41. Holding the Line

The smell of smoke was potent. Half the town was gone and creatures were trying to over take it. To kill the people living here. It wasn’t a full on march of creatures to mount a war attack. However it was pretty damn bad and they had to hold the line here or there would be no defense at the moment to stop creatures from coming up the mountain or to circle back around to other towns making them vulnerable. Or even up toward the keep.

The tide was changing though and fast as Aries and his warriors flooded in. He only had twenty with him, but that was enough to start changing the direction of the fighting. Aries was a fast blur that slammed into the side of one strigo and took it to the ground. The creature didn’t even know what hit it, it was dead in seconds. A mutilated throat that it could not heal from. Claw marks that racked deep and tore open the chest. He didn’t stop, he was his guar
