I watched in both awe and horror as streaks of lighting escaped my fingers and brightened up the room. It was so beautiful but also slightly terrifying. I had no idea how I was doing this or if it was even me. Do I have...powers? The word tasted bitter in my mouth and I quickly swallowed it back. No one must know about this. The people here are anything but nice. The lighting died down and I sighed. I balanced my weight on a stool at the center of the room. I barely had time to relax before a deep voice resounded, "What did you just do?" I stiffened at the sound of the voice. I didn't need to turn around before I knew who it was. That voice had chased me up from bed at night. I turned slowly to face the person. Alpha Perrin stepped into the light, an indecipherable expression on his face. "You're...the cure." He said, ever so slightly. . . . As the least favorite child of her parents, Quinn was forced to marry a crippled Alpha to settle the war between the two packs, in place of her older sister. She has no idea how her life would soon change. Despite his disability, Alpha Perrin is well known for his ruthlessness and unforgiving attitude. Things took a different turn when Alpha Perrin found out that Quinn could cure him of his ailment. He decided to strike a deal with her. As time went by, the two of them started developing feelings for each other, and then disaster struck. How would the two of them navigate their way through this hardship? Would this tear them apart for good or will they find their way back to each other?

Quinn's pov “No, no, no!!!” I screamed, joking up from the bed with my hair as rough as it could be. Thick sweat trailed all over my body, and my hands were shaking as though there was no tomorrow. My chase paced as my drumming heart, and it got really hard for me to swallow. “What kind of nightmare is this?” I asked, and just then, I heard a banging sound. “BOOM!” The house shook, making my eyes widen. I immediately threw my legs off the bed, holding on to my nightgown as I rushed out of there with worry in mind. “You’ve got to be kidding me,” I said when I got to the living room. My parents, who were leaders of the pack, were already dressed up in their armor, ready for battle. “Mom, Dad, what's going on?” I said with worry imprinted on my face. However, my mother rushed towards me and grabbed my shoulders. “You better save my daughter. You better!” She urged, pushing me towards the way I came. “Take Laila and carry her to the bunker. Do you hear me?” She asked, and I nodded with my lips slightly parted as I rushed to my sister's room in order to save her. Laila was the elder daughter, but I was treated with more disdain. My mother always said I was the reason her marriage almost fell apart, well maybe because I didn't look anything like my parents. They had to run a DNA test, which was a lot of trouble, according to my mother. However, the test proved I was their daughter. My father, on the other hand, never saw me as his daughter, unlike my sister, who was an epitome of beauty. She was treated like a queen, and I went to serve her. “Laila!” I screamed, running up the stairs like a mad woman. It was better to carry out my mother's orders than receive the beating of a lifetime. I rushed to her door, and because it was locked, I had to bang on it several times before the door was opened. “Hey bitch, I'm trying to get my beauty sleep!” She screamed, but I pulled her arm, dragging her out of the room. “We don't have time. The pack is under attack, and Mom said to get you to the bunker for safety.” The sleep in her eyes seemed to disappear. “What?!” I nodded. “You heard me, so you better buckle up and get ready to face whatever might come your way.” This was the only time I got to speak my mind to her. Once I had said those words, we continued making our way to the bunker. However, at the next turn, a group of men spotted us. I paused, it was as though time froze before it played again. “Run!!!” I screamed, and It seemed like she followed my voice because Laila ran as fast as her legs could carry her while I followed behind. “Ugh!” She growled, falling to the ground, making me halt. I didn't know what she saw, but she started pushing herself backward. “Damn it, we're surrounded,” she expressed, making my heart skip a beat. “Mother's going to kill me.” I was more worried about my mother not being happy with my sister being caught. “Come on. There's always a way!!!” I yelled and started running, but also bumped into a huge man who carried weapons in his hands, making me shake in fear. “You both are coming with us.” Before I could process what was going on, we carried and placed on their shoulders, kicking and screaming, but