Rosalia's POV

I couldn't recall when I fell asleep but I felt tired the moment I woke up.

Still I didn't want to stay in bed so I dragged myself out of the sheets.

My body still ached from yesterday’s chaos. I took a bath, got dressed and when I stepped outside, something caught me off guard.

A bouquet of flowers rested outside my door, roses tied neatly with a silk ribbon. I leaned down and picked it up, noticing a small card tucked between the stems.

I unfolded it, my heart fluttering at the bold scrawl: Best mate ever.

A smile spread across my face, wider than I could control, laughter slipping out before I could stop it. Nathan’s doing, of course. I pressed the flowers to my chest and hurried inside, setting them carefully on the table as if they were priceless. My mood shifted instantly, all exhaustion replaced with warmth.

By the time I joined everyone outside, the sun was already sinking low.
