LOGINOlivia's POV:
I swear I saw the look of desire cross in Mark's eyes. His lips parted to say something, but the door swung open and my adopted mother, Nancy, walked in with her daughter, Emily. Their eyes locked on Mark and me, who were together on my bed. *Oh no! Not again,* I wondered, fearing Nancy would attack me. I felt my heart pounding faster in my chest like a trapped bird. To my shock, Nancy didn't yell at me like I had expected her to do. Then I remember Dr. Sam's warning to Mark that he would have his mother arrested for my sake. But that didn't stop her from glaring at me contemptuously. "What's going on here, Mark? Why are you here with Olivia? Shouldn't you be in the basketball court, preparing for your match for today?" Nancy demanded. Her tone was furious as she glared at her son. Mark sighed and replied, "Good morning, Mom. I already called my coach, and he said the match won't start until 12 pm today." His voice was calm, but his mother frowned. "Hmph. So why are you here to check on Olivia? You should stay away from her. You can have any girl in this pack that you want. Why are you hovering around this wolfless girl?" Nancy shouted. "Do you want to bring shame to our family!" My head was aching, and I held it as I remembered each word that Nancy used to hurl insults at me every day of my life. I wasn't the only child born on a moonless night, but I was the only one whose parents rejected me, and I ended up getting adopted by a family that would not fail to taunt me with it. "Mom, you have no right to tell me how I should treat Olivia," Mark interjected. "She is my adopted sister because I have grown up having her around. If you don't have anything good to say, then leave!" He pointed at the door, and my jaw dropped at the force of his command. "What? Mark, are you sending me away because of this slut? You will surely bring her home, and I will deal with her by myself. Let's go, Emily! We shouldn't have come here to check on this slut!" Nancy shouted. Her hand reached to drag her daughter away. Emily wore a short black dress and a pair of brown shoes. She glared at me as our gaze met, but seeing her older brother in the room, she was afraid of Mark, so she held her lips and ran out after her mother. "You don't have to be scared of them," Mark said, his deep voice breaking my chain of thought, but it was not enough to calm my rapid heartbeat. "They're your family, and right! If you keep causing problems for me and your parents, how do you expect me to cope? Just stay away from me!" I cried and yelled at Mark, sending him away too. He can't be acting as if he cared for me when he was obviously making his mother hate me more. "Hey, relax. I am still here. I haven't gone." Mark refused to leave, but I ended up shedding tears and screaming at him, "Get out! Leave me alone!" Doctor Sam and another female nurse came rushing into the room. The door burst open as they entered into the room that I was admitted to. "Mark, what's going on here?" Dr. Sam demanded. "You have to take your leave. You're not helping your adopted sister to recover by staying here? Do you want her to suffer more strain on her head? Leave." Dr. Sam's voice was harsh as he pointed at the door for Mark to leave. Mark looked at me, then at Dr. Sam. "Fine, I will leave," he replied, his voice calm as he walked ahead to the door. Once he reached the door, he pulled it open and exited the room, and I burst out crying on the bed. "It's okay, everything will be fine," Dr. Sam said with a soothing voice, but I didn't want to hear him out. "Everything cannot be fine, Doctor. What do I do if my family sends me away? I have no other family or friends to accommodate me?" I sobbed on the bed. Likewise, I could feel Mark's presence behind the door. Dr. Sam heaved a sigh and asked, "Can you come and stay with me? I can offer you an accommodation at my house." "What? No, I…" Before I could finish my response, Mark stormed back into the room and grasped Dr. Sam by his shirt. He lifted him off the ground with the level of strength that I did not know he had. "You fụcking ásshole. Why are you trying to snatch my adopted sister to come and live with you?" Mark growled. "Mark, let go of Dr. Sam." I yelled at him, shocked by his entrance. Mark glared at Dr. Sam and let go of him. He looked at my face and said, "You shouldn't listen to him. I am sure he has ulterior motives for asking you to come to his house. Don't worry. I will speak to my parents when I get home, and they will not hurt you