DANE

The first thing I felt was the cold. The second thing was the tight grip of chains around my wrists and ankles. My head throbbed as I forced my eyes open, and it took me a moment to realize I was sitting on a stone floor. Panic surged through me when I saw Zane and Kane slumped nearby, also chained.

“Guys,” I rasped, my throat dry. “Wake up!”

Kane groaned again, his body shifting slightly as he started to regain full consciousness. Zane blinked a few times, his eyes narrowing as he took in the strange, dimly lit room. He looked around quickly, his face hardening.

“What the hell happened?” Zane’s voice was rough, but there was an edge of anger to it. He was trying to make sense of everything.

I shook my head, the confusion still clouding my mind. “I don’t know. Last thing I remember… Gerald’s laugh.” The sound still echoed in my ears, haunting, twisted, and so unnatural. It made my skin crawl just thinking about it. The memory of that laugh made my stomach churn like I had just sw

KANEI hated every second of it.School.The classrooms, the teachers, the ringing bells, the smell of sweaty lockers, it all felt pointless now. Like a bad joke. Like the world was burning, but we were stuck here pretending everything was normal.I glanced at Dane beside me. He was tapping his pen nonstop on the desk. Tap. Tap. Tap.“Stop,” I muttered. He stopped tapping but didn’t look at me. “I can’t sit here anymore, Kane.”“Me neither.”“How are we supposed to focus when Sierra, Lila, and Zane are out there somewhere? We don’t even know if they’re okay.”“They’re okay,” I said. “They have to be.”Dane turned his head toward me. “So what do we do? Just sit here all day listening to Mr. Evans talk about algebra?”I shook my head. “No. We don’t sit. We move.”His eyes lit up. “You mean… sneak out?”I nodded. “We have to find something. A clue. Anything. The veil has to leave behind traces of magic, right?”“Right,” Dane said quickly. “So we just… slip out during the next period?”“E

MAYAI couldn’t stop crying. My chest aches so badly I thought it might break in half. The pain wasn’t just in my heart, it was everywhere. In my bones. In my skin. Even in my breath.I sat on the couch, clutching Sierra’s favorite sweater like it could somehow bring her back. It still smelled like her, faintly like vanilla and the strawberry lotion she always used. I pressed it to my face, but it only made the tears fall harder. My face was soaked, my cheeks red and raw from wiping them too much. My hair was a tangled mess. I hadn’t looked in a mirror in days. I didn’t care. I couldn’t care.My voice was almost gone, hoarse from screaming into the night, crying out their names, begging for them to come home, for any of them to come home.Thane knelt down in front of me. I didn’t even hear him walk in. He gently took my hands in his, his eyes full of worry and sadness.“Maya…” he said softly, his thumbs rubbing circles on my cold hands. “Please. You need to eat something.”I barely sh

SIERRA“What do you mean you can’t stop Ariel?” I snapped, stepping forward. “You’re the Moon Goddess! Isn’t that your whole thing, protecting balance? Guiding us? Stopping evil?”The glow around her flickered slightly, but her calm face didn’t change.“I understand you’re angry,” she said gently.“Angry?” I scoffed, my hands curling into fists. “No, I’m not angry. I’m furious! My best friend is gone. I’m losing control of my powers. Ariel is probably out there planning her next move, and the one person who’s supposed to help us just stands here glowing and doing nothing.”“I’m trying, Sierra,” she said softly.“Well, it’s not enough!” I shouted. “You said it yourself, Ariel wants to destroy everything. If you really cared, you’d do something about it!”“I would, if I could,” she said, her voice cracking just a little. “But I’m not at my full strength. I haven’t been for a long time.”I stared at her, stunned. “So… you’re weak?”“I’m not what I once was,” she admitted. “I’ve tried eve

SIERRA“Okay,” I finally whispered, wiping my eyes with the back of my hand. My cheeks were still wet, and my throat ached from all the crying. I took a deep breath, trying to push everything down, at least for now. “Let’s go into town.”Lila turned to look at me slowly. Her eyes were full of concern, like she wasn’t sure if I really meant it. “Are you sure?” she asked gently.I nodded, even though I still felt shaky inside. “Yeah. Sitting here, crying all day… it won’t change anything. We need answers. We need to find out what’s really going on.”Lila let out a loud sigh of relief, like she had been holding her breath the whole time. “Thank goodness,” she said. “I thought you were going to cry all day.”I gave a weak smile, barely lifting the corners of my lips. “I almost did,” I admitted quietly. “Honestly, I still feel like crying. But I can’t just stay stuck like this.”“I get it,” she said, moving to stand beside me. “You’ve been through a lot. More than most people could even ha

MAYAI paced across the room, heart pounding so loud I could barely hear the voices around me.We had been arguing, again. About the veil. About destiny. About Sierra. About what she should or shouldn't be.The boys raised their voices. The room was tense. And the Moon Goddess stood still, her light dimming. She hadn’t said a word in minutes.Something felt wrong. My steps slowed.I looked up at her. Her silver eyes weren’t glowing anymore. Just watching me… almost sad.Her lips parted. She whispered, so soft I almost thought I imagined it:“I’m sorry.”Then, she vanished.Vanished. Like mist breaking apart under sunlight.Gone.A cold wind ran down my back.I spun around quickly. My eyes darted to the corner of the room where Sierra had stood only a moment ago.But it was empty.Empty.“Sierra?” I called. My voice cracked. No answer. My chest tightened as panic rose in my throat. I stepped further into the room.“Sierra?! Where are you?”Still nothing. That’s when the screaming start

  • Mated To My Lycan Stepbrothers   Chapter 443

SIERRAMy breath caught in my chest the moment I saw them.A pack of rogues, dozens of them, stepped out of the mist. Huge werewolves, their bodies rippling with muscle, claws digging into the soft, glowing earth. Their sharp teeth gleamed under the faint light of the veil. Their eyes, some yellow, some red, were locked on me and Lila. They circled us slowly, like we were prey. They didn’t bark. They didn’t growl. They just watched.Waiting.I couldn’t move.I couldn’t even breathe properly. The air was thick. My legs felt like they were stuck in place.“Lila….get down,” I whispered, not taking my eyes off the wolves.Lila quickly ducked behind a mossy rock, her small hands gripping its edge.“You can’t fight them alone, Sierra,” she said. “There’s too many.”“I have to try,” I said, even though my voice shook. “I won’t let them touch you.”She didn’t answer, but I could feel her eyes on me. Watching. Worrying.I stood tall, or at least I tried to.I raised my hands in front of me, pa
