or ask for more. It was after getting a full scholarship to uni did Jessie know a belly full; When she opened her eyes, Christian was staring at her with a confused look. A small smile spread across his face as he nodded to himself. Confused, she asked. "What is it?" But got no response from him. "Tell me about yo
Jessie and Christian sat together talking for a while in the kitchen until Jessie's eyes start closing down and her head was nodding, while listening to Christian's soothing voice. "Time for bed." Christian took Jessie by the hand, then unexpectedly lift her up and brought her up to her room. She reclined her head on his chest, listening to the fast speed of his heartbeat; it was as if his chest was filled with hummingbird wings instead of a heart. Completely different from that of a vampire or human. Jessie knew for a fact that she will be in for a wild ride. She closed her eyes in thought. 'Am I ready? Maybe not, but for Christian, I'll try my best.' Christian leered down at his bride, noticing how perfectly she fit in his arms. "Damn it.'' He sighed out. Jessie opened her eyes to stare up at him, noting the deep frown between his brows. "You can put me down if I'm too heavy.'' Jessie sa
Christian woke up for the second time in the middle of the night, this time feeling strange. There was a great pressure on his chest, which made him feel hot. Remembering that he was in bed with Jessie, and it must have been her. He opened his eyes to see half of her body on his chest and her hair in a tangled mess around both of them. Christian had always thought that sleeping with his mate would be peaceful, and she would be curled into his side. But not Jessie. She even snored, drooled a bit, talked in her sleep andshe was the source of heat, almost making Christian sweaty. Instead of waking her, he allowed her to sleep and mumbled away. Wondering what she was dreaming about now, as her brows frowned while she hissed a little. "You are mine, my vampire turned human, my woman, my wife, my mate.'' Christian brushed a finger against her cheek; she stirred and her big grey eyes opened to stare at Christian, as if seeing him
"Jessie, I am sorry ok, I didn't mean to make you upset, but things with me and my ex didn't exactly end. They forced us to be apart after being told who my mate was. I knew little about you, just that you were once a vampire. Which I'm not too fond of, especially those from Kilfrost.'' "Not all vampires are bad, just as how not all wolves are good.'' "Je meeprise ces sangsues" Christian spat. Just when Jessie thought he was done, he continued speaking in French. "Ces sangsues cause trop de souffrance.'' Jessie waited until he calmed down before she resumed the conversation. ''What kind of suffering have they caused? The last time I checked, they are good people.'' Looking at her in shock, Christian cocked his head to the side. "I know French.'' "Oh, I honestly didn't think that you would.'' "You think I'm stupid?'' ''Kilfrost is the vilest of all the vampire Hordes. Other
After jogging for so long, getting sweat in her eyes and becoming out of breath, Jessie stopped to walk around and admire the flowers in the garden. Even though her eyes watered from her allergies, she still tried to sniff them. Never have she seen such vibrant flowers before, some of which she did not recognise. Jessie ran a hand along every one of them. She loved flowers even though the feeling was not mutual; All because they put her in a sneezing fit. Jessie plucked one up before deciding to explore the expansive yard. Jessie walked around until she found herself at a large silver fence; only to remember what Christian said about it being electric. Wanting to know if it was true, she gathered a hand full of dirt then threw it at the fence. Sparks went up, causing her to back away, not wanting to get fried by that thing. Just one touch and that's it for her. Feeling as if she was being watched, Jessie turned around to see a lit
Martha and Jessie sat on her sofa laughing and eating cake, as she told Jessie stories about the funniest things her grandchildren do. Jessie doesn't know how she can manage with them all. She had three children and sixteen grandchildren. All of which she takes care of daily, occurring to Martha. No one lifts a finger in her household unless it is her. "You are one great grandmother, I know they must love you.'' Their conversation took a sudden turn, with Martha mentioning Keera. "I'm just glad that the Alpha found his true mate, vampire or not. I can't stand that Keera, she is so self-absorbed and selfish. Good gods, not to mention how spoilt she is." Not being the one to gossip much, Jessie still couldn't resist asking, "Can you tell me all I need to know about this, Keera? There is something about her.'' Martha frowned at first, then gave a smile, "as much as I would love to tell you about that girl, our conversa
When Jessie woke, she was in bed with the covers all the way up to her chin. She didn't know how or when she got in bed, but all she knew now was that when she opened her eyes; the sun was streaming in and she could smell delicious food that made her mouth water. She turned in that direction to see chocolate flavoured Weetabix, bacon, eggs and biscuits, long with orange juice. "Breakfast?'' She questioned. "Yes,-" "AHHHHHH!!" Jessie screamed, not realising that Christian was in the room. ''Sorry.'' She held a hand over her heart, before speaking. ''Why breakfast?" "Well, you have been sleeping.'' ''Yeah, I figured that.'' "You have been sleeping for nineteen hours.'' "Wha-?'' She shrilled, not believing what he just said. ''Oh b*lls.'' Jessie sunk to the bed, she didn't feel hangover which she was grateful for. "You also threw up on me several times.'' Jessie looked back at him, "you're n
