Kaden’s POV

I have always had a crush on Mildred, ever since kindergarten. I used to fantasize about how I would be getting married to her one day, but everything changed on Gray’s birthday; something inside me shifted.

I started developing feelings that weren’t supposed to be there. I felt a pull toward him, it felt so stupid, my mind went blank, how possible? I asked myself, I knew it was insane because we have spent almost all our lives together like brothers, it felt really strange to fall in love with someone you regard as your brother. Falling in love with him felt wrong.

After the party, we went back to his room to pick up some of the things I had left there. I slept in his place to help with the preparation. Having sleepovers at each other’s houses has been normal, even for Mildred. Our parent never complains about having all of us together in their house.

It has always been fun sleeping at each other's house, but on this night, everything felt different. I felt a tightness in my chest, knowing fully well that he was in that room. Strangely, I could scent him right from the hallway.

It's probable because I fell in love with him. I approached the room, gently opening the door and quietly entering the room. Just as I entered the room, I saw him standing close to the bed, facing me. The sparkle in his eyes alone made my knees weak.

His eyes locked onto mine, unreadable yet intense. My breath hitched. It felt like he was looking straight into my thoughts.

“You can also feel it don’t you?” He asked.

I was so shocked, my body froze. He also felt that he was in love with me too. Confused, he is definitely referring to that connection between us.

“Those forbidden desires between us, you felt it right?” He asks again

I nod my head slowly and step towards him, unable to resist the pull drawing me to him. But one thing I know and am sure about is that I want to do bad things to him, like some really, really bad, good stuff.

With that in mind, I cupped the back of his neck and pulled him into a kiss. It started slowly, ow, confused, and hesitant as we were unsure of what was going on, but we later deepened, until all of us became breathless.

Our breath and our bodies pressed together, he moved his mouth and went for my neck, his hot breath, sending shivers racing down my spine.

A moan escaped me before I could stop it. My whole body reacts to him. Pleasure filled my abdomen; I dropped to my knees and unbuckled his belt. His c*ck was already hard, because of me.

The thought alone made me throb. I wrapped my hand around it, earning a low moan against my skin, then took him into my mouth, working him steadily until his moan filled the room. When he spilled into my mouth, I swallowed and rose to kiss him again letting him taste himself on my tongue.

He stood up and shoved me to the bed, knelt and wrapped his hand around my length next, stroking me until the pleasure built too high to contain. We came almost together, breathless and shaking, both reaching our peak.

The next morning, we made a decision that we would start living together and keep our relationship a secret. We shut everyone out of our lives including Mildred. That part hurt the most. My feelings for her haven’t changed at all. It actually made me feel like a scum, wanting to have both of them, but I couldn’t help it.

When we finally left for college, things became easier. We didn’t have to hide anymore because we live in the same house, but we had to hide it when we were out because the school was made for werewolves, and there were werewolves in this town.

Some years ago, our alphas made a decision, that every offspring of the werewolves’ community must go to the same school and if we want to go to the same school, we have to attend the human school because the government there, prohibits private colleges, so we had to build our college in another town, just to protect our secret.

Part of our training as future leaders is to live independently away from the pack until graduation, even though we will have breaks when there is an important moon festival.

But Gray and I decided, we won’t come back for any break, to avoid others from finding out about our little secret, Gray is a good cook, so we don’t have to eat in the cafeteria, we rented a house close to the school, to make it convenient for us to stay and safe, especially during break.

Staying away from Mildred was the hardest choice we ever made, and it took a huge toll on us, it always felt like a piece of our body was missing, I have never had the guts to tell Gray about my feelings for Mildred, because I have this feeling that he has feelings for her too, which was weird.

First, I didn’t tell him because, I was scared our friendship might end, but later when I found out I was in love with him, I couldn’t tell him, because I worried, he might feel bad about it,

But what’s really weird is that, even though I knew he had feelings for her, it didn’t hurt; it felt like it was supposed to be there, like it was natural. Like it was meant to be, but whenever I see him getting close to other girls, it feels like I should rip them apart. But with Mildred, it feels blissful.

After three years of studying, it was time to go home. We were both excited, not because we were going home but because it was Pie’s birthday and we would be seeing her soon. We bought her a gift and prepared ourselves for seeing her again.

