Grandpa Eric was not happy at all that Sydney was going to have a baby . He still wasn't sure if the news was accurate or if the child was actually Leo’s, based on what he knew about her. He would never let her do things behind his back!

Grandpa was the reason why Leo still hadn’t married her, and Sydney had been with Leo for a long time, so she knew Grandpa would never accept the baby.

Sydney gazed at Grandpa Eric with anger and then hastily looked down. Leo could only pat her and say, "Let's talk about it later."

Sydney understood that Leo wouldn't go against Grandpa in public, so she said, "Okay, I'll listen to you."

Mona laughed to the young, good-looking couple in front of her. "Congratulations, Mr. Cox, on your blessed child," she said.

Grandpa scowled at Leo, snorted, and then left.

Leo’s expression grew darker as he watched Mona walk away too. When his phone rang, Leo walked away to pick the call.

“Miss Hunt, you..." Williams rushed after Mona.

As she watched Mona leave, Sydney suddenly had an idea. She sent a message to someone on her phone and smiled afterwards.

"Didn't Miss Hunt go to another country? Why did she come back all of a sudden? Is there a problem?”

“She must have failed while she was away! I pity miss Harlow now. What if Mona manage to steal Leo from her?”

The speaker seemed to know she had said something incorrect when she saw Sydney looking at her and quickly put her hand over her lips.

But Sydney didn't care at all. Instead, she lovingly covered her belly and said, "Leo and I are very happy now and we’ll get married soon. Even if Miss Hunt went the wrong way, we are still willing to aid her.”

Who among those there wasn't smart? One was Leo’s ex-wife, who he didn't like, and the other was the Cox family's prospective wife, who was pregnant. Anyone with a brain should know who to pick.

As the gossip spread through the gathering, Mona became the mistress who had to come back to her ex husband shamelessly so he could take care of her again.

"Look out!" Williams warning came as Mona was deep in contemplation, and she deftly ducked, spilling a glass of champagne on the floor as she was pressing her phone.

Kate, who had come out of nowhere, said, "Miss Hunt, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."

After saying this, she winked at a group of women who weren't too far away, and they all started laughing right away.

Williams scowled since he was astonished that Kate could do something like this to Mona. As he was ready to say something, he noticed Mona, who seemed blank, stop Kate who was leaving with a triumphant look on her face.

"Are you just going to leave like that?"

Kate shrugged and said, "I've already said I'm sorry. What else do you want?"

Mona gazed at her for a second, then grabbed a glass of wine that was close by and poured it over Kate’s head.

Kate didn't think Mona would have the guts to do something about her at the Cox family feast. The cold wine made her shudder and scream.

A woman's scream caught the attention of many people in the room, and everyone turned to look at her right away.

Sydney, who had been watching the situation, hurriedly walked up. Her expression showed concern as she asked in shock, "Oh, my! What has gone wrong here?”

She looked at a few women not far away, and they all realized what she meant right away. They yelled, "Kate almost spilled wine on Miss Hunt by accident, but she already said she was sorry. Why does Miss Hunt keep embarrassing her in public?”

"That's right! It was all a mistake and Kate didn’t meant to..”

"What is going on?" At that point, Leo heard the noise and went over to see what was going on. He was surprised to see Kate looking so messy.

Sydney swiftly went to Leo’s  side and softly told him what had just happened, pretending to be kind. "I think Miss Hunt might have been scared, which is why she got so upset all of a sudden. But I’m sure Kate didn’t meant to... I just so happen to have an extra gown with me. Why don't you put on mine?" Sydney said to Kate, her face lit up with a kind and loving smile.

A lot of people who didn't know the truth started to talk about Mona, and Leo’s  brow furrowed even more. He had already seen some changes in Mona over the past five years.

Before Leo could say anything, a rude voice said from behind them, "How could my Mona bully someone for no reason? You must have done something wrong if she acted out.”

Mona could see who had come up behind her without turning her head. Her eyes showed a hint of helplessness.

"Mr. Gray?" Sydney gasped in shock.

The Gray family had a long history that went back many generations. No one knew when the Gray started to rise to prominence, but everyone knew that they had been around for hundreds of years and had accumulated a fortune that most people couldn't even imagine. And Conan Gray was the most important person of his day. He had passionate eyes that could make you feel genuinely loved just by looking at him, as if he really loved you.

People had been talking for a long time about how this young playboy was a wild character who seduced many ladies. Then, a few years back, he abruptly stopped acting that way and rarely went to parties. Conan’s exact and one-of-a-kind investment advice was just as well-known. People said that any endeavor he wanted to do would never fail. He was the only one in their group who could match Leo.

But why would someone as powerful as Conan seem to be speaking for Mona? And their attitudes felt so similar, like...

Could Conan be the one who was paying for Mona’s needs?

"You poured that wine on her on purpose," Conan stated, looking down at the woman who had been quiet since he got there. "Do you want to apologize, or should we look at the security footage?"

Kate was too scared to say anything else, so she hurriedly dropped her head and said sorry to Mona before sneaking away.

Sydney’s  smile froze on her face, and she quickly came up with an excuse: "I didn't think Kate would do that. Mr. Gray, you and Miss Hunt... are you two in a relationship?”

