Lilith's POV;

My mouth opened, and I clamped them shut immediately and shook my head. It was impossible.

"You're lying—"

"Then how did you get here? You know that bitch won't let you just leave."

It was then that I began to remember. My memories had been hazy, and I wasn't sure what was real and what wasn't, but I was sure that I had seen a look of shock on Cassandra's face.

"I'll get a maid to be with you shortly," he said, moving to the door.

"What about the wedding?" I blurted out just before he could leave, and he halted in his tracks without turning around.

"What do you think?" He said this as he walked out.

A part of me felt terrible for the way I had treated him, but I couldn't trust myself around him. Lexi had already melted.

Almost immediately, the door opened, and a maid entered.

"Miss Lilith, My name is Cara, and the Alpha King sent me to cater to all your needs."

I nodded and said nothing. "Should I run you a warm bath now, my lady?"

I wanted to refuse, but seeing that I hadn't had my bath for a while, I nodded.

"Where am I?"

She seemed taken aback by my question, and then she smiled quickly, masking her initial confusion. "The black hound pack, my lady."

I nodded, saying nothing.

While she went to run a warm bath, I ate alone and took the pills. I couldn't stop thinking about what had happened. Had Cassandra sold me to him? Was she pissed when he called me his mate?

It didn't take long after I had my bath that someone entered the room. She was a round, plump woman who seemed to be in her mid-thirties and was adorned with several pieces of sparkling jewelry.

I glanced at Cara, and she chuckled nervously. "My lady, this is Lady Portokolas, the best dressmaker in the entire kingdom. She's here to take measurements for your dress."

"I don't need a dress."

"But—but you do, my lady, for the mating ceremony."

I squinted my eyes. "What mating ceremony?"

She glanced at the dressmaker and fixed her eyes on the ground. She was avoiding my eyes.

I sprang up immediately. "Where is the Alpha King right now?"

I didn't wait for her to finish talking before I dashed out of the room and headed straight to the door in front of me. I pushed it open to see that it was full of people dressed in the same uniform—maids!

"Where is the Alpha King?"

They pointed to their left, a shocked expression on their faces, and I nodded as I dashed to the room.

I pushed open the door they had pointed to, only to be met with several pairs of eyes.

"Lilith!" He seemed surprised to see me but quickly masked it with excitement as he walked towards me and placed a hand on my shoulder.

I wanted to push him away, but I couldn't, I stayed mute instead, while he introduced me to the man in the room as his mate. They smiled and nodded in approval, and I wondered if they knew who I was.

"I will be back," he said as he led me out of the room. His hand on my shoulder was still there.

"I know you're startled, but I promise you that I'll protect you. I won't let any harm befall you," he promised, staring into my eyes, and I averted his gaze.

I said nothing, but zoned off as he kept emphasizing how he was never going to let anyone hurt me again. I didn't care about being hurt or not; I didn't even care about anything. I couldn't feel anything either.

"Marry me, Lilith. Marry me, and I promise you that you'll have no reason to cry."

"I'll marry you."

He looked taken aback. "What?"

"I'll marry you."

He looked like he was about to say something, but instead, he smiled, and then his smile widened into a grin as he pulled me into his embrace.

I rolled my eyes as Lexi purred. I didn't do that for her or myself. I just did it because he was going to keep persuading me, and it was better than going back to Raider and Cassandra.

"I have to go back to the meeting now, but as soon as it's done, I'll come see you."

I nodded and said nothing, walking back to the room. The maid and dressmaker held a concerned look on their faces; the worry line on their foreheads was visible.

"Continue," I said slowly as I stood in front of the dressmaker.

"The wedding in Green Forest Park—what did they say about it?"

She stopped, and even though I could not see them, I knew that they were exchanging looks. There was something they weren't telling me.

"Cara?"

"My lady, it—"

I raised a brow as I turned to her. Her eyes were fixed to the ground as she fiddled with her finger. I had noticed her doing that earlier and realized that it was something she does when she is nervous.

"What—forget it!" I said, while the dressmaker continued taking my measurements.

The room was quiet—so quiet that it brought back the memories of my parents when they were being murdered and Raider, when I had seen him with Cassandra. I will not cry, no matter what, and I wasn't going to die either, at least not yet.

"My lady," Cara began, and I looked at her. I wanted to tell her not to call me that. I was just an Omega. But I kept quiet instead; after all, my status was just about to change.

There was a gentle knock on the door, and Cara glanced at me. Her big brown orbs looked at me pitifully, and I walked straight to the door, startling the dressmaker.

"My lady—"

I opened the door, my lips parting as my breath hitched in my throat, and I glanced at her. She was the last person I was expecting.

"May I come in?" She asked, a smile that wasn't visible in her eyes etched on her face, and then I realized that I had been staring at her for a while now.

"My lady—" I hadn't realized that Cara was beside me.

I wondered what she was doing in there, but I knew that I couldn't leave her standing there.

"Come in."

As I watched her enter the room, my eyes met Cara's, and from the look in her eyes, I hoped that I hadn't made a mistake with those two words.

Adams' POVThe forest appeared ahead covered with an uneasy feeling. As I guided my men into the Green Forest Pack’s territory, I felt the heavy crown on my head.It was a steady reminder of my responsibilities as Alpha, and King of all the Packs. My warriors were nearby, their faces tensed with anticipation, ready to battle, but the deep silence unsettled even the most seasoned of them.“What's happening?” Ronan, my Beta, whispered, looking at the trees as if they might suddenly attack us.“Be careful!” I said, looking closely at the darkening sky. “We might be walking into a trap.”Next to me, Lilith rode, her calmness a source of comfort. She looked at me, and said, “No matter what comes, we will handle it.”I nodded, feeling thankful for her bravery. We had made it too far and given up too much to stop now. Together we moved forward deeper into the Pack.By the time I stepped on the boundary, I expected trouble, but the woods were strangely quiet. I noticed my men sharing anxious

She moved closer, her bright green eyes looking into mine. “It is finally done.”A huge weight lifted off my chest at her words. “Yes... it is settled.” Our eyes met and at that moment every other thing felt unimportant. I pulled her close, ignoring our friends and the signs of the battle, kissing her passionately. The salty flavor from sweat and dirt dripped down my throat, but in her presence even the bad feelings turned good. We hugged each other tightly, connecting our hearts as one, enjoying the joy of our victory, and fin

She fell onto the grassy ground, but as soon as she got back up, her anger burned even brighter.“All of you are so weak and pathetic. Two wolves fighting each other—a fierce and savage dance involving their sharp claws and powerful teeth. The air was filled with the wild and piercing sounds of battle cries which vibrated through the ground under our feet. I became more alert and focused with each second that passed. “Look over there!” I said excitedly, pointing my finger towards something I recognized among the group of troublemakers.“It is the Green Forest, my home pack! I can’t believe they would turn against us like this. How could they do something so hurtful?”Adams' spoke to me, “Ben has influenced their thoughts in a very negative way. He had convinced them that they would take control and gain power. He will not give up until he has succeeded in tearing us apart completely.”“Then we will demonstrate to them exactly what loyalty really mean

I looked down at the huge army of wolves that had gathered below me.Their fur was shining and sparkling, catching what little light was left in the sky as the sun started to set. The wolves were making deep low growling sounds that combined into a sound like a heavy dark hum that I could feel deep inside of me.I realized that Augustus had finally come, and I could sense that a big battle was about to take place. It appeared as if a dark cloud was hovering over us ready to unleash terror at any point.“Just take a look at them,” I said quietly in a whisper, as my heart beat loudly in my chest.
