XCIX: A War

Alyssa's POV

I pulled out the dagger and watched with cold and uncaring eyes as blood poured out of the stab wound. I would have gone for another if Seymour didn't stop me by wrapping his hand around my throat and lifting me up with my feet dangling in the air.

"Why?!" He screamed at my face. "Why would you try to kill me? I used my power on you! You should be worshipping me! How can you break it?" He snarled in my face and I grabbed his wrist, using my strength to get out his hold and he threw me on the ground.

"Alyssa!" Knox yelled and attempted to run to me but he was stopped by Seymour's men and he tried his best to fight them off even with the silver rope.

I smirked at Seymour and my reaction triggered him more. He was back in front of me in a flash and tried to hurt me again but he fell on his knees and grabbed his chest where the wound I inflicted was.

The poison I used on the dagger must be taking effect now. It is not enough to kill him, but I hope it would be
