After finishing the delicious bakes Alban had made for me, I start my journey back up the huge staircase and hoped I would be able to locate my bedroom. With ease, I find the door and push it open to the most beautiful room I was getting to stay in, it truly felt as though I was staying in some elegant hotel but in reality, it was only Albans house. Spotting a suitcase beside one of the many expensive looking chests of drawers, I walk over and begin to sort through what my mother had packed for me. Picking out a pair of blue jeans and a loose crewneck as to not restrict my ribs, I head towards the bathroom to hopefully wash the smell of hospital from my body and ease my ribs with the warm water. But after turning on the shower and stepping away to take my clothes off, I realise something, I was able to take my hoodie off due to how loose it was, but the top the hospital had dressed me in was so tight, I couldn’t lift my arms up high enough to take it off. Standing in the centre
Once I showered all the smell of the hospital from me, I walk back out in my towel and found Alban waiting on my bed for me. Without having to ask, he helps me into my clothes where I was able to keep the towel around my body so he wouldn’t see, he even helped me dry my hair so I wouldn’t catch a cold in the freezing weather. I was now sitting on the bed whilst he tied my shoes for me, where I couldn’t help looking down at him with a smile as he concentrated on tying my laces. I couldn’t quite believe I was sat in Alpha Albans house and was allowing him to help me get ready. If you would have told me this a few weeks ago, I’d either think you were lying or had lost a screw or two. But now watching him help me, I couldn’t help but begin to ask myself if accepting him as my mate would be the worst thing. I know the way he used to treat me and my friends for seemingly no reason was awful, but I couldn’t help but remember what Lincoln had told me the day I arrived here, so many people
Once Alban had checked with the guards to ensure the rouge was dead and order them to run some tests on it before feeding it to the hounds, he leads me back towards the pack house but this time, my hand remained wrapped around his arm. As soon as I stepped foot into the pack house, I was brought right back to when I was younger walking in here with friends. Nothing had changed, the walls were still the same colour, the photos were still placed on the same walls, heck I believe I even saw the same people sat in their armchairs. Whenever I thought of home when I was away, this is where I would picture myself walking through and would be filled with such immense joy. “Alpha! Did you manage to fill out the paperwork so my mate can enter the pack as a member?!” One man asked as soon as he spotted Alban, who didn’t seem too pleased as he led me deeper through the pack house. “I have not found time to do so, when I do, I’ll have the Beta deliver it to the pack.” He said dismissing the
Alban and I remained sat on that sofa for around an hour longer, his hand not leaving my side for even a second which I didn’t mind, it was the first time in days I could sit and not have even the dullest of pains in my ribs. By the end, I truly felt as though my rib had not only healed from that guy's iron elbows but also, healed even more! My wolf said due to Alban being close, she was able to connect with his wolf slightly who was giving her more energy and power to heal us. I was now sat on the sofa alone and as much as it pained me to admit feeling it, I was sort of missing Alban’s touch now that he was no longer sat right beside me. My body yearned for his touch, my wolf pouting in my mind now that she could no longer feel his wolf. “You need to have mate mark us right now!” She demands in my mind as I lay on the sofa watching Alban work away behind his desk, papers going from one side to the other as he sorted through them. “I’m not allowing Alban to mark me, what is wron
Once arriving back to Alban’s, I do as I said and placed his keys under the mat before rushing up to my bedroom and locking myself in the bathroom in case he came back and wanted round two. As I looked at myself in the mirror, I couldn’t help but feel disgusted, why the fuck did I almost allow that man to mark me?! Yes, I knew that we were mates, and he’d helped me so much since I’ve been injured, but that doesn’t change the fact that he made my life a living hell for the last years that I lived here! Does he simply expect me to forget about all the times he’d make me feel small and worthless just because we found out were mates?! I can’t even count the times he made me rush into my bedroom back home and break down crying because of the awful shit he’d done to me, why would I want to be with him?! “Because he’s our mate! You were about to do the one good thing you have done in your life and look; you fucked it up!” My wolf shouted in my head so angry that I was close to allowing A
Jolting awake from my sleep suddenly, I discover I was still laying on the bathroom floor, my eyes hurt from the amount I had cried where the added light from the sun which crept through the window at the top of the room made me wince in pain. To my surprise, the tile floor was not cold but surprisingly warm, but what also confused and shocked me was the blanket which lay over my body and a pillow holding my head. I knew for certain I hadn’t walked into the bathroom with a blanket and pillow, so there was only one person it could have been, Alban. Slowly sitting up from the ground, I felt a little dazed and hazy due to the crying, I didn’t know why but I felt betrayed in a sense. I knew what Alban was like so why didn’t I see it coming, but with how he was treating me that whole day and even baked me breakfast, was that all so I let my guard down for him to the advantage of me? Yes, I also know that I had leaned in to kiss him but that was because the way his presence made me fe
