Chapter 102

Ava's POV

"I'm not supposed to allow you stay here with him cos he needs a proper rest but I could understand how you feel and how you want to be beside him, so I'll leave you to be with him but make sure not to wake him up. He'll wake up anytime within twenty-four hours," the doctor explained softly.

I nodded quickly, my throat tight. "Thank you so much, Doctor," I whispered.

He gave a small nod, adjusted the stethoscope around his neck, and walked out of the room, the door clicking shut behind him.

I dragged the chair closer to Thorne’s bed and sat down, my knees trembling as I stared at him. His skin was so pale, like all the color had been drained out of him. His chest rose and fell slowly, the only thing reminding me he was still here with me. The IV drips were connected to his wrist, and a little red light blinked on the monitor clipped to his thumb.