This week is our last week in school, so we decided to get gifts for both our parents. A knock came to our door. I went to the door and found Tony Alias standing on the other side.

“What are you doing here?” I said with a scoff.

“Why are you always against me, Kaden?” he asked.

“Because I don’t like you around Gray. Simple.”

“Who is at the door?” Gray asked,

“No one,” I replied. “Just a stray dog who doesn’t have a specific destination.”

Gray came to the door and smiled softly at Tony, which irritates me every single time, Come in, Gray invited him in.

Tony came to discuss the breakthrough in the research he and Gray had been working on.

Gray decided to develop a drug that would increase werewolves' lifespan to two hundred years. Since his grandma died, he has sworn to develop the drug, and he has been working together with Tony, which is annoying me.

Tony is known to be a playboy who doesn’t spare anyone including guys on his mission on being a perverted werewolf, that was why I didn’t want him anywhere close to my babe, even though Gray assured me that all those things are façade he created to stop his parent from choosing a business marriage partner to him and that he is a cool person, but still, I couldn’t let my guard down.

Tony’s dad is not only Gray’s father’s beta but also a strong businessman, who has business all over the world; if not for the fact that the werewolves can no longer interact with the rest of the supernatural, he could have had some businesses over there. Tony’s dad has already prepared potential marriage partners for him to buy his businesses, maybe that’s the reason why he created the illusion of a Playboy to send those partners away.

“Relax,” Tony teased. “I’m not trying to steal your boyfriend away, everyone knows you have a reputation of being heartless, only those who don’t want their lives will dare,”

“My eyes widened, you knew?”

He nodded his head. “I am close to both of you. What makes you think I won’t notice?”

Gray stiffened. “But you have never confronted us.”

“You wouldn’t have admitted to me,” Tony shrugged. “And honestly? You two look so good together, that’s why I don’t want you to behave weirdly around me.”

I stared at him intensely before walking out.

We went and got gifts for everyone, the three alphas and their wives. We are like a big extended family.

We arrived early the next day, and we went to my house, greeted my parent. They were so happy to see us. We presented our gifts and left for Gray’s house. That day was Mildred’s birthday, so we went and bought our tuxedos, and later went back to Gray’s house. We slept there.

The next evening, we got ready and left for the party. Gray, how do you think we are going to face “sweet pie”? I asked, I seriously don’t, but I am hoping she will understand us. I nodded my head as we continued our ride to the venue.

The venue was filled up, everyone was coming to say hi to us, especially those old aunties who knew we had come back from studying. I got tired, and I wanted to use the restroom, so I snuggled up and left. Gray had left a minute ago to get some fresh air.

I didn’t spend up to five minutes before, Mildred entered, she looked flustered and frustrated, looking at her now, I felt the same connection, I felt towards Gray during his birthday, I earlier thought it was because I missed her so much, that was why I felt it when she was coming down the stairs, but from seeing things now, is not it.

Before I knew what was happening, I moved towards her, my lips on hers. I froze at first, hoping she would respond to it. When she did, I continued without feeling guilty.

In a vast ethereal hall, a lady sat on a throne as if she had always been there, as if the universe itself had been shaped around her presence. The throne was carved from a living moonstone, pale and luminous, veined with slow-moving light that pulsed like a celestial heartbeat. It hovered slightly above the palace floor, untouched by gravity, untouched by time. Every edge shimmered with radiant silver, not sharp, not harsh, but soft like the moonlight filtering through mist. Her skin glowed with a pearlescent shine, neither fully light nor shadow, but something in between. It reflected the soft blues and silvers of the palace, as if she carried the night within her flesh. Her hair flowed down her back in waves of liquid silver, long and endless, drifting as though no wind stirred the air. Tiny fragments of starlight clung to it shimmering gently, as if the heavens themselves had kissed her strands. Each movement of her head caused galaxies to shift with it.Her eyes… Ah, her eye.

