Chapter 37

Rosalie's POV

"Where is all your confidence now? Without your powers you've been reminded your place is beneath me" the man spat.

"What are you talking about everything I did, I did it for you" my lips moved to say the words.

It was like I was another subconscious. I was strapped to her, watching through Elerein’s eyes, through her body feeling every emotion.

Mael. That was his name.

I could tell she loved this man very much by the way her heart hurt, the memory of them together where he smiled in her face but secretly resented her.

She couldn't believe it, she trusted this man yet he betrayed her.

“I had done everything for you, I left my family, gave up on my dreams just to be with you, why can't you see I was only trying to help you” Elerein pleaded desperate to let him see her intentions were pure.

She only wanted his approval to make him see he was worth of her but instead he grew jealous.

"Those crocodile tears have no effect on me, you can plead and cry all you want

  • Married To The crippled Alpha    chapter 39

Chapter 39Nathan's POV I was walking…A shaky laugh escaped me. I walked around the room still in disbelief.“I’m standing,” I whispered, more to myself than to anyone else. “I’m really standing.”After being confined to that wheelchair, I was finally free. I clasped a hand over my mouth, my heart pounding so hard like it would burst out of my chest. This was unbelievable… It was a miracle.I took another step, still in awe.I looked at Brad, who watched me with wide eyes, then he smiled. It was genuine but there was a shadow behind it. “I’m happy for you, man,” he said. “Really. But... Rosalie.”That name hit like a hammer. My smile faltered. “Right.” I turned to Elerein, who stood by the wall, her arms folded, her expression guarded.I owed this to Rosalie. She made a deal with the devil just so I could walk again.“Where is she?” I whispered. “What happened to Rosalie?”Brad stepped forward. “You said she’s gone. What do you mean by that?”He sounded more concerned than I was, w

  • Married To The crippled Alpha    chapter 38

Chapter 38Nathan's POV Rosalie didn’t say a word as she wheeled me through the long corridor that led to my room.Or the lady who looked like Rosalie did.“She's not the one,” my wolf said, sensing something different from her. Adding to my suspicions, I didn't want to believe it but it was obvious. Was this what I had been warned about? She had the same face, hair and everything the same but it wasn't her. How was that possible?I'm certain if she was a twin Daphne wouldn't look so shocked, they were still siblings- despite being polar opposites- Daphne would have known. But she wasn't a twin.A look alike maybe? A clone? This was something straight out of a fictional movie.I didn't know what was going on but I was about to find out.As we turned the corner to my room, Brad stood outside the door. His eyes widened the second he saw her.He stood shell shocked for a minute taking her in from her head down to her toes. He had the same reaction I did when I first glanced at her.Who

  • Married To The crippled Alpha    chapter 36

Chapter 36Nathan's POVI had nothing to be guilty about.Rosalie was a grown woman; she wouldn't do anything to jeopardize her life just so she could heal me...That's the lie I've been feeding myself this past week. I had once tried to warn her, but the moment she brought up the one thing I desperately wanted, no… needed.I became selfish.Still, I tried to convince myself I was being paranoid. The warning from my dad, despite being a prick, his perceptive skills were impeccable. Not only that, but the warning from my wolf and her demeanor, frankly, haf changed. She looked distracted, and the guards I instructed to look after her reported she spoke to herself too many times to count. But still, I said nothing, especially since the race to the throne was coming to an end, and I was on the verge of losing my mind. The only thing that kept me sane was Rosalie's promise, so I wanted nothing to stand in her way.Deep down, I knew whatever the threat was, it was related to helping me walk

  • Married To The crippled Alpha    chapter 35

Chapter 35Rosalie’s POVIt's been a week.I had been mentally preparing myself for this, we had gone through everything and still looking at the full moon I wasn't ready. In as much as we made our own preparations the pack also celebrated. The new Alpha was to be crowned.Nathan, Brad and I were listed off to help with the preparations for the coronation. The new future Luna was already pulling her weight.I had never seen her so anxious she badly needed everything to go well and kept me on surveillance.Elerein had already warned me about the guards who had been following me so I had to be cautious.I limited my visit in Nathan's room, not like we were making progress anyway. This might just be our last hope and I couldn't screw it up.“You're ready?” Elerein voiced beside me in a formal tone. Everyone was on edge.We had one shot so we had to make it count. Not trusting my voice, I nodded then walked to the center of my room.Slowly, I formed the circle.Every night this past week

