I held the papers in my shaky hands. I felt my leg wobble. My father wants to sever ties with me.

Evelyn felt dizzy, but she knew she couldn't succumb to her father; he was only looking for a way to kick her out so he could take over her mother's company permanently, but she didn't want her mother's company to be taken over by greedy people who only seek profit and couldn't continue its legacy.

She should have taken over her mother's company a long time ago, according to her late mother, Camila's will, which says she could only inherit her assets when she turned 21, but was always discouraged by her father and stepmother, Georgia, who always told her she was still too young to run a company.

It all suddenly made sense, they were looking for the right time and excuse to kick her out.

She didn't know why her father had suddenly changed. When her mother was still alive, their family of three was very harmonious, and they seemed like the ideal couple.

Her father would always carry her on his shoulders to play in the park on weekends, she used to be so happy then.

But that one accident shattered her happy family. After her mother died, her father started changing. He soon brought Georgia, his mistress, along with their illegitimate daughter, Madison, who was one year younger than me. I didn't understand back then but now I do.

Madison looked innocent and would often initiate playing with me, but she soon started having eyes for my things, first my toys, then my clothes, then she said she wanted my room and of course, my stepmother Georgia made sure she got them all, and whenever I complained to my father he would say I should indulge her since I'm the eldest.

Soon after the only clothes I had were clothes Madison grew tired of wearing. Sometimes I wish things went back to the way they used to be when my mother was still alive.

With tears in my eyes, I shook my head firmly refusing to sign the papers, but did I have a choice?

With a sneer, my father called his guards and the two burly men with his orders forcibly dipped my thumb in ink, then pressed it on the paper with my name, ignoring my desperate cries.

Throw her out. My father spat coldly before walking upstairs with my stepmother trailing behind him with a smirk.

Madison's pov

Madison stopped the guards, walking towards me. I looked at her expectantly, thinking she would at least help me, but her words shocked me to the bone.

Sis....did you like the photo-shopped pictures? I spent quite a lot on them, you know. Madison whispered in my ear.

I watched as Evelyn's face turned paper, as the illegitimate daughter of the Reed family I have gotten all the things I have now by acting pitiful while Evelyn on the other hand didn't have to do a thing to please others she is always appreciated by people while I'm always cast aside by people in the upper class who didn't want to be anywhere near a ' mistress's daughter '.

But now, I've won and everything will eventually belong to me. Madison said to me.

Evelyn's pov

I suddenly realised Madison had planned everything, no wonder she, who had always disliked me, suddenly asked that we go out to have fun and ' bond ' as sisters.

My face drained of colour as I watched Madison leave. I couldn't even produce a sound as the guards dragged me out of the house with my bag, which contained a few worn-out clothes.

I crouched down, outside the huge gate, sobbing uncontrollably. I reached out to my neck to feel my pendant, trying to seek comfort as I would always do whenever I'm sad. But this time something felt off; my pendant... It's gone!

Feeling the emptiness, I sobbed harder. I had never felt this broken before. The pendant was the only thing I had left of my mother, it made me feel her presence even though she is long gone.

Lucas strode calmly into the company with his hands in his pockets, he was wearing a light pink suit with diamond cufflinks, the moment he entered the female staff started gushing over his beauty, even the male staff couldn't help but stare at him in admiration, he was already used to the excessive amount of attention he received as he walked towards the elevator he gave the female staffs emerging a flirty smile that made her legs almost give out and she blushed really hard that her face turned red almost immediately.

Oh my gosh, the Vice President looks so handsome. A new staff member said her eyes were shining with admiration.

I love him so much I wish he could be my boyfriend for just one day. Another beamed.

If I could have sex with him for just one night I'd die happy ......

I love Logan Knight more than anything, seeing his handsome profile every morning makes my heart bleed with joy........

Lucas opened the door to his brother's office to see the head of the finance department, Clara, almost in tears, and his assistant, Andrew nervously clutching the files in his hands as if afraid of being noticed.

Lucas sat down on the couch making himself comfortable.

Soon after, Clara greeted him and walked out dejectedly, and after some instructions, Andrew also greeted him and turned to leave, closing the door behind him.

He is cold and has a detached demeanor. Whilst he likes dark colours, Lucas is quite different, he loves to wear bright coloured clothes like Orange and pink. Lucas has bright eyes, a chiseled jawline, well-defined eyebrows, and always has a charming smile on his face.

Um... We checked famous jewelry stores and smaller stores and their records over the years, and even imported jewelry records, including auctions, but we didn't find a matching jewelry; it's like it doesn't exist. Lucas explained.

Logan didn't say anything and just fiddled with the pendant around his fingers. His face held an expression Lucas didn't understand; he could never guess what his brother was thinking.
