"Leo?" A smooth, flirtatious voice said from behind him as Leo made his way to go to grandpa.

Sydney  stepped over and clasped his arm. "Were you waiting for me here?" She had picked out a dress with an off-the-shoulder neckline just for the event, which made her look more delicate.

Leo grimaced slightly when he saw her  and responded, "No."

Sydney’s  face froze since she didn't expect him to be that straightforward. She spotted a beautiful woman standing next to grandpa Eric before she could say anything, and she felt scared right away.

Mona? Leo’s ex wife? What was she doing here?.. Sydney thought.

Mona was currently turning down grandpa’s  offer to join him on stage. "Grandpa, I can't go up there right now," she said. "

“Why?" Grandpa yelled. “I told you a long time ago that I only see you as my granddaughter-in-law. The rest doesn't matter!"

Mona had only ever gotten warmth from grandpa  after she married Leo for those three years. She could only grin softly now. "Leo and I are divorced now, and Miss Harlow has married him. It should be miss Harlow instead.”

"Pretense right? That’s what you’re good at after all. It should be miss Harlow instead  bla..bla bla… trying to look pitiful to grandpa isn’t it?” Leo, who had somehow come next to them, said.

“I..” Mona tried to talk, but cut short by Sydney.

Sydney looked at her with disbelief and said, "Why are you here?"

Wasn't she in another country? How could she be here?

Sydney grabbed Leo by the arm to hers without thinking about it, to make Mona feel jealous.

Sydney was trying to make her jealous? What a fool!

Over the years, her feelings for Leo had faded, and now, even if she wished them a long and happy life together, it wouldn't move her heart. Mona put on a polite smile and said, "Hello miss Harlow.”

Sydney  interpreted her smile as a challenge, especially after all these years of grandpa Eric’s  dislike for her and his love for Mona. And suddenly Mona was right next to him!

"Hi miss Hunt. I was told you travelled to another country, right? What made you come back all of a sudden? Could it be...” Sydney smiled sweetly as she leaned on Leo’s arm even more and said, "If you have any problems, I can ask Leo to help you."

Mona made a face. She didn't care for Leo anymore, but that didn't mean she could let Sydney  be so rude to her.

"Is that so?" She said with a laugh. “Mrs. Cox really does have a kind heart. She…”

Grandpa scoffed before Mona could even finish her sentence. "She's not Mrs. Cox, and our Cox family's door isn't open to just anyone."

These words made the people around them start to whisper.

Sydney’s cheeks got pale when she heard grandpa’s word and stared at Leo.

His grandfather had always been very biased toward her, and Leo didn't want to overtly go against him. He could only gently pat Sydney’s arm.

Sydney would have usually let it go before, but Mona was standing next to grandpa now! Also... Maybe Leo didn't even realize, but he always appeared to look at Mona seductively without meaning to.

Sydney had done everything she could to make grandpa  happy for years, but he never accepted her. And now Mona was back…

She  was so upset that she yelled, "Grandpa, are you going to turn down the child in my womb too, even if you don't want me?”

Mona gazed right away at Sydney’s stomach.

Leo hesitated and asked Sydney, "Are you pregnant?"

Sydney  looked down shyly and said, "You were drunk one week ago in Paris..."

One week before, Leo had gone to Paris for work, and Sydney had gone with him. Leo was intoxicated at a party hosted by his business partners three day after their arrival in Paris, and woke up the next morning seeing Sydney next to him in bed, naked.

He asked Sydney to take a contraceptive pills before he left for work that morning, and didn’t even  know she didn’t take it.

Leo looked at Mona, and when he saw that she didn't react, a complicated look crossed his face.

Sydney  said, "I know you've always liked kids, and now that we have a symbol of our love, why not give the child a home?"

She saw that Leo wasn't as happy as she had hoped.

Leo loved kids? Was it truly like that? Mona couldn't help but laugh when she heard this.

Leo pressed his lips together. He nodded after a time and said, "If that's how it is, I….."

"Today is my birthday. Stop saying stupid things and keep quiet.” Grandpa spoke loudly before Leo complete his statement.