Once getting ready and meeting Lincoln down in his dining room, we both sit in silence as he drinks his coffee, and I stare down at the food he’d prepared for me. I knew he had so many questions for me surrounding why I didn’t want to stay with Alban and everything in between, but all he did was watch me with a raised eyebrow. “I know you prefer marmalade on your toast, but I don’t have any in the cupboards, so I hope butter can suffice.” He said breaking the long and tense silence, a tiny smile on his lips as he looked at me sat at the table. “Butter is perfect, thank you.” I smiled grateful that he too remembered the things that I liked when I lived here before, my eyes soon falling back to the plate where one and a half pieces of toast sat. “Why didn’t you tell me?” Lincoln sighs after a moment of even more deafening silence, where I could only look up at him a little confused not knowing what he was getting at. “Why didn’t you tell me that Alban is your mate?” He asked wit
Alban sat at his desk in the pack house waiting for Alpha Maxwell to arrive, his hands placed together on the desk whilst his eyes trained to the door. Since learning what this Alpha had attempted to do with his mate, he had been waiting for this moment, he had envisioned all that he was going to say to the grotesque man who wanted to rob Alban of the person who was his by right. What he also couldn’t get out of his mind was Iris and the cries he had heard from her when he left, he was of course an Alpha who never show their feelings and are evil and tough by nature, but she was still his mate. It was his job to protect her and make sure she was happy, but due to his urges and nature, he hurt her in ways he never intended to. He was so overcome with lust and the anger that this Alpha had brought for him, he allowed his emotions to get the better of him. This meant the hatred he feels towards this man whom he had never even met, only grew higher. Before those thoughts could marinat
After going over the second half of my marvellous plan, all men agreed my approach would not only be the most successful but also, swift enough so the W.M.O will never be able to catch wind of it beforehand. Alban allowed Russell to use one of the packs labs where he was able to brew The Deadly Sleeping Drought in under an hour, the clear liquid soon placed in a thin glass test tube and in a protective bag so it wouldn’t spill. We all agreed that the quickest and stealthiest way for us to travel to The Full Moon Pack would be in wolf form, so around two hours after I had disclosed my amazing plan, we were all stood at the edge of the border with bags in our hands holding the spare clothes for us to wear so we wouldn’t have to walk around in the nude. “I’ve just realised, you haven’t seen me in wolf form yet, I had shifted while I was away and due to that stupid order, which should really be lifted by now, I haven’t been able to.” I smiled over to Alban as he dug through his bag
Walking into Alban’s office, he sat behind his desk with his leg bouncing in anger and impatience as he waited for me to return. Lincoln sat to the side of him seeming to read a bunch of maps that I had asked from him whilst Russell, sat off to the side seeming to jot down some information. “How did it go?” Alban asked as I closed the door behind me, all eyes seeming to move away from whatever the rest were doing as I stood in the middle of the room. “I sorted it, everything is being moved to a specific location where as soon as you’re ready, you can go see it all. No one held any malice towards what they were doing, yes, some people didn’t like Polly, and most were scared but she was still once this packs Luna. Your father and her did great things for this pack; people are grieving that side of things. People grieve in different ways, and none are the wrong way.” I smiled walking deeper into the room hoping to calm his anger down, he wasn’t doing this out of spite or true anger,
Once Alban had finished his coffee, which he drunk and stated was one of the tastiest coffee’s he believed he’d ever tried, we walk hand in hand out of the house and towards the main section of pack. With all that happened only yesterday, I watched Alban even closer as we walked towards the exit of our private residence, it’s okay here as only Lincoln has permission to enter, but as soon as we walk through those gates, all eyes will be on us. I knew the news surrounding his parents and the hunters had made their rounds, I had received many mind-links from the higher ups in the packs asking me to send their condolences to Alban, I don’t think any wanted to tell him directly. Holding his head up high and placing that same Alpha look even though I knew was his invisible mask, we exit our private sanctuary where many sympathetic stares were sent our way by many people. Sending them tiny smiles as a thank you, I continued walking beside Alban until the pack house came into view and sat
