Ariel's POV

Next Day ...

Thursday Morning 8:00am ...

I came down from the taxi and looked up at the huge building.

I guess I'm doing this, I exhaled and pressed the bell at the gate .

While waiting for someone to get the gate , I almost turned to run away but I had one thousand and one reasons not to. My legs remained rooted to the floor.

I loved my mother so much and I'll do whatever it is that I can for her.

Including marrying a total stranger.

My mother has a rich younger brother , not just rich but rich rich , I wonder why he's doing this to us though.

The sound of the opening gate brought me back to reality and I looked up.

"Ohh, it's you" he said and opened it wider for me to come in.

"Is madam in" I asked and he nodded.

"Alright, I'll just go see her real quick" I said and walked inside.

I walked in slowly and took notes of the surrounding, these people are filthy rich.

And rich people are most of the times, bad news.

One of the helps ushered me into the living room and I greeted everyone of the helps I saw with a small smile.

To some extent I was familiar with them.

"I'll go get her" one of them said and I nodded.

"I knew you'd come back" I heard her say and I turned to look at the direction I heard the voice from.

"Give us some privacy" she said to the helps in the living room , as they all scurried away.

It looked like she had different helps for every single house chore, because I'm wondering why they are so many here.

As usual she looked very regal and from her appearance I could tell she was about to go out.

"Good morning ma'am" I greeted and she smiled.

"Call me Belinda dear"

"Come have a seat " she said as she walking to a sofa and gestured for me to do the same.

I sat gently opposite her.

"I like you" she said.

"And I know you have what it takes to help my son" she added.

"Help your son?!"

"It's nothing serious" , she dismissed with a small smile

"I'll marry him but I have one more tiny request" I said to her

"Go on"

"My mother is actually really sick and we need to pay her hospital bills in less than two days to save her life" I explained.

"Oh!, I see why you changed your mind" she said and I nodded slowly.

"I actually hoped you'd change your mind and I'm happy you did" she said.

"It's fine though, I'll settle every bills you have to pay, all you have to do is marry my son" she said and I nodded.

"I'll do it " I finally said after exhaling deeply.

"Great!, That's good then"

"I'll introduce you guys soon and then you'll start working on Monday"

"Does your son know about this whole thing" I asked .

"Is he okay with it" I added

Her lips curved into a small smile.

"You don't have to worry about that"

"Forward the hospital bank details to me , I'll make payments in your name" she said and I smiled gratefully.

"I trust that you won't abscond" she said.

"No , I won't"

"These conversations has been recorded though for security reasons", she said.

"In case you decide to bail"

"Thank you so much Ma'am Belinda" I said and she smiled .

"Thank you too" 

"I really need to leave now, I can drop you off if you want" she said, I shook my head.

"No it's fine" I said.

"Alright, I'll contact you soon" she said and I thanked her again and walked out.

I exhaled deeply as I walked out of the main gate .

This is it!!.

There wasn't any taxi around this area so I just decided to walk until I get to the main road.

Xavier's POV

At the office ...

"I won't blame your mom though"

"Which mother would want a philandering son" Dad said and I rolled my eyes.

"Whose side are you on" I asked.

"The right side" he replied

"So you're in support of me marrying a total stranger" I asked .

"What if she's as ugly as hell, how do you expect me to cope with that" 

"I trust your mom better than that" he said .

"Can't you just help talk to her not to push through with it" I groaned.

"She listens to you Dad"

"No, I actually promised not to interfere"

"I'm gonna let her do what she wants and see how it actually helps" he said .

"Dad!!"

"Son!!"

"Just go with the flow , you might actually fall in love"

"I'm pretty sure I won't" 

"Never say Never"

"That aside, how's work going" he asked.

"Fine Dad"

"Have you been able to get Beurna corp to partner with you" he asked.

"Not yet dad, but very soon"

"Alright , I trust you"

"I've got to go now, let's talk later" he said and ended the call .

"Where's the soon to be groom" Miguel said walking into my office.

"Can you for once be serious" I said rolling my eyes.

"Who would have thought" he said laughing.

"Probably this would teach you to respect women" he said and I scoffed.

Rspect indeed.

"So she would be your assistant also?!"

"Yeah, so I heard also" I replied and he bursted out laughing.

"What's funny" I asked irked by what he was actually doing.

"I'm sorry man, I'm sorry but it's really funny" he said in between laughs.

I toned him off and continued what I was doing before he came in.

Ariel's POV

"So did you meet him" Olivia asked as soon as I walked inside the house.

"No I did not"

"Not even a picture?!"

"Nothing!"

"She already payed for mother's hospital bills , the hospital called to inform that the surgery will commence tommorow" I explained to her.

"Thank goodness" she said exhaling in relief.

She walked towards me with a cup of water .

"Here" she said stretching the cup to me.

"Thank you" I replied and drowned all of the water at a go!.

"We'll be fine Ariel"

"Yeah , I hope so" I replied and reclined in my seat.

"We need to be at the hospital early tommorow" I said and she nodded.

I never thought my life was gonna take this kind of unexpected turn.

By Monday I'd be a married woman, who would have thought of that!.
