Chapter 28

Silas' pov

I stared silently as the exiler stopped in front of the rogue. Jax clawed and howled within me but I ignored him. His reaction was unusual and unsettling, it was almost as if he didn't want the rogue to die which was confusing but I decided not to dwell on that now.

Anticipation filled the air as the rogue lay limp against the table and the exiler dramatically raised his blade, ready to end the rogue's life.

"Wait," a voice called out in the crowd, and the exiler paused and turned to me. I turned to the voice and watched as the crowd parted for the seer who calmly approached me with shaky steps.

"Gary, what are you doing here?" I asked the seer when he stopped in front of me but rather than answer me, he observed the scene before him. Looking from me to the rogue to the crowd before his gaze returned to mine.

"What do you think you are doing?" He asked me as he quirked a brow at me.