Once Alban allowed himself to cry for so many heartbreaking minutes, I headed downstairs to brew him a coffee, hoping I would be able to work out his professional set up and not have boiling coffee fly at my face. In the mists of me studying all of the many dials and hoping one was going to burst into some kind of song indicating it was the one I had to use, someone walking into the kitchen causes me to jump. “I didn’t mean to startle you, I just came to see if I could grab a glass of water before meeting your brother.” Russell who I’d forgotten was here said by the door, where I simply sent him a smile before staring back at the coffee machine. “It’s okay, I was just making Alban a coffee, if I’m able to work out this scientific machine that is.” I reply with a frustrated sigh, I wanted to try and lift Alban’s spirits but if I mess up, I may make him choke. “Allow me to help, back at The Full Moon Pack before training each day, the kitchen staff would allow me in to make a co
Alban continued to stare at me with confusion in his face but also, a hint of anger as though Russell saving my life while I was away was some sort of betrayal. “What do you mean he saved your life?” He asked in a growl like tone looking down at me, where I simply shook my head going to move away from him, but he stopped me. “I have more important things to discus with you than something that happened in the past that doesn’t really matter anymore-.” I began to try and push it away but when I’m lifted back up on the counter, I knew Alban wasn’t about to let this go. “I will decide what is important enough to discus with me and right now, you explaining how this rouge saved your life and pushed you into some kind of debt with him started?” He asked repeating that unless I told him what I meant with Russell, he wasn’t going to allow either of us to move. “Russell doesn’t see it as though I’m in his debt, he’s actually told me multiple times that he doesn’t want anything back for
Sparks spreading throughout my face gently pulls me out of my sleeping state, after all that happened yesterday and the late hour that I managed to fall asleep, the last thing I wanted to do was wake up in that moment and attempted to ignore it all. Until long kisses were placed along my jaw and neck snapping my eyes open in a second, Alban lay on my chest with a smile on his face watching me. “Glad of you to join me.” Alban smiled his voice deep from sleep whilst I rolled my eyes at his comment before attempting to fall back into dreamland. “Five more minutes.” I groan sinking my face further into the pillow in hopes of blocking the rest of the noise out, I was still very much exhausted from the party and everything in between. “I would always opt to remain in bed tangled up with you but wasn’t it you who said we had a lot to get done today, with your Luna duties and whatever it is you are planning?” Alban asked with a chuckle at my desire to fall back to sleep, where each and
Using the rush of adrenaline and anger that I felt for what these assholes did to my mate, I grab the first who attempted to throw an arrow at me and claw at his neck until he landed dead on the floor. With such a swift kill, I saw his friends look at me a little shocked before getting to action, one man ran at me with a sword of his own, which I managed to kick out of his hand and plunge Samuel’s dagger right into his chest, moving it up so it caused the most damage, I kick him back and allow him to bleed out alone. One by one each man attempted to take me down, but were met with my anger filled hits and bites, as I ripped each man apart, grabbing one man by the scruff of hid neck, I smashed his head so hard off a tree, the old wooden tree fell to the floor with his head bedded inside. When my back was turned, one man grabbed me and attempted to slit my throat, but what ease, I break all the fingers in his hand and throw him over my shoulder, using his own weapon to impale him as
Polly’s huge brown wolf began growling in uncontrollable anger, its midnight black eyes indicating to us that Polly was no longer the person pulling the strings, her wolf had taken full control and was more than willing to rip apart anyone who came close to her. I remained behind Alban, his entire body shielding mine from the danger as my hand gripped his shoulder, Lincoln stood off to the side in his Beta pose preparing for an attack the wolf might unleash on him. Russell had moved off to the side a little assessing the situation and seeing if he could find a way around it while Samual, who had attempted to hurt Polly, lay by a tree unconscious. “What are we going to do?” I whispered gripping onto Alban’s shoulder for dear life, the way Polly’s wolf prowled was evident of how dangerous it was, she truly had nothing to lose and that’s the most dangerous thing. “Whatever happens, that wolf isn’t going to quit until it’s forced to.” Lincoln said walking sideways but ensuring not t
The already dead and dark wood slipped into even more deafening silence as each person attempted to understand what Alban had just said, I didn’t know if this was him also attempting to pull the wool over Samuel’s eyes as he just watched Russell do, or he was serious, but I was left watching my mate more unsure than anything. “You ain’t gonna fool me Alpha, I wasn’t born yesterday, even though you’re my younger brother and you’re one of the only people I love, I don’t trust you. Polly is your mother also and someone as I have seen, you put over everyone else’s safety to help.” Samual scoffed shaking his head at his brother not seeming to fall for Alban’s tricks, who simply shook his head with a sigh staring at Polly who shook with fear behind him. “That was once the truth, I admit I have witnessed the way in which mother treats the pack members and simply believed that is how a Luna runs her pack. But that was all before I was able to see how my mate does, she feels nothing but lo
