MasukAurora POV“Paul told me what happened during the conference meeting,” Dad said, coming to stand beside me, and I smiled. “I had a feeling he would; he was really proud,” I said, taking a drink from the passing server. “Why did you leave that piece of information out? All you said was it was a success,” he said to me. I took a sip of my drink and turned to him. “Well, it was a success. I didn’t leave anything out,” I said. He narrowed his eyes at me and then rolled his eyes.“Truly, you are just like me,” he replied. I laughed. It wasn’t anything to brag about; it’s too early to brag about my achievement. When the time is due, I would.“I can’t believe they have been stealing from the company. I appointed Robinson myself as the CEO. This is one of the things you should learn. In the business world there would always be betrayals. It can’t be helped,” he said, and I agreed with him. That’s why you shouldn’t trust anyone but yourself. “Well, good thing I caught them. Mr Paul is deal
Aurora’s POVI walked down the hallway with my assistant and secretary behind me. Today is the quarterly conference meeting, and it just happens to be my third month since I became the CEO. Being the CEO has been bittersweet. There have been a lot of times when I became so overwhelmed by all happening around me and confused about what I am doing. Those days, I usually run to Dexter, Dad or Sanjay and sometimes Papa. I am so thankful for them; I have no idea what I would have done without their vision and help. The staff and the board are watching me closely, and it’s very obvious their loyalty lies with Quinn. People expect me to be in a competition with her, but I am not doing any of that. I learn from her when necessary, and I ask questions when they’re needed. One of Papa's greatest pieces of advice was telling me not to see her as my competition and enemy. Unless it warrants it. I see the look she gives me sometimes and the pride when people turn to her instead of me as the CEO.
Aurora’s POV“Why didn’t you tell me you were going to declare me as the owner?” I asked, looking at him as we walked down the hallway.“I wanted it to be a surprise,” he replied. I sighed, running my hand through my hair. “This feels like such a big responsibility. I won’t be able to run the company like you have done for years. Do I have such capabilities?” I asked. “I know, Aurora. I have made arrangements; this was thoroughly considered. I know you are not ready, but you will be. Remember Sanjay? The man I told you about?” he asked. I nodded.“He will be here next week. He knows all there is to know about business; he would assist you and teach you all you need to know. His father was my friend, and he was one of the people who made me a successful businessman today. May his soul rest in peace. Don’t worry, you have business tycoons all around you. We won’t let you fall,” he said, holding my hand. I smiled, feeling a bit relieved.“I can’t believe how rich Hailey is right now. D
Aurora’s POV“Congratulations,” Quinn said, giving me a slight hug. I smiled, receiving her hug.“Thank you so much,” I replied. She smiled, pulling back and handing a small gift bag to me.“This is a small gift to congratulate you on your baby and also to celebrate our new CEO of the Sinclair Empire,” she said, stretching her hand. I smiled, taking the gift.“Thank you, I appreciate all your efforts,” I replied. I may not like Quinn personally, but I do appreciate her efforts. It’s been six months since I gave birth to Hailey, and it has been amazing. Being a mother has been so beautiful, and I never thought motherhood could be as loving as this. Hailey is growing beautifully and very chunky, and everyone around her is showering her with love, care and all the attention. Her grandfathers are amazing, and I will admit they have spoilt her a little. They give her all she wants; they hate to see her cry. And Dexter? He is worse. He hates being apart from her; if he could take her to wo
Dexter’s POV“She is so precious,” Dad cried, looking down at Hailey, who was sleeping beside Aurora on her little bed. Charles, however, was pampering Aurora, asking her if she was okay and if she needed anything. When he came into the room, he ran straight for Aurora; she was his baby first before Hailey, and I understood him. I rubbed Aurora’s feet slowly. I haven’t taken much of a look at Hailey, although we did skin-to-skin contact; I was most worried for Aurora. The past hours have been very traumatic; I never thought I would see Aurora like that. She acted possessed all through her pregnancy, and we all understood because pregnancy was no joke, but in the last hours, she wasn’t possessed; she was the devil herself. She was screaming at me, looking at me like she hated me, and it broke my heart seeing that. I haven’t recovered from that feeling, and I think this would be our one and only child. I don’t want to put her through another pain, and I don’t want her to look at me tha
Aurora’s POVI turned around in front of the mirror, looking at my belly. We were in the night, and the party was over, and everyone had retired to their rooms. After finding out the gender, we all ate and played games and some music till we got tired, and now, we are exhausted. Dexter came and wrapped his arms around me softly.“I can’t believe we are having a girl,” he mumbled, rubbing my stomach.“Me too; she is going to be my mini me. She will live the life I couldn’t live, spoiled and loved to the core,” I said, and he kissed my temple.“Thank you, Aurora. You came into my life and made it better. What would I have been doing by now if you hadn’t come along?” He asked rhetorically, and I turned around.“I told you, Dexter. Stop saying that; we both needed each other. We are here because of us,” I said, and he chuckled. “You are right. Tomorrow, we will be 38 weeks, and we are going to meet the newest addition very soon. Love me all you want now because when my daughter comes, my
