Chapter 4: He is rude to her

The dinner went well as we don't talk too much for reason that it is better to do that for now. To avoid conversations are too awkward for both of us. Sometimes I find him glancing at me and I was choked on drinking my water, finding myself unfocused because of him.

"Stop staring at me! What's the problem?" Raina's uttered as she swallow her food.

"Nothing! I was just looking at how average you are, you are such a disgusting...." he answered.

"You! mean... Fine, I get it! I will never be your type. That's given! But hubby, we're already married...Whether you like it or not, this average girl is already your wife!" Raina's teased him, her head went closer to his ear and whispered:

"We will be stuck together forever, dearest husband! So learn to deal with it. I'm done. Goodnight. " Raina said, taunting to kiss his cheeks but she did it more boldly by brushing it intentionally.

Xavier on the other hand was controlling his eagerness to pull this girl into his lap. He needed to take everything slowly. He doesn't want her to be frightened by his taking advances. Then she went out of the dining area mildď stomping her foot and march to go to her room.

"What did you do again?" Tony who was about to serve them water saw that Raina went to her room. Without finishing her fill.

"Haven't you seen it? The child needs pampering, she's throwing tantrums just now!" Xavier gestures his left hand upstairs.

"Are you admitting that you are old enough to be her husband?" Tony provokes him. He glances at his assistant/friend with a dagger looking as if he could kill him instantly.

"I'm only 27! I'm not that old... And for the record, she is just one of my charity cases! If not for the fact that she needed shelter that night I will never accept her." Xavier turned around and was about to follow her.

"She's different from the girls you have been with before... Why don't you give your relationship a chance besides you two are made for each other, and you both have sparked... For you not to call old, don't act like one! " Tony uttered before Xavier reached the top of the stairs going to his study room.

He became speechless in Tony's opinion. He is right, he needed to be patient with his little wife. He can't deny that somehow he is right! Why is it that when it comes to his wife his mature way of thinking is dropping?

Everything that his family teaches him about being a gentleman went in vain when she faced him.

He is such a nuisance... Unlike his other siblings especially his older brother Zandro, he is the most controversial of all of them it is because of his experience with dating and sex.

For him, girls and sex is just plaything.

Date, sex with no strings attached. That was before when he is still single...

But now that he was already married, there was a change in his usual thing... He became more eager to go home early to see his little wife.

"Have you searched the area where they lived?! And where the fuck is that daughter of his? Don't stop searching for a clue until you found her!" A man in his 40s wearing a suit, a man with a dignified appearance and looking young despite his age this man is the narcotics head in the police department of Country L or LDEA (Country L Drug Enforcement Agency) Director General Gregg Haley.

"Sir, we did everything to track his daughter's whereabouts but it seems she is protected by an influential person in that place... We lost track of her... She just went back to the morgue and gave her father a proper burial, that was three days after his father laid in a morgue freezer but after that, she disappeared like bubbles..." Hanz answered his superior's questions...

"Don't stop before Margola does! We are running out of time here, she is our only hope... Do everything you need to point out the place where she was or else she will die just like her father! Do as I say, understand?" Gregg said firmly to his subordinates.

"Yes sir! I'll go back to Country Z maybe she hasn't traveled to another place yet. Especially to the Mover City. For a teenager like her, much ideal to seek help from friends or teachers... I'll start from that circle first since in my investigations she doesn't have many friends since she was a bully victim. She's a castaway from then on..." Hanz stop from what he was about to say.

"What? Because his father is a member of the most wanted organization in the country L and related to Margola?" Gregg was a bit annoyed with what he was about to say. Margola is the leader and the no. 1 most wanted drug dealer in Country L.

"Why do you always safeguard that criminal's daughter? When he was the reason why our Lieutenant fourth class Ali died in that encounter with Margola... And as you said that Ali is your best friend..." Hanz said with emotions.

"This is our sworn duty! What is our under oath? WE CARE, that is our unending commitment to the people and his daughter is the most innocent here! Do I need to explain any further?!" Hanz felt ashamed for being selfish in his statement...

His superior is right, how a person be that selfish to let the girl die just because one of their subordinates died in that unforgettable encounter?

"Sorry, sir... I'll leave you then?" he uttered in an apologetic tone.

"Alright, let me know when you have a lead about her." Gregg reminds him.

"Copy sir!" he answered diligently.

Mr. Haley is seated on his swivel chair again after his loyal deputies, go to do the mission that he asks them to accomplish.

