Mira’s POV

I woke up slowly, stretching my limbs across Kai’s warm bedsheets, the early sunlight filtering through the tall windows casting faint gold across the room.

My body still ached, not from pain, but from how thoroughly Kai had adored me the night before. He was still asleep beside me, his bare chest rising and falling with a slow rhythm. I smiled, brushing a strand of my hair out of my face and sitting up quietly so as not to wake him.

But of course, I wasn’t lucky enough to slip out unnoticed.

“You’re not sneaking away, are you?” Kai’s deep voice was husky from sleep, yet laced with amusement.

I turned to find him watching me, a crooked grin stretching across his lips.

“I have duties,” I replied with a smirk of my own. “Unlike some people who get to lie in bed all day and look pretty.”

He chuckled. “I do more than look pretty. I’m also the reason half the rogues don’t dare touch our borders.”

“Half,” I repeated playfully. “So the other half are scared of Damien’s experiment

Mira’s POVAs I walked briskly through the corridor toward my chamber to change, I couldn’t stop thinking about the noblemen and the orphans. The moment the guard had delivered the message that the messengers had arrived, I knew exactly what it meant—they weren’t there to support my plan. They were there to resist it.Damien walked beside me, his freshly washed hair still slightly damp from the bath I’d practically forced him into. He looked more alive, more grounded. I was glad I’d gone to check on him. And now, I was grateful for his company, even if only for a few more minutes.“I’m guessing the noblemen aren’t exactly thrilled about housing a group of children they didn’t volunteer for?” he said, half amused, half curious.“Definitely not,” I muttered, smoothing my tunic as we walked. “But they’ll have to bear it. These children are not stray animals. They’re the clan’s future. If we can’t give them proper homes now, we’re setting ourselves up for chaos later.”Damien nodded

Mira’s POVI hadn’t seen Damien in nearly a week. Not in the halls, not at the breakfast table, not even in one of the council chambers where he would sometimes hover near the walls with folded arms and sharp comments. He’d locked himself inside his workshop—again—and while no one said it aloud, we were all growing a little concerned. So this morning, after ensuring all the morning reports had been filed and breakfast had concluded, I made my way to the east wing where the metal-and-magic scent of Damien’s workshop always lingered.I didn’t knock. I knew I wouldn’t be heard. The moment I stepped inside, I was met with warmth, smoke, and the furious scribble of chalk against slate. Damien was pacing in a tight circle, muttering to himself and waving a glass vial in one hand. And then he saw me.“Mira!” he exclaimed, his face lighting up with something I hadn’t seen in days—pure, unfiltered joy. “You’re just in time!”I blinked, stepping further inside. “In time for what?”He all

Serena’s POVI stood in front of the old mirror in the corner of the chamber they had assigned to me. Its edges were chipped, its surface slightly tarnished. The kind of mirror that barely served its purpose. How fitting.I stared into it anyway, my gaze burning with fury.“She thinks she’s a queen,” I murmured. My reflection sneered back at me. “Walking around in silk gowns, giving orders, solving problems like she owns this place.”My fingers dug into the wooden frame.“Those orphans… how dare she use my project to win the hearts of this clan? That home was mine. I created it. I built it. I protected it. And now she wants to act like she’s the savior?”I leaned closer, voice lowering into a growl.“No. No, no, no. I won’t let her erase me.”I paced the small room. It smelled of lavender and dust—two things I despised now. Everything around me screamed ordinary, and I was not born to be ordinary.“I will get that throne back,” I hissed. “Piece by piece if I have to.”A sharp kno

Mira’s POVThe sun had barely reached its peak in the sky when I returned to the castle. The walk with Kai by the lake earlier had eased some of the tension building in my chest over the past few days, but it didn’t last long. The moment I stepped through the towering double doors, reality—thick and unrelenting—settled right back over me like a heavy cloak.I made my way toward one of the side corridors, where I had arranged to meet Adela for a brief check-in. As I turned into the hallway, I spotted her seated on a cushioned bench beside the arched window, humming to herself and smiling at nothing in particular. Her fingers toyed with the hem of her apron as she rocked her legs slightly back and forth.“You look suspiciously happy,” I said with a raised brow, walking toward her.Adela’s head snapped up, eyes wide for a second, then she beamed. “My queen,” she said with a slight bow of her head before I waved it off. “I’ve been dying to tell you something!”I folded my arms, t

  • Mated To My Enemies! Lycan Kings Obsession    Quiet time

Mira’s POVThe wind kissed my cheeks gently as I stood at the edge of the lake, just outside the castle’s protective walls. The water shimmered like polished silver under the sunlight, disturbed only by the occasional ripple caused by a soft breeze or a skipping pebble Kai tossed absentmindedly. His tall frame stood beside me, relaxed but alert as always, one hand shoved deep into his coat pocket, the other loosely at his side.I inhaled the crisp air and exhaled slowly, letting my mind wander away from the weight of responsibility—if only for a little while. I turned to him, brushing strands of hair from my face as I began to speak.“I met with the councilmen this morning,” I said, not bothering to disguise the weariness in my tone. “There were rogue attacks—small, random, but enough to cut off trade through the Southern Pass.”Kai’s brow arched, though he didn’t turn to me just yet. “The Southern Pass?”I nodded. “Yes. They said it’s becoming too dangerous to transport goods
