12. Minefield

Dean Frost's POV

I'm not surprised she responds to my kiss, since I'm aware she's attracted to me. What I did expect was a bit of resistance at the beginning. However, here she is, surrendered to the passion which floods us.

She has remembered me, I could see it in her expression when I asked her and for that, I have caught her off guard.

Damned woman! If I had known earlier I would have kissed her from the start.

As I have grown accustomed to, Leah Falco once again baffles me.

Frenzy overtakes my senses, I drag her onto my lap and refuse to let go of her lips. I didn't let her breathe, but I fed her with my air, my anxiety and my desire. However, I find it impossible to contain the groan of pain when I make a sudden gesture with my wounded arm.

That seems to be the trigger to make her react and she walks away from me in an apparent state of shock.

"Damn it!", I gasp again in pain and at the same time enraged to break the aura.

"Careful," she walks over in alarm to stop my movements.