  • Mated Curse    CHAPTER FOURTEEN

KADEN POVEverything stood still. That even my breath could be heard, not wanting to interfere with everything, I struggled to step back because the force was too strong for me; it was a power from another level, a power beyond anything I had ever faced. I have had a fair share of fights with every known race in this world, bled against creatures of myth and legend, yet none of them had ever radiated such power like this. What terrified me most wasn’t the power. It’s my mate, who is still in there, I don’t know how they will cope with it when even I, the strongest Lycan, couldn’t, I wish I could save them after this, if not Keal will kill me.He has threatened to take over, but I talked him out of it, because we couldn’t risk drowning if he got angry and shifted, he wouldn’t be able to swim, so I have to save them no matter the cause. I struggled to move forward, even though the power was too strong; then something happened. The water, which was everywhere, started finding its way

  • Mated Curse    CHAPTER THIRTEEN

RICK’S POVThe ceiling stared back at me, blank and unforgiving, as if judging me, for capturing my mate, I lay motionless on the bed, unsure how long I had been there. I had been there for minutes, maybe hours.Time had lost its meaning and anything that had meaning before, the moment my chest began to ache in that slow, unbearable way, deep and constant, like something vital was being torn from me inch by inch.It felt too quiet, too empty, even the air seemed heavier, pressing down on me as if it knew I didn’t have the strength to push back.Keal was awake inside me, restless but silent, his grief projecting mine. No growls, no rage, just a dull, constant weight, like mourning without tears.I turned my head to the side, staring at nothing, but feeling everything. His face. his smile. His existence. The truth I couldn’t escape facts. He wasn’t mine.Even though the mate bond burned inside me, it pains piercing right into my heart, I would never surrender to it. my heart ache, I

  • Mated Curse    CHAPTER TWELVE

MILDRED POVAt first, I thought I was dreaming.Water glittered at my feet, cool, clear, it was rippling where the ground should have been solid. It rose slowly, creeping higher, above the ground level. Though there was no river nearby, no river nearby, only the steady hush of rain.Cold seeped into my bones, not just my body but my life. I knew this wasn’t a place meant to be wet… yet the water wrapped around me all the same. I could feel it deep inside me.“Mildred!” Kaden’s voice sliced through the haze. I opened my eyes fully and panic seized me, water flooded the dungeon, swallowing the ground beneath us. “What happened?” I asked, my voice cracking. “It’s a flood,” he shouted. “I think the whole place is flooding!”“How?” I gasped. “How is this possible?”“It has been raining heavily” he said, glancing around as water continued to rise, “And the dungeon is filling up.”That made no sense.I stood up, but the current slammed into my legs, knocking me off balance. The water cl

  • Mated Curse    CHAPTER ELEVEN

CHAPTER 11 The night split open with a roar of thunder, dark clouds swallowed the moon, overpowering the world’s shadow, a reckless wind howled through the trees, bending them like frightened servants before a wrathful king. A moment later, the heavens broke loose. Rain crashed down in torrents, wild unrelenting, merciless. Each drop struck the earth like a hammer, turning the quiet village into a trembling sea of mud. Illuminating rooftops, terrified faces, and the rising waters that swallow the streets. Within minutes, the ground disappeared beneath swirling waves. The flood surged through doorways and alleys, dragging away baskets, firewood, and anything foolish enough to resist it, the once familiar path vanished, replaced by an agitating, angry current that reflected the stormy heaven roar of the flood. And through it all, the storm raged on, wild and untamed, as if the sky itself were mourning, or warning, of what was yet to come. Rick stood at the window watching the thurmi

  • Mated Curse    CHAPTER TEN

Mildred woke up to a damp, ancient smell, one that felt like the place hadn’t been occupied in ages. As her eyes adjusted, looking at the surroundings, her heart hitched. The dungeon stretched before her like a forgotten cathedral of sorrow. Iron bars rose like cold prayers; the chains lay coiled like the serpents dreaming of their next captive. And the air tasted of rust and forsaken oaths; each breath reminded her that even stone remembered pain.Someone was lying before her. The room was pitch black, so she couldn’t see the person, and the smell of rust masked every other smell. So she couldn’t smell him.“You’re awake? A calm gentle voice asked. “Do you need water?” he asked again. Her throat burned. “Yes,” she whispered. He handed her a flask. She took the water and drained it down in one gulp. “Thank you,” she muttered.“What’s your name?” he asked. “Mildred,” she responded.Werewolf, right? She nodded. “Yes.” “Forgive my ill manners,” he said softly. “My name is Alex. I
