chapter eleven

"Stop!"

She quickly slammed her foot on the breaks making the car's tires screech on the tar road. Sending me almost flying through the windshield.

"I'm sorry", she apologized looking scared and guilty. I ignored her, opening the car door and hopping out.

"Go back", I told her, still aiming the gun at her through her window.

Quickly she put the car in reverse and backed out of my street till her car was far enough from me that I couldn't see. I turned and started running up the mountain road to my father's house. I'm sure they are still out there looking for me and man was it a long walk up this road. Our neighbors houses looked so appealing as I continued up. The bright lights and lively looking unlike my parents house, that their driveway was literally calling to me. Distracted, I didn't even hear the car horn blaring at me from behind.

"Thea!" Honk. That's my mother's voice. Quickly I turned. Her blue minivan coming into my line of sight immediately.

"Mama?" I ran up to the pass
