Chapter 1

WOUNDS

"Ahh! Faster Terrence!"

"Like this? Huh?"

"Yes! Yes! Oh God you're so big! Ahh.. Shit!.."

Corazon tried to cover her ears with a pillow so she wouldn't hear the deafening moans coming from the other room but it was no use at all.

"I'm cumming baby.." Said her husband's hoarse voice.

"Me too! Shit! Ohh Fuck.."

After a few minutes, the grunting and body slamming sounds disappeared.  Perhaps they had finished what they were doing and fell asleep while she was still sitting on the floor at the edge of the bed with tears in her eyes. Well, who wouldn't?  Her husband is inside that room fucking his mistress while all she could do was cry helplessly on the corner listening to what was happening.

It's been seven months since the union between the Saavedra and Villaluna happened and here she is suffering from her decision of pursuing her marriage with Terrence. Her husband never once cared for her. He is always mad or ignores her all the time. There are times when Terrence would hurt her physically and what's worse is he brings his mistresses in their own house.

Their rooms were separated too because he doesn't want her near him. With teary eyes, she looked at their wedding photo which was only displayed in her room. She can picture how happy she was at that time, very different from Terrence's gloomy expression.

She thought that Terrence only said those words of making her suffer because he was still on the verge of his emotion but she turned out wrong. The marriage once she dreamed turned out to be a nightmare and a living hell. It felt like her heart was numbing from pain, very different from what she felt the first time she saw Terrence near their hacienda years ago.

(Flashback)

"Ouch!" The little Corazon groaned in pain after she stumbled on a small rock on the road. She tried to stand up but ended up failing after she saw blood slowly gushing out from her wounded knee that made her cry..

"What happened to you kiddo?"

She immediately looked up and saw a young man standing infront of her having the most beautiful light gray eyes she had ever seen in her entire life. The teenager bent down and looked at her knee with concern in his eyes.

"Come, I'll treat your wound," he offered but she couldn't move nor uttered a single word and remained dumbfounded.

But her eyes widened when he suddenly picked her up and put her on a white horse then brought her to the big tree between their estate and the Saavedra's. The stranger gathered some kind of leaves and pounded it with a stone before putting it on her wound.

"Ouch! It hurts!"

"Sorry, sorry, I didn't mean it..." the teenager apologized then blew her wound softly.

Maybe it was because she was still young or driven by her imagination due to her admiration for the stranger at a young age that she thought his breath had a magic spell which made the pain disappear.

"What's your name?"  he asked after treating her.

"C—corazon…Corazon Villaluna," she shyly introduced herself.

"Really? So that big sugarcane field belongs to you," the teenager pointed to their wide land.

She nodded and looked at the young man.

"Nice, I'm Terrence Mikael Saavedra," he introduced himself and extended his palm for a handshake.  She reluctantly accepted it and when their skin touched, she felt a happiness she couldn't explain.

"By the way, this is Leo," he pointed to the white horse where the two of them rode a while ago.

She smiled and so did he. That made her realize how handsome the young man is.  Ever since that day, she has always been secretly waiting for Leo to pass by on the road to see the handsome Terrence Mikael Saavedra.

(End of FlashBack)

Now she was laughing at herself. Who would have thought that the man who treated a small wound on her knee will carve a deep cut wounds to her in the future not only physically but on her emotional state too. She wiped her tears away and stood up. She shouldn't be sad because Terrence is hers legally. She was his wife and it was her dream to marry him—the man she loved since her childhood days.

Corazon curled up in bed in a fetal position as she shut her eyes and forced herself to sleep. She needs to wake up early and prepare breakfast for her husband because they don't have any helpers at home. Terrence fired everyone and handed her the responsibility from cleaning, laundry, cooking and more. Although their parent's opposed her husband's decision, all of them had shut down after she agreed to him.

The next day she woke up early and started cooking, preparing bacon, hotdogs and fried eggs as well as fried rice.  She also made toasted bread.  It didn't take long for her to finish and all that was missing was his favorite coffee.

From the kitchen she saw Terrence coming down the stairs.  Corazon stared at her husband with his messy hair down to his muscular body wearing a shirt paired by sweatpants but her heart clenched in pain upon seeing he was accompanied by the woman he was with last night.

She looked so sexy with her bodycon dress that she can't help comparing herself to her. The woman was so much better looking than her. Upon taking good care of her husband, she lost time for herself.

"Aren't you gonna stop by for breakfast?" Terrence asks the woman softly. Something she never heard from him even just once.

"I'm afraid I can't, Dad must have been looking for me," the woman replied flirtatiously and mockingly looked at her way.

She looks so familiar. If she wasn't mistaken, the woman was the daughter of the current governor and this woman knew Terrence was married yet she still has the audacity to come into their house.

"You sure?"

"Yup! Don't tell me you missed me right already?"

Terrence chuckled "...of course! Who wouldn't? You were so good last night.."

She saw how Terrence snaked his arms around the woman's waist and reached for a kiss on the lips. Avoiding to witness her husband's betrayal with her own two eyes she turned her face to the other side of the kitchen.

Couple of minutes later, she heard the woman leave. She wiped the tears that streamed down her face unconsciously so that Terrence won't see it. For him it was just a petty dramatic nonsense action she makes. Terrence entered the dining room and looked at what she had prepared then turned to her frowning.

"Where's my fucking coffee?" He coldly asked.

She blinked and immediately panicked. Because she was busy staring at them earlier, she forgot what she was about to do. When she was about to turn to the coffee maker, she accidentally dropped the coffee cup.

It created a loud noise throughout the whole room.

Terrence immediately approached her while looking at her with an eye dagger. "Stupid! That's the only thing you could offer me and yet you still can't do it properly?!"

"I—I'm sorry Terrence.. I didn't mean to. I will just clean it up immediately.." She said in a soft voice that almost turned into a whisper.

Terrence sighed heavily. "No, make my coffee first, before you pick that mess up. Hurry!"

She almost jumped upon hearing him almost shout at her and accidentally hit a broken glass piece. She just ignored it and continued what she must do to please her husband.

After placing the coffee next to him, she cleaned the broken glasses on the floor and stood at one side of the kitchen while watching her husband eating zestfully. Even if Terrence treats her like a slave, she is still happy as long as she can tend to his needs. In that way she can feel her role as his wife.

"Stop smiling like an idiot and leave Corazon!"

"S—sorry.."

She hurriedly left the area and sat in the living room waiting for him to finish his food. For several months they've been living together, never once did they share a meal together. She abides in everything her husband wants to avoid a fight between them.

She loves him so much and never loses her hope that one day, he will learn to love her like she does.

Corazon reached for the medicine kit to tend her wound. She smiled bitterly upon realizing she was no longer the little Corazon she used to be whom Terrence would treat when wounded.
