Scarlett's pov

My heart beat loudly in my chest as I made my way out of my room and headed towards the dining room.

I knew breakfast would have been over by now and the room would be scanty and more importantly, free of a certain alpha. It was so frustrating as I was torn between hating Silas and wishing I could have my old life back.

I couldn't help but wonder what was running through his mind as he stared at my window last night. Did he feel a pull towards me the way I did for him?

The hallways were pleasantly empty and I quietly opened the doors to the dining room, letting out a breath when I saw there were just a few people left in the room.

"I was wondering if you were planning on starving yourself today," a voice called out behind me and I turned to Asher with wide eyes.

"Beta," I bowed my head in respect and he waved me off.

"No need for all that. You can call me Asher," he told me but I remained silent.