Mona couldn't say anything. She had always knew her kids were smart, but she didn't think they would come up with a plan like this. She paused for a bit before calling Fred on video. After searching all day for the missing kids, he finally felt better when he saw their naughty faces. Benita wasn’t around, if not the kids wouldn’t have escaped easily.Luke and Rue felt bad when they saw their butler’s tired, worn-out countenance. Mona said in a serious voice, "Mr. Jenner and the workers at the villa have been looking for you all day because you snuck out. They have only just now been able to relax.”The kids looked down. “You may tell Mr. Jenner, and apologize to him,” Mona’s voice got more and more serious as she said, "Don't sneak back without saying anything and making everyone worry about you." Luke and Rue’s round eyes filled with tears, and they said sorry to Mr. Jenner in childlike voices. Mr. Jenner quickly calmed the kids down and then hung up. Conan rushed to calm the

Mona’s hands shook as she switched to a new phone and called Fred right away. "What do you mean by that? Luke and Rue are gone? Didn't you keep an eye on them all the time? How can they be gone? What do you mean by "missing"?” She asked Fred a lot of questions all at once, and he didn't know where to start. All he could do was groan. He could see that Miss Hunt was worried about the two kids, and now that they were gone, how could she not break down?Fred, who felt helpless, told the police what had happened to the kids. That day, they were due to attend piano lessons, but Rue suddenly announced she didn't feel well before the class started. The nanny quickly called the family doctor, but when she got back, the kids were gone. They had turned the whole mansion upside down, but they couldn't find any signs of them. The villa's staff members' names had been checked several times, and the villa's security had been raised to the maximum level. Nobody could get in without being seen. She

Sydney’s face went pale, and she rushed forward. "I..."She felt uneasy as Leo’s eyes seemed to see through everything. She avoided them and stammered for a long time. "The day she came back, and your eyes were always on her. I was confused and just..."Leo looked at the mark on Sydney’s arm and didn't say anything for a long time. Then he said, "This is the last time." Sydney quickly nodded, and her eyes blinked. Some things she didn't have to deal with; other people could do them for her. Leo called Nate and told him to take down the post about her that was trending today. "Are you just getting rid of the trending news?" Sydney was worried, "People are calling me a homewrecker online, and a lot of clients are demanding money from me choosing another actress instead,” Sydney said, "Do you want our unborn child to be called illegitimate?" When she saw that Leo still didn't say anything, but he looked at her earnestly. Sydney bit her lip hard since she knew there was no wa

Mona knew something was wrong right away when she went outdoors that night. People around her seemed to be pointing at her without her knowing, but once she looked their direction, they would move away and act like nothing had happened. She was ready to go to the store when Conan called and told her to stop. "Don't go out; someone has put your address online! Stay home; I'm on my way to grab you right now!” Conan’s voice was full of urgency, which made it evident that the issue was serious. Mona also seemed sad. It would be difficult for anyone on the internet to find her address in such a short amount of time, unless someone leaked it on purpose. It wasn't hard to figure out who it might be. She didn't want to fight fate, so she turned around and headed back. But then two men who looked sketchy stopped her. Their eyes moved over her body without shame. "You're the mistress, right? You do appear interesting.” "How about having some fun with us?" One of them made a lewd face. M

Mona’s heart almost broke when her tiny baby girl gazed at her, and she murmured softly, "One more month at most, then I'll come to see you, okay?" Rue’s eyes showed a tinge of disappointment, yet she still agreed like a child. Luke, who had been seated next to Rue, eventually spoke up after his sister and mother were done chatting. He said in a bossy voice, "Are you in trouble over there? Do you need me to step in and help?”Mona laughed, but she knew her young boy well enough to say, "Don't worry, I can handle the problems here. Okay, if something really hard comes up, I'll ask for your help.”Luke hummed in agreement. He was already a five-year-old little man who wanted to take care of his mother and sister. Mona didn't want to finish the video connection after having a nice discussion with her two kids. As soon as she hung up, Williams called and said, "Miss Hunt, Mr. Cox is out of the country on business. Harmony Pierce, the Cox Group's deputy general manager, will take over

Leo gazed at her for a second, then added, "The Gray family is not right for you. Get away from Conan Gray.”Leo pulled out his checkbook and started writing as he spoke? "How much money do you need? I'll give it to you.”He didn't think she could really care about Conan. For him, it was all about the money. Mona instantly laughed when she heard what Leo said. "Do you have twenty billion dollars?" Leo stopped writing and looked at her with a frown. Mona knew what he meant without saying anything: don't be ungrateful. She would have been worried about his look if it had been in the past, but now she wasn't. "Five years, and you haven't gotten any better, Mr. Cox. What more can you do besides tossing money around?” She stood up and hissed. The two faced each other across the coffee table in the peaceful villa, and for a minute, the mood grew strained. Leo glanced at Mona, who was pointing swords at him, and he felt a peculiar emotion rising in his heart, as if this version of her w
