Chapter 27

I get into the helicopter to meet Sunshine already here, I can't contend with my joy. I see from his face that he has been quite worried of seeing me again. I guess how kids could be anxious especially when they aren't with their parents. Perhaps he thought I was gonna be hurt in the process, seeing how Chloe was shot, I remember the horror on his face now.

What I intended knowing which I asked Rex flashes across my mind. Let me sit down and fasten my seatbelt first, then I'll ask him. Rex enters the helicopter through the left door while I the right, we sit down with Sunshine sitting in our midst. I reason that it wouldn't be convenient for him to sit alone, being that he is just five years old and this is his first time flying, I attempt to place him on my laps but Rex reaches out and prevents me.

"I'd rather do that!" He says. My eyes pop out in amazement. But he isn't your son? I find myself asking through the gaze I'm giving him. He smiles at me, taking Sunshine from my hands.