they didn't let us go. The moment we got out of the pack house, we were greeted with the stench of blood, and black smoke that filled the air. Our eyes saw the red fumes of fire that burned, showing there was an invasion. “It's worse than I thought,” I gasped, but the moment was short-lived when my body hit the ground. “Aw!” I cried, and creased lines formed on my forehead as I tried to massage my arm, which hit the floor hard. However, I was grabbed in the neck, making the place grow quiet. The smoke seemed to fade away, and I noticed my sister was also being held with a huge claw up her throat. “Our baby!” My mother screamed and then turned to me with a gaze that showed she wanted to kill me at a spot. My father, on the other hand, seemed in plenty of shock. He dropped his weapon, his eyes fixed on Laila. “Please… please…” my mother cried, and then I heard footsteps. It was enough to get our attention since everyone had turned quiet, including my parent's army. “You all think you're so smart right? I must commend you, Alpha James. You know how to back out of an agreement.” My father shook his head. “I'm sorry. I was taking time to think about it. What you asked for was so hard to give. The allegiance wasn’t a problem but what you asked for to seal it.” He moved closer to my dad, and landed a slap on my father's cheek, causing him to go on his knees. “You know what he wanted. He asked for your eldest daughter to be married to me. What's wrong with that? Why is it so hard when you have two daughters? You should be happy your allegiance was to be sealed with your daughter, and nothing else. Do you hear me?!” My father was unable to answer that question which caused the strange man to boil further. “You all are at my mercy now. You better hand over your daughter to me, or else!” My mother helped my father up and pulled him away. It seemed they were having some kind of conversation, but then I didn't know what they were talking about. All of a sudden, she turned back to face us with tears in her eyes. “My eldest daughter….” She cried and then rushed towards me. My eyes widened because I knew I wasn't the eldest daughter. I was the youngest. However, I was made to serve my elder sister because of her beauty. “I'm sorry, but you have to do this to save the pack.” She said out loud, and then moved in to whisper into my eyes. “If you betray us, I'll kill you with my bare hands, so you better play along. Do you understand me?” Little did I know my family was a group of actors. “Sister!!!” Laila, who never cared about me, started to cry. How she got those tears was a mystery to me. Even Dad maintained a cool expression as though he couldn't bear to let me go. “Enough!” Beta Dylan, who was also feared, roared as he was known for yelling, making everywhere quiet again. He moved to stand in front of me, his eyes scanning me. I was sweating so much, my hands were wet, and my heart kept drumming until he turned to face my father. “You have done well. At least this should save your head and that of every pack member.” Then he turned to face the guards, pointing at me. “Take this one home. The alpha has a lot of things he plans to do with her.” I felt like the ground should open and swallow me up. “A lot of things?” I muttered being dragged away. “I wonder what.” Those weren't the only questions I had in mind about the situation. “Why did he want a woman from the pack, and what was my awaited fate with the well-known crippled alpha?”Two years later…The sky was a soft blue, clear and calm, with only a few white clouds drifting above. The sun was warm, not too hot, just perfect for a day outside. The wind carried the scent of flowers and fresh grass. Everything felt peaceful. Safe. Alive.I sat on the front steps of our cottage, watching our son play in the garden. His laughter was like music. Every time he giggled, it filled my chest with warmth I never knew I could feel.He had my eyes but Quinn’s smile. That wide, bright smile that could light up an entire room. His hair was the same soft brown as mine, but his spirit? That was all Quinn. Brave. Curious. Kind.“Mama! Look!” he shouted, holding up a small yellow flower in his tiny hand. “I found a sun!”Quinn walked out of the house just in time to hear him. She smiled, her face glowing, and bent down to kiss the top of his head.“That’s a dandelion, baby,” she said gently. He looked up at her, puzzled. “It looks like the sun.”Quinn laughed, her eyes meeting mi
