Chapter 6

**Mia's POV**

"Why am I not happy that Leon said he will only treat me as his stepsister? Why do I feel sad?" I asked myself sadly as I sat on the black couch in the living room, waiting for my mother to return.

The living room, painted white, featured a flat-screen television, an built-in aquarium, a beautiful home theater, flower vases, and lighting that beautified the space.

"It's because they're your mates. You need to calm down, Mia, and follow your heart. You cannot reject them; otherwise, you'll be miserable," the gentle voice whispered back, terrified that I might reject her too.

"Who are you?" I asked, trying not to be alarmed by the voice speaking to me, unsure whether it belonged to a human or a spirit.

"I'm Molly. Your wolf."

"My wolf?" I asked, doubt lacing my voice. My body trembled at the realization that I was truly a werewolf and that my mother was right about my ability to shift between wolf and human form.

"Yes," Molly replied, her soft voice purring in my head.

"Do you want to shift into me? We can run through the woods and join the others. Those triplets are yours and will become your mates once you turn eighteen," Molly said softly, leaving me speechless.

"Mia," Mom said as she returned with the photo album, gently descending the stairs while holding it in her hand.

Mom was still dressed in her white nightdress that exposed her thighs, but she had thrown on her long, flowing jacket and tied it at the front.

As she approached me at the couch, Mom said, "Here's the album I want to show you. This was me when I turned sixteen and met my wolf, Kalani. I was so excited that I could shift like the rest of our pack members. And this is your father when I turned eighteen and met him. We were studying at White Hills Academy back then. Your father was very busy with his research even as a young man, but I loved him and thought he would stay. I am a white wolf, while he's brown. So I think you'll have a white wolf too, given that you resemble me. Here, have a look."

Mom handed over the photo album, showing me pictures of herself, her older brother, Blake, his wife, Lana, and their two pups, Veronica and Godwin.

"So, Mom, Veronica is a werewolf too?" I asked her, my eyes widening in shock as she pointed to a picture of my two cousins.

"Yes. Veronica is a werewolf, and she's seventeen years old just like you. Hopefully, she'll turn eighteen this year and find her mate."

"Mmm," I frowned, knowing Veronica was one of the slaves at White Hills Academy throwing themselves at the Triple L.

"Mom, Veronica and I aren't close. She doesn't treat me like I'm her cousin. She always acts superior, like she's better than me," I said after closing the album.

Mom frowned and asked me, "Do you want me to call Veronica tomorrow and speak with her so she gets along with you?"

"No need, Mom. I have a good friend, Vivian Adams. But I'm afraid she might be a werewolf too, even though she never told me anything about wolves."

"I assume she didn't want to scare you," Mom said softly.

I nodded and replied calmly, "Maybe."

"Thank you, Mom, for telling me about myself. But I still have a hard time believing that I'm truly a werewolf," I said just as my mother rose from the couch beside me, holding the photo album.

"It's fine, Mia. Once my parents return, we can have a family gathering. They traveled to China for vacation, and I don't know when they'll be back. We'll host a big family reunion, and maybe I'll introduce you to everyone. I'll call my mother to tell her about the wedding with Alpha David; I'm sure they won't miss it," Mom said about her parents, and I smiled.

"Alright, Mom. It's late. Let me go to my room and sleep. Goodnight," I replied, following my mother upstairs.

She went into her room to join Alpha David, and I heard his deep voice as he spoke to someone on the phone inside.

Sighing, I walked into my bedroom adjacent to my mother's. I shut the door and looked at my reflection in the mirror.

"Molly," I called my wolf while gazing at my reflection in the wide mirror.

"Yeah, I'm here. Do you want to shift into me?" Molly asked calmly.

"No," I replied softly, watching my eyes glow blue in the mirror.

"Did I just do that?" I gasped.

Molly replied, "Yeah."

"What else can I do? Like magic?" I asked Molly, my voice full of curiosity.

"You can shift, talk to someone through mindlink, and heal faster," Molly said, and I found it fascinating.

"Alright. Give me an update later. Right now, I need to sleep and hope I'm not dreaming. Tomorrow is Saturday, so I won't be going to the academy," I said, feeling relieved as I went into the bathroom to relieve myself. Ever since I returned from the academy, I hadn't even taken my evening bath.

"What about the Triple L? Are you going to reject them?" Molly asked fearfully.

"I don't know how to deal with them. How can I have three boyfriends? Besides, my mother is going to marry their father. I'm sure Mom won't approve of them," I said, making Molly groan.

"Then don't support your mother's wedding," she said.

"Well, I want my mother to be happy, and the only thing that could stop her wedding is if my father returns. If Dad doesn't return, there's no way for me to stop the wedding or get along with the triplets. They're bullies too," I said, and Molly groaned again.

"Can't you call your dad and tell him to come back? Tell him your mother is going to marry Alpha David; you'll see your dad return immediately," Molly said, but I knew that was impossible.