again. Please..." Mark begged. His yellow eyes locked with my blue eyes, and something in the way he stared at me made me want to believe that he will be able to speak to his family. But wouldn't that worsen the whole situation? As I looked between Mark and Dr. Mark, who adjusted his shirt after Mark had grabbed him. Dr. Sam spoke with a furious voice. "Mark, I do not understand why you are not allowing Olivia to move out of your parents' home." She is almost 18 years old. Or already 18, because we are not so sure of her real date of birth. So, you cannot be a controlling freak of a brother. I am only trying to help her, and your threat won't prevent me from offering help to Olivia. As a doctor, my duty is to save lives. So my offer is still on." " Olivia…" Dr. Sam turned to face me and said, "Whenever you're ready to move out of your adopted parents' home, you can come to my place." My younger sister spoke so much about you and your academic performance. And I will not want your intelligence to go to waste. Therefore, when you feel a need to move out, you can reach out to me." "Hmph…" Mark glared at Dr. Sam, who stood unfazed as he spoke to me softly. "Okay, Doctor... I will consider your offer later. Thank you very much," I replied, feeling relief. Dr. Sam smiled, glared at Mark, and walked out of the hospital room with the female nurse. As the door shut, Mark glanced at me and asked, "You are not serious about moving to his house, right? He's a man. What makes you think that he doesn't have any ulterior motives against you?" I pouted my pink lips, unable to reply, and Mark drew near me on the bed. He suffocated me with his forest grass scent as he said, "Trust me, Olivia. I will speak to my parents, and they will change." "Fine, but if they don't change. I will move out," I replied, shifting my gaze to look at his face. It was so close that I could feel my heart beating faster in my chest.(Summer's POV)“So you didn’t miss me?” Christopher asked as I sat next to him in the large classroom.“I do,” I mumbled, my cheeks flushed.“Great. So what did you keep for me?” Christopher inquired. Before I could reply, our professor stepped in and resumed the lecture for the day.As the day rolled by, it was time for lunch. When I rose to leave my seat, I remembered and pulled out the invitation slip that I had personally saved for Christopher.“Chris, I know that we’re just getting to know each other, but here is an invitation to my banquet,” I said, holding out the slip toward him.Christopher was still sitting, writing some notes he had missed on the day he hadn’t shown up to class.“Oh, Summer. That’s thoughtful of you. My dad spoke to me about the banquet yesterday and how much it meant to your parents. They’ve missed you so much,” Christopher said, looking up at my face. I blushed.“Though my dad already brought two invitations for me and my brother, Enzo, I can’t refuse you
BRYAN:"Bryan, what the hell is Ava talking about?" Mom asked as I walked into the exquisite dining room to greet her."Good morning, Mom," I said with a sigh, trying to evade her question.Mom looked at me furiously. "Morning, but you haven’t answered my question.""Mom, I know you’ll be angry if you find out. That’s why I don’t want to mention it to you," I said, frustrated, as I sat down in the chair across from her.Mom leaned back in her dining chair, looked at my face, and asked, "Who is she?""Mom, let’s not talk about her," I said, glancing over at the maids and signaling one of them to serve me breakfast."Bryan, as your mother and your Luna, I demand to know who she is. How can you be so shameless as to lust after someone’s girlfriend?" Mom pointed out, her tone laced with anger. I lowered my head and avoided her gaze.I knew I deserved all the insults, but it wasn’t my fault. My wolf and I wanted Summer."Bryan, are you listening to me at all?" Mom growled. I raised my head
AVA:Mark peered at me in shock; even Mom was stunned by my attitude and shrieking.“Ava, what has gotten into you? Are you trying to make fun of Mark? There is no smell. What are you talking about?” Mom asked aloud as she glared at me.“Mom, Mark reeks of Summer’s smell,” I pointed out, anger flooding through my veins as Mark sniffed his own shirt to identify the irritating smell I was talking about. However, when he heard me mention Summer’s name, his expression softened as he smiled handsomely, making my heart race, and he admitted, “Summer was with me this morning. She came to visit last night and the rainfall was too much, so I advised her to stay back. That’s why I am bathed in her smell—I didn’t want to bathe or wash it off.”Mom’s jaw dropped, including mine. I could not imagine how insane Mark was to carry a woman’s scent on him. Also, to skip bathing so that he didn’t wash off Summer’s smell.Mom looked at Mark differently as she smiled and asked him, “Do you love Summer tha
