Ava

Emma was busy in her office. Her hands screeched the laptop in anger, it was as if she was venting all of her anger on the computer.

She really hated when her time was wasted, it always brought immense anger towards her.

And now, almost half of the day was gone due to waiting for that damn CEO.

She personally went to his office to accuse him of stealing her games.

Whenever she thinks of a game and drafts it down, suddenly Game.Inc had published that game.

Her face was straight, that no one could know what was going on in her brain, she just stared at the screen trying to draft down another game.

Assistant Lilly came inside with her head bowed.

"What do you want?" She asked her face concentrated on the screen.

Assistant Lilly bit her lips, she knew better than not to get her angry.

"I just received a notification that Old Mistress Martha wants all of her grand daughter at the family mansion, now" Assistant Lilly said.

"Family mansion?" Emma scoffed, why would she waste her time and go to a family mansion?

She remembered vividly when she begged her grandmother to let her leave there since her parents were dead.

But her evil grandmother laughter shook her to the very core. Her grandmother called her a bastard. Someone not worthy to leave in the mansion.

And now her dumb grandmother wants them all at the mansion, yeah right.

"I am not going" Emma said indifferently.

"But Old Mistress Martha said that if you don't appear, she will take away Ava" Lilly replied.

"That old woman is threatening me with Ava" She gnashed her teeth, what a sly old woman!

Ava was her maternal niece, she loved her so much that she wouldn't bear to see her in pain.

"Really?" Emma tightened her fist into a ball, relaxing a bit she claimed her self down.

"When is the meeting?" She asked.

"Right now" Lilly bowed.

"Okay then, you can leave now" Emma gestured to the door.

"Okay" She wobbled her legs out of the freezing room.

Emma sighed, she spent another five minutes drafting the game she would soon launch out, she was thinking of launching the demo first.

After she was done, she shut down her laptop and left the room.

"Lilly, you are in charge, cancel all the meeting I have for today and tomorrow" She said as soon as she sighted her.

"Yes Ma" Lilly bowed without saying a word and left.

"Great. I will be off now" She took her car keys and left the company.

She stopped over at a grocery store and got some grocery for her parents.

She then drove over to their home.

"Mother, where are you?" She said Curiously as she shut the door closed.

"Emma, you are here?" Elle asked, she was in the kitchen preparing some dishes when she heard Emma's voice, immense happiness flushed through her as she went to give her niece a hug.

"Emma, I have missed you" She embraced her tightly.

"I have missed you too" Emma returned the hug.

Elle was her mother's twin sister, and since her parent's death, they even let her leave in their house.

And thus, Emma treated them like her own family.

Ava was the age of Sabrina, hence, Emma loved her a lot like a little sister.

"Come and eat, I have prepared lunch" Elle led her to the dining room.

"No worries, mum, I am leaving now, where is Ava?" She asked, scanning everywhere for her.

"Aunty Emma" Suddenly, Ava ran over to her and gave her a really tight hug. "I missed you so much"

Emma's eyes turned misty as she stared at the little girl bouncing in excitement.

How great would it be if her own sister Sabrina was alive?

Sigh. Sometimes somethings aren't just meant to be.

"Ava" She lifted the little girl up as she swinged her up in the air.

"I missed you too" She smiled.

Her tone was gentle as she caressed the little girl's chubby cheek.

This time around, there was no fearful aura around her, no straight face, it was just a normal woman smiling cheekily at the little girl.

"Aunty Emma, let us play" The little girl's smile spread across her chubby face, it could be seen clearly that she missed her best aunt so much.

"Ava, Emma just got here and had barely had anything" Elle looked at her daughter who now wore an Apologetic and sad look.

"No worries, mum, I have to go now" Emma dropped the grocery bag on the table and smile. "This are for you guys"

Ava's face wore disappointment immediately. "When will you come back?" She asked.

"Very soon, and when I come back, I will get you something, Okay?" Emma pinched the little girl's cheek with happiness.

"Okay, goodbye Aunty" She kissed her cheek affectionately before she skipped away.

Emma smiled as she watched the little bundle of joy as she skipped away in delight, her face was full of smiles. She felt happiness wash through her whole body.

"Emma, please take care of yourself, okay? please do not think too much, it might become a burden on you" Elle said,her eyes was full of concern.

"Of course mum, please greet dad for me, I will surely come back another time. And next time with many more gifts." She kissed her goodbye.
