ANASTASIA

I stepped down the stairs into the living room. Dominic had just come in and was loosening his tie. His shirt was half-unbuttoned, revealing the dark tattoo ink on his chest.

I moved closer. He stopped a few feet away and turned to look at me. My fists tightened at my sides as I swallowed hard, my eyes darting around the room.

“Let’s try it again,” I said.

He raised an eyebrow, puzzled. “What?”

I could have died of embarrassment. I gulped, staring at the floor like it might open

  • Marry me; The Billionaire's contract    Anything at all

DOMINIC“Clean this up,” I ordered before walking out of the room.Rain was already coming down heavily, droplets landing on my suit as I stepped outside. I looked around, but Anastasia was nowhere in sight. The car had been parked some distance away, and with the trees surrounding the area, she could have wandered off in any direction.Fuck.Maybe I should have given her a phone.“Anastasia!”There was no response.I pulled out my phone and called Gordon. A few moments later, he came out of the building with an umbrella. He held it above my head.“Find her,” I ordered. He nodded and immediately moved in the opposite direction.I started walking through the trees, scanning the area as I went. The rain had turned the ground into mud, making every step slippery. Wet branches brushed against my shoulders while bushes scraped against my trousers as I pushed farther in.“Anastasia!”Nothing.I kept going, following the faint path through the trees until I heard something.A sharp breath. • Marry me; The Billionaire's contract    Accent

ANASTASIA “What are you doing here?” Alicia glanced at me before looking back at Dominic. “I was just leaving.” She stood from the couch and gave me a brief hug. “I'll see you later, Ana.” Then she walked past Dominic and left the room. Dominic turned towards the stairs, but I stopped him. “I want to be involved in the investigation too.” He paused and looked back at me. “It has to do with me too,” I said. “I'll handle it.” I stepped closer. “It's my case. I want to find out who would want to do… something like that to me.” He studied me for a moment, then sighed. “We're going out.” I raised a brow. “Okay.” “Go get changed.” My eyes dropped to my shorts and tube top before I looked back at him. “What's wrong with what I'm wearing?” He raised a brow, his expression stoic. I stared at him for a moment before sighing. “Fine.” I went upstairs to change, and when I came back down, Dominic was already waiting for me. He didn't say anything as I followed him outside and got

  • Marry me; The Billionaire's contract    Meeting

DOMINIC “Sir, the investors are requesting an urgent meeting.” “When?” “They're already waiting at the company. They said it's regarding the situation with Mrs. Blackwood and the effect it's having on the company.” “Tell them I'll be there.” I ended the call and headed toward the door. On my way out, I glanced toward the balcony. Anastasia was peeking through the window. The moment she noticed me looking, she quickly closed the shutters. A smirk crossed my face as I continued outside and got into the car. When I arrived at the company, I stepped out and headed inside, taking the elevator to the executive floor. My assistant was waiting for me when the doors opened. “What happened outside?” “The paparazzi came after the news broke. Security managed to chase most of them away, and some were arrested after refusing to leave. They made a mess before they were cleared out.” I looked toward the entrance. “Tell security to keep a closer watch.” “Yes, sir.” I w

ANASTASIA Before I could regain my balance, Dominic pulled me against his chest, his other arm wrapping around my waist as he shielded me from the reporters with his body. The questions immediately shifted toward him. “Did you know what Mrs. Brooks is capable of?” “She tried to kill a child!” “Do you plan on ending the marriage?” Dominic didn't answer any of them. His bodyguards pushed through the crowd, creating a path for us, and he guided me toward his car. He opened the door and led me inside before slamming it shut. A few seconds later, he walked around the car and slipped in beside me. The noise from outside immediately became muffled once the doors were closed. The car drove out of the parking lot as soon as the doors were shut. “I thought I told you to stay out of this,” Dominic said. “They needed me there. Rita called me. Leonard was causing a scene, and nobody could handle him.” Dominic leaned back against the seat. “You should know that being seen in

  • Marry me; The Billionaire's contract    Saved

ANASTASIA I sank lower into the bathtub, letting the warm water ease some of the tension in my body as I stared at the ceiling, my mind still stuck on everything that had happened. Why would Eunice do something like that? I couldn't understand it. She had her baby and she was going to live her happily ever after with that moron, so why plot against me again? But going as far as threatening her own baby's life with whatever drug she took, was simply crazy. My thoughts went back to that day at the office. I hadn't told Dominic I was going there, but it hadn't crossed my mind that anything would happen. I only knew something was wrong when Rita called me. “Ana, you need to come here,” came Rita's frantic voice. “What happened?” “Leonard is causing a mess. Nobody can handle him.” I could hear screams and objects shattering from the line. “What do you mean? What is happening over there?” “He's breaking things, screaming at everyone, and he won't listen to anyone. I've tried talki

ANASTASIA“He just has to show up late, dosen't he” I whisper, glancing toward the entrance—no sign of Dominic. The hall is huge, flooded with people. I feel painfully out of place, maybe because I’ve avoided them for so long. Everyone has something to say about me.Hushed whispers about me, yet lo

  • Marry me; The Billionaire's contract    Not the man I married

ANASTASIAI stare up at the mansion in front of me, it’s huge, the building standing tall, representing power and everything the owner stands for. The air carries the faint smell of rain, old money, and fresh roses from the garden surrounding the mansion. The building reminds me of him: tall, big,

  • Marry me; The Billionaire's contract    Married

ANASTASIA “Ana, Ana. Come on, it’s almost nine.” I yanked the sheets over my head to muffle Maria’s persistent voice. “Jesus Christ, Maria, let me sleep,” I yelped when the blanket was torn from my body, the cold morning air of the city taking its place.“Give me back my blanket. It’s so cold,”

ANASTASIA“Marry me, Miss Brooks,” Dominic says, like he’s offering me an invitation to a soap opera.I stare at the contract in front of me, as if staring hard enough would make it somehow disappear, turn into something that isn’t a marriage contract to the most condescending person on earth – Dom