Raina woke up from her deep slumber, she stretches her modest hands up and holds her face. She unhurriedly got up from the bed, tidies it, and went to her windows to cast the curtains on the flank, she take a deep breath and close her eyes as the wind of the morning blew on her fair skin.

"Good Morning! Thanks for another day and the day coming!" She said as the location of the villa was near a forest... Along with it was a very natural place... This is her second day in this house and this is the rare time she has, to admire the place.

To be honest,

She is beyond grateful to this husband of hers because if not for him she may be one of the beggars on the street of Mover City now.

Rosie comes into my room unexpectedly with a maid's uniform in her hand. I was about to greet her good morning but the ways I see it and the way she arrived she is here to ruin my day! So never mind.

"Since you are already awake, let me give you this!" She hostilely handed me the clothing that same as hers. Maids Uniform! I was shocked, I don't want to deal with negativity early today but I was so unlucky!

"What is the meaning of this?" Raina was calm on the surface at the moment, but hiding the storm inside.

Yes, she admits that she was bullied at school always. And she just let everything pass it is because she believes that his father is misunderstood.

But being humiliated at the moment?! No Way! I am the lady boss of the house why would I let it pass?

"Since you will stay here for free, you will serve our master just like one of us!" Rosie said with no dust.

Without knowing that a scene is already brewing, with the door ajar, their exchange of words caught Xavier's attention when he was about to go down to the dining room.

Xavier went near Raina's door but decided not to show himself. He heard Rosie's words and still not moving to help Raina. He wants to see how his little wife deals with her.

"Oh! Did your master tell you to tell me this?" Raina answered back.

"My master is a humble man, of course, he will not say it! But the shame would have been yours, what do you think of yourself huh!? You are nothing to our master. So I have all the means to treat you like this!" Rosie auspiciously answered.

"Oh really! Why don't you call him and will see who will be treated nicely then..."

Rain teasingly uttered, not knowing she stirred Rosie's anger again. She finds this girl annoying, you know... She was supposed to start the day with merry, but now it was just another wishful thinking for her.

"You! you are just a nobody! Just like any random girls he picked on the streets or in a club!" Rosie uttered without any idea what she was talking about but her last word had cut Raina into pieces!

It's true! That she was just any other girl he picked in a club... How can she defend herself? When that is a real score between them...

"I dunno what did I do for you to hate me like this... But I will not tolerate you talking to me like that! You should know where your place is..." Raina uttered in seriousness.

She was about to let it all pass, but her last word struck her this time. "Come out now, Xavier! You've witnessed how bold your workers are when you are not around! Show me how you implement justice in your place..."

The next thing Raina told brought Rosie to realization, Xavier is here?! Listening to their conversation from the start.

I'm dead! Rosie uttered to herself...

The next thing she saw was Xavier standing next to Raina in his formal instance again. It sends shivers down her body, she was the one he was supposed to support. Why? It's deeply hurt to see Xavier taking Raina's side.

"Say it again Rose!" Raina challenges her.

"What?!" Rosie answered

"That I was just some random girl he picked on the streets or in a club..." Raina said loudly enough for him to hear it.

"Rosie, I warn you many times not to bully her, but it seems you never listened until you will know the truth... Nobody had the right to treat my WIFE like that! Even to say that in front of me. Do you understand? If you can't keep up being one of my workers anymore then you should leave." He uttered.

Rosie felt like she has been struck by lightning two times! This is not what she expected... He is his wife? She stays rooted in her place she doesn't know what to do. All she wants now is to stay in his house whatever it takes.

"I'm sorry sir! I won't do that again... Please give me chance, this time I would be good..." She was about to kneel but Xavier hold her and say.

"You don't have to do that! Just go to the kitchen and help Josie prepare our breakfast!" he cut her to what she was about to do.

"Oh! Ok, sir... Excuse me then..." Rose said as she excuse herself from the couples.

"How many girls just like Rose do I need to deal with? Xavier, look! This marriage is not just on paper now... I know it was my fault that I drag you into this... But this whole ordeal is becoming more than what I expected..."

Raina uttered to him, she never heard any response from him instead he comes near her and kissed her on her mouth... And she feels like she was taken to a faraway land where they were the only people in that place.

For the second time, she teaches her how it feels to be in love! Shit, IN LOVE? She doesn't have the right to feel those emotions now... She has a lot of things at hand for now...