PERRIN.The sun had barely risen when Quinn and I arrived at the clearing. The air felt heavy, thick with the weight of what was coming. It was impossible to ignore the tension that hung between us, but there was no turning back now. The battle had been set in motion long before we even stepped foot in the Hollow.Theodore was waiting for us. I could feel it in the way the trees seemed to hold their breath, in the way the wind had gone still. The world around us felt like it was frozen in time, as if holding onto the last moments before everything changed.“We’re here,” Quinn said, her voice steady but low. She was ready, even though I could see the fear in her eyes. We both were. Ready, yet afraid. Afraid of what we might lose. Afraid of the unknown.I nodded, tightening my grip on her hand. “Let’s end this.”We moved forward, our footsteps soft on the ground. It felt like every step took us deeper into a world that no longer made sense—one where shadows crept around us, and danger w
PERRINThe Hollow had changed her. I saw it in the way she moved, in the way she looked at the world. The old Quinn was still there, but she had become something else. Something stronger. Something that made my heart both swell with pride and tighten with fear. The Hollow had given her power, but at a cost. A price only she truly understood. We walked side by side, the silence between us comfortable, yet heavy. I could tell Quinn was still processing everything. She didn’t talk much, and neither did I. But I knew her well enough to read the subtle signs. Her hands were clenched, the muscles in her jaw tight. She was holding something back—maybe it was the weight of the trials she’d just endured. Maybe it was the burden of the promise she had made to the First Luna. But I wasn’t going to ask her about it. Not yet. Not unless she was ready. As we stepped farther from the Hollow, the air felt different. Less oppressive, more open. The trees around us were taller now, more like the famili
PERRINThe night felt colder than usual. The stars were hidden behind thick clouds, and the wind was biting as it swept through the trees. I stood at the edge of the Hollow, waiting for Quinn. The quiet was unsettling. There were no sounds of animals, no rustle of leaves in the wind, just silence. I felt it, the weight of the moment pressing down on me. What had she seen in there? What had she done?I ran my fingers through my hair, pacing back and forth. The last few days had been a blur—days of planning, of wondering if we were ready. But now, everything felt different. The air had changed. And Quinn... she had changed. I could feel it in the way she moved, in the way she looked at me. She was carrying something now. Something heavier than the world itself. The veil rippled, and then I saw her. She stepped through slowly, like the world had shifted beneath her feet. Her eyes were different—clearer, more focused—but there was something else in them too. Something deeper.“Quinn,” I s
QUINNThe forest felt different now. After what the Keeper told me, I could feel it. The air was tighter. The silence heavier. Every step I took through the Hollow felt watched, even though I saw no eyes. I kept my hand on my belly, grounding myself with every breath. He was still. Quiet. Listening, maybe. Or sleeping. I couldn’t tell anymore. But I could feel him there, wrapped inside me like the last light in a dark world.I kept walking. There was a place the Keeper told me to go next. She didn’t explain much, only that it was deep in the Hollow. She called it the Pool of Remembering. Said it would show me what I needed, not what I wanted. That didn’t comfort me. But I didn’t come here for comfort. I came to understand what was coming and how to stop it.The trees grew closer together as I walked, their roots twisting like claws over the ground. I had to step carefully. A wrong move could trap my foot or break my balance. Still, I moved forward. The shadows grew thicker, but the de
QUINNThe days in the Hollow passed like a dream. I couldn’t tell how much time had gone by. The sun and moon moved above me, but the way they shifted in the sky didn’t feel normal. Time here was strange. It stretched and folded in on itself. Sometimes I would wake and think it was the same day, only to realize the trees had moved, or the air had changed.I stayed inside the stone circle most of the time. It was the safest place. The Keeper said the stones still held the oldest magic, and while they couldn’t stop everything, they could slow things down. Especially the thing that was looking for me.The baby had grown stronger. I could feel him more now. Not just his kicks or movements, but his presence. Sometimes when I sat still, I felt his energy wrapping around mine, like he was holding me back. Like he was trying to comfort me.And sometimes, he would send me feelings. Flashes of fear, curiosity, or warmth. I didn’t know how, but we were connected in ways I didn’t understand. Mayb