AVA:When I woke up in my room, I felt a sharp pain in my stomach and gasped, “Ah!” My belly tightened, making me perspire. In the meantime, I had been sensitive to some smells, some foods, and I knew that these were all the symptoms of the little pup.Damn it. Why can’t I have a quiet abortion? I murmured; all the abortion medicine had been banned and there was no way I could get rid of the baby.Every child’s life matters to my dad—unless the mother’s health was in danger, then he could approve the termination of the pregnancy. My fist clenched as I wanted to punch the little pup away from my belly, but that would be too extreme.Sighing, I moved to the bathroom to soak myself in a large bathtub of warm water. The weather was cool, and I didn’t want to go to the university. Because I had spent so much time sleeping the previous day in the classroom, the majority of the students were beginning to look at me differently.I had to lay low and keep to myself for now, before the news o
SUMMER:The next morning, I woke up in bed and found myself lying close to Mark. He lay shirtless on the bed, and my hand rested around his waist as I snuggled beside him.Smiling, I shifted on the bed and stared at his attractive features for a while. His chest rose and fell heavily.Checking the wall clock, I saw that it was after 6 a.m. So I carefully got out of bed to avoid waking Mark. Then I made my way into the bathroom to bathe.I couldn’t believe that I was back here and that I had spent a night with Mark. Well, knowing that I had to focus on my studies, I quickly stripped off the dress and got into the shower. After bathing, I stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around my chest. When I walked back into the room, Mark was not there—the bed was empty—but he had arranged it to look neat.I moved into the closet to find a dress to wear. My mind bugged me to purchase some new dresses and bring them over to Mark’s place, as it was mostly my old clothes that were stuck in
BRYAN:I could not believe my eyes that Summer was here with Mark. No wonder he wasn’t even planning to apologize to my sister or return to the game to join us for the basketball training ahead of the tournament game we have this coming Saturday.I watched Summer boldly walk up to meet Mark, call him babe, embrace him, and kiss him on his left cheek in my presence. My fist clenched at the sight of them. But I didn’t say anything other than watch her figure hurry upstairs.“What brings you here, Alpha Bryan?” Mark asked, finally shifting his face back to me. His lips curled into a smirk to show me that he had claimed Summer—the girl that I wanted—and there was nothing I could do. I was the Alpha. I had to stand there and watch him do whatever he liked. I could have had the privilege to sue Mark, but I confirmed his report that Wren already sent Summer away. So technically, Olivia was a free bird, and now she has reunited with her family.Clearing my throat to put my anger away, I fixed
SUMMER: "Mom, Dad, Cooper, I am off to school," I informed my parents after I had finished my breakfast at the dining table. I stood up to leave. My hand reaching for my bag that contained my books and the few books that I had borrowed from Christopher. "Alright, Summer. Come on, let me see you o
AVA: In my room, as I lay on my bed, thinking about Mark and if Wren will be able to get Mark to sleep with me. "Ava, that is not going to work. Let's accept to be with Justin. He can help you to hide your secret. At least, until the baby is born," My wolf said, but I shook my head. "I cannot tru
AVA: As I drove back home, beads of sweat marred my forehead. "What's wrong with me?" I muttered, sensing that I was in heat. "Who did I do?" Ever since I got pregnant by Wren, I was in heat, wanting to mate with any available male that I can find nearby. My eyes scanned my surroundings, as I kn
SUMMER: "Welcome, brothers," I greeted my triplet brothers as they strode into the living room. They wore similar red shirts and black trousers, with pairs of polished black shoes. "Thanks, Sister. How was your day? We heard that Mark took you to the woods and shifted with you?" Carter asked me fi