"Why do you care about her relationship with me?" Conan laughed and winked at Mona. "But if you want to know, she’s my dear fiancée?"

Fiancée? How?….

Mona couldn't say anything. She had always knew her kids were smart, but she didn't think they would come up with a plan like this. She paused for a bit before calling Fred on video. After searching all day for the missing kids, he finally felt better when he saw their naughty faces. Benita wasn’t around, if not the kids wouldn’t have escaped easily.Luke and Rue felt bad when they saw their butler’s tired, worn-out countenance. Mona said in a serious voice, "Mr. Jenner and the workers at the villa have been looking for you all day because you snuck out. They have only just now been able to relax.”The kids looked down. “You may tell Mr. Jenner, and apologize to him,” Mona’s voice got more and more serious as she said, "Don't sneak back without saying anything and making everyone worry about you." Luke and Rue’s round eyes filled with tears, and they said sorry to Mr. Jenner in childlike voices. Mr. Jenner quickly calmed the kids down and then hung up. Conan rushed to calm the

Mona’s hands shook as she switched to a new phone and called Fred right away. "What do you mean by that? Luke and Rue are gone? Didn't you keep an eye on them all the time? How can they be gone? What do you mean by "missing"?” She asked Fred a lot of questions all at once, and he didn't know where to start. All he could do was groan. He could see that Miss Hunt was worried about the two kids, and now that they were gone, how could she not break down?Fred, who felt helpless, told the police what had happened to the kids. That day, they were due to attend piano lessons, but Rue suddenly announced she didn't feel well before the class started. The nanny quickly called the family doctor, but when she got back, the kids were gone. They had turned the whole mansion upside down, but they couldn't find any signs of them. The villa's staff members' names had been checked several times, and the villa's security had been raised to the maximum level. Nobody could get in without being seen. She

Sydney’s face went pale, and she rushed forward. "I..."She felt uneasy as Leo’s eyes seemed to see through everything. She avoided them and stammered for a long time. "The day she came back, and your eyes were always on her. I was confused and just..."Leo looked at the mark on Sydney’s arm and didn't say anything for a long time. Then he said, "This is the last time." Sydney quickly nodded, and her eyes blinked. Some things she didn't have to deal with; other people could do them for her. Leo called Nate and told him to take down the post about her that was trending today. "Are you just getting rid of the trending news?" Sydney was worried, "People are calling me a homewrecker online, and a lot of clients are demanding money from me choosing another actress instead,” Sydney said, "Do you want our unborn child to be called illegitimate?" When she saw that Leo still didn't say anything, but he looked at her earnestly. Sydney bit her lip hard since she knew there was no wa

Mona knew something was wrong right away when she went outdoors that night. People around her seemed to be pointing at her without her knowing, but once she looked their direction, they would move away and act like nothing had happened. She was ready to go to the store when Conan called and told her to stop. "Don't go out; someone has put your address online! Stay home; I'm on my way to grab you right now!” Conan’s voice was full of urgency, which made it evident that the issue was serious. Mona also seemed sad. It would be difficult for anyone on the internet to find her address in such a short amount of time, unless someone leaked it on purpose. It wasn't hard to figure out who it might be. She didn't want to fight fate, so she turned around and headed back. But then two men who looked sketchy stopped her. Their eyes moved over her body without shame. "You're the mistress, right? You do appear interesting.” "How about having some fun with us?" One of them made a lewd face. M

Mona’s heart almost broke when her tiny baby girl gazed at her, and she murmured softly, "One more month at most, then I'll come to see you, okay?" Rue’s eyes showed a tinge of disappointment, yet she still agreed like a child. Luke, who had been seated next to Rue, eventually spoke up after his sister and mother were done chatting. He said in a bossy voice, "Are you in trouble over there? Do you need me to step in and help?”Mona laughed, but she knew her young boy well enough to say, "Don't worry, I can handle the problems here. Okay, if something really hard comes up, I'll ask for your help.”Luke hummed in agreement. He was already a five-year-old little man who wanted to take care of his mother and sister. Mona didn't want to finish the video connection after having a nice discussion with her two kids. As soon as she hung up, Williams called and said, "Miss Hunt, Mr. Cox is out of the country on business. Harmony Pierce, the Cox Group's deputy general manager, will take over

Leo gazed at her for a second, then added, "The Gray family is not right for you. Get away from Conan Gray.”Leo pulled out his checkbook and started writing as he spoke? "How much money do you need? I'll give it to you.”He didn't think she could really care about Conan. For him, it was all about the money. Mona instantly laughed when she heard what Leo said. "Do you have twenty billion dollars?" Leo stopped writing and looked at her with a frown. Mona knew what he meant without saying anything: don't be ungrateful. She would have been worried about his look if it had been in the past, but now she wasn't. "Five years, and you haven't gotten any better, Mr. Cox. What more can you do besides tossing money around?” She stood up and hissed. The two faced each other across the coffee table in the peaceful villa, and for a minute, the mood grew strained. Leo glanced at Mona, who was pointing swords at him, and he felt a peculiar emotion rising in his heart, as if this version of her w
