127. Talk of two hearts

Roseline's POV

As he moved his face closer to mine, my heart raced in my chest, and the world around us faded away. The anticipation of his lips meeting mine was almost overwhelming, and I could feel the electric tension in the air.

Our bodies were squeezed tightly. But then, just when our lips were mere inches apart, he stopped. My heart sank, and confusion washed over me.

Huh?

Our eyes met, and I saw a flicker of hesitation in his gaze. The moment hung suspended in time, and I held my breath, waiting for him to continue. But instead, he abruptly sat up, placing a reassuring hand on my back to steady me.

I slowly slid down his body and settled back on the bed, my heart heavy with disappointment and confusion. His sudden change in demeanor left me feeling lost and hurt.

But then I realized it wasn't a sudden change in him. I made scenarios in my head.

He moved ahead and paused, shaking his head slightly, as if trying to clear his thoughts. He sat on the edge of the bed, seemingly lost
