Chapter 40: Who Did It?
“Stop right there!”
Hearing Eric’s demanding voice from the pups’ room as I wake up, I immediately go into panic mode after yesterday. I slept throughout the night, but I had nightmares of vampires and dead pups. Not knowing exactly who is to blame, I feel empty inside and numb.
Climbing out of bed quickly, I listen closely and try to be as quiet as I can while I make my way to the door. I hear him raise his voice even louder, “I mean it, don’t make me kill you!”
At that moment, I no longer care how quiet I am and pull the door open with a burst of energy. Running out into the hallway, I ram right into the pup’s door with a thud and force it open so violently that it slams against the wall and puts a hole through it where the knob ended up. Eric glances at me quickly before turning back around and allowing me to see what he is screaming at, or should I say who.

“Boom” Sitting at the dining room table with Eric and Ryder, I hear a horrendous sound come from the pups’ room. “Crunch” I slowly open my eyes and right away I see a fawn staring at me from just a few feet away. It’s sweet doe eyes blink and then it starts to walk away slowly. Hearing something fall to the ground and make a loud clattering sound, I startle and open my eyes quickly.
