“Raven, wake up baby.”
His warm breath tickles my ear, as I open my eyes and I’m greeted with a smirk before he runs his fingers down my spine. Laying on my stomach, I feel content for the moment especially when he plants soft little kisses on the back of my neck. I purr while saying, “Mm. That feels so yummy that we may have to start before my heat kicks in. Now that’s what I call a wakeup call.”
With his fingers continuing to travel down my body, I sigh and then turn over before he stops and states, “Well, you do know that we don’t have to be in heat to make love.”
When I wink at him, he runs his fingers back up my legs and to my thighs so it tickles, before stopping. But then he hesitates and sighs before doing anything else as I stare into his desire filled eyes. I watch while the hunger that threatens to take him over grows stronger with every second that passes, but it scares me a little and thrills me to no end
“You did it!” Eric exclaims, when Eric the second starts to walk for the first time. He picks him up with his big strong hands, and he squeals with delight as Eric kisses him on his chubby little cheeks. I sit there and watch as I play with Lilly and Trinity before putting them in their beds for naptime. They are beautiful little pups with dark brown hair and green, emerald eyes. I can already tell that they will be fair young women when they grow old enough to have mates. It’s amazing that it has been a month and a half with absolutely no problems since Cassius struck and my baby girl, Alora was killed. Since then, we have been hunting nonstop and scavenging for food to feed the pack, which seems to be growing with each day. In the Summer, we will be able to build more houses and rearrange everything so we can start supporting our ever-growing territory. If that means that we branch out into farming and livestock so be
“Boom” Sitting at the dining room table with Eric and Ryder, I hear a horrendous sound come from the pups’ room. We all immediately glance at each other and then jump up, barreling towards the bedroom. I get there first, and I can tell that there is something wrong because the door is off its hinges. A wave of pain hits me as I hear another loud explosion echo throughout my head. Flying backwards, I crash into Eric and Ryder before falling onto the floor and shaking my head as I try to get my hearing back. Untangling myself from them, I rush back to the doorway and what I see in front of me is devastation. All at once the smoke, sadness, and pain hit me. Amid choking on the smoke filtering out of the room, I see flames shooting everywhere and finally hear everyone screaming. Eric and Ryder come up behind me and they just stand there speechless because the pups are no where to be found. Then again nei
When I get back to the pack, Ryder and Eric are standing in front of the burnt down pack house and are in heated discussion over something I can’t hear. I walk up to them, and they both raise their eyes to stare at me when I say angrily from between gritted teeth, “I have found the murderer and he is a hunter. A man in the woods, just outside of town. The thing is that he has silver and is no normal hunter, he is a hunter of our kind. He is the one who killed the pups because he has their dead bodies just waiting to be skinned and hung. There little feet rest around his neck on a necklace made of them.” Appalled by what I just said, they both stare at me and don’t move. Then eventually Eric walks over to me and wraps his arms around my waist before holding me close and I begin to pummel his chest with my tightly closed fists. “How dare he! Why them, why now!” I cry out while Eric takes the brunt of my assault. Ryd
“Crunch” I slowly open my eyes and right away I see a fawn staring at me from just a few feet away. It’s sweet doe eyes blink and then it starts to walk away slowly. I glance over at the fire and notice that it has died down and all that is left are a couple embers. Realizing that it must be only four or five, I try to fall back asleep by closing my eyes, but then I hear another noise and it seems like it is getting closer and closer by the second. I open my eyes just in time to see a hunter leap into the air and come down on the place where I lay with his knife out and a closed fist hits me in the head just before I black out. This time when I open my eyes, I wince as I feel a stabbing pain in my temple and all I see is darkness. I try to move but discover that my hands are bound behind my back. Waking up fully, I try to sit and can’t because my ankles are also tied together. As I try to cry out, my sounds ar
Hearing something fall to the ground and make a loud clattering sound, I startle and open my eyes quickly. Ready to fight, fangs slide out and my claws draw, but when I turn it is only Eric trying to get out of bed without waking me. I smile in relief and say, “Good morning, Eric.” Before he returns the smile and climbs out. When he is on his feet, he walks over to me and says, “You have no idea what kinds of dreams I have been having. They are definitely not good ones, I might add.” I watch as he shakes his head in frustration while looking up at the ceiling, and then he lowers his gaze to me. The sadness in his eyes tells me that he has been through too much in the last several days and he is at his wits end. He softly cups my chin in his palm before leaning down and kissing me. It’s a sweet kiss that turns into something more like yearning and hunger after the first bit. Speeding up his kisses, his tong
Feeling someone shaking me gently, I wake up and glance at Eric lying next to me. He has his finger to his lips and then says in a whisper, “Don’t make a noise, there is someone here.” I quietly climb out of bed and wrap the blanket around me, before heading to the door and carefully looking around the corner to the hallway. With Eric right behind me, we creep down the hall and just before I get the front door open, someone tackles Eric from behind and knocks me onto the ground. Turning my head, I look behind me before pushing off the floor. Standing up, I stare for a second or two at Eric fighting a man, before I encounter yet another one who is glaring at me from the doorway. Instantly, my fangs and claws come out as he launches himself at me. Swiping at him with my claws, I don’t connect but rather feel the air knocked out of me from behind when the man Eric was fighting turns around suddenly and kicks me in the spine. I
“Alright, everyone take a seat. We need to talk about this problem with the humans. I know for a while now we have been fighting and it has caused quite a few deaths, but I think I have come up with a plan to make peace among all of us. Ryder and I have been talking this through with the other Alpha’s of the territory. We all agree that if the humans sign a contract with us, we will make a pact and not enter each other’s land. Of course, that means if we do, the pact will be off, and the war will start again. Today we will go to the human village and talk to them before making any other rash decisions. If they agree, we will sign it and then come back as planned.” Eric states with a loud voice as he stands on the gazebo in front of everyone. Standing back, I observe everyone carefully just to make sure that there are not any of us who will cause problems once this pact takes effect. A group to the side, stands alone and I
Laying in Eric’s strong arms, I feel the warmth of the sun beating down on my skin and refuse to open my eyes for a moment while I take it all in. Yesterday was interesting to say the least. I had feared the humans intruding into our territory, but the minute Jeremy stepped out of the car Eric greeted him warmly. The rest of the night he told me tales of when he was a young pup and Jeremy was his best friend in the world till their fathers had a fight and Jeremy moved far away. Now, apparently Jeremy is back, and he is one of the most influential men in the human world. If he had known that Eric was one of the Alphas of this territory, he would have never let the hunters attack us. Now, we are venturing into a new period, where humans and our kind peacefully coexist. At least for the time being. Eric has high hopes that this means no more fighting, but I on the other hand realize that there will always be tension between us f