  • Married To The crippled Alpha    chapter 34

Chapter 34Rosalie’s POVFinally! A sigh escaped my lips.By the time I was finished with the last toilet, my arms felt like jelly. My knees ached from scrubbing, and my fingers were broken. I smelled like I had just crawled through the sewers but alas I was done with my punishment.I dragged my body down the hallway, my limbs screaming with every step. All I wanted was to collapse after a bath. After a long, hard scrub.Today's experience just made me grow more respect for the servants cleaning this mansion. Before heading back to my room, I made a detour to the equipment room. Tucked beneath an old mop bucket, wrapped in a ragged towel, was the book I’d hidden earlier, the one Elerein had made me snatch from the library. It was heavier than I remembered.I pressed it to my chest and headed for my room, not stopping until the door was locked behind me. Peeling off my filthy clothes, I headed for the bathroom. The water wasn’t as hot as I liked, but it still felt like heaven. I let

  • Married To The crippled Alpha    chapter 33

Chapter 33Nathan’s POV“Watch your tone,” my father warned. “I am still your father.”I laughed out bitterly. “No. You stopped being my father the day I broke my legs and you looked at me like I was worthless. Like I’d failed you.”“You failed yourself boy, I don't understand how you always pick a fight with me all I did was to come warn you about your wife.”His jaw tightened, but I didn’t care. I’d swallowed my pride for too long, stayed quiet through every dismissal, every condescending glance. I was done.“You only care about Rosalie because she doesn’t fall in line,” I said. “She’s unpredictable, and that scares the hell out of you. You can’t control her like you controlled Mother.”His nostrils flared. “That’s enough—”“No, it’s not.” I pushed forward, every word from my mouth carrying the weight of everything I hadn’t said since the accident. “You resent what you can’t control. You always have. Isn't that why you loathe me so much because I was declared to be your powerful Lyc

  • Married To The crippled Alpha    chapter 32

Author's POV BRADTalk about perfect timing. He didn't expect to introduce Cleo the moment she arrived but since Rosalie was here why wait.He held Cleo a little tighter than necessary, hoping to make it believable. While Cleo did her part flawlessly, her arms looped around his arm like she belonged there, and he did his best to smile. His eyes, however, betrayed him. They kept flicking back to Rosalie, catching the barely-there flicker of hurt in her expression before she blinked it away.“That's nice,” she commented. That expression lingered in his mind far longer than it should have.Since that night… the night he planned a surprise and Rosalie had been avoiding him. He couldn’t shake the feeling he had crossed a line, said too much, or let something show that shouldn’t have. Nathan was his best friend, even if their marriage was arranged. Brad had no business forming deeper feelings for Rosalie. But he couldn’t help it. And he couldn’t bear the thought of losing her friendship

  • Married To The crippled Alpha    chapter 31

Chapter 31Rosalie’s POV As if a switch had been flipped, I was suddenly me again. “Guess my time is up” Elerein mumbled before me and I almost glared at her.Almost.But my eyes were locked in the deadly stare of the Alpha. If looks could kill I would have been six feet under.I stumbled back half a step, disoriented, just in time to see Daphne drop to the ground in a dramatic heap. She burst into sobs.“I—I didn’t even do anything,” she wailed, clutching her cheek. “She just attacked me!”Of course at a time like this the Alpha had to show up, how much of this had he seen, she was the one who attacked first, I was acting in self defense.Hell, I didn't do anything.Elerein had slapped her, not me. But try explaining to other people that a ghost possessed your body to defend your honor. The Alpha’s shoes thundered against the floor as he stormed toward us, his expression dark filled with venom.“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” he thundered.I took a step back. “Alpha, I—”
