Sierra

Sierra

Soaked in the silence and hot tears that stumbles helplessly down my cheeks, I buried my face in Mrs.Ruby’s chest crying my heart out.

The embarrassment that washed me over after the unfortunate encounter with the twin alphas was deeper than I thought.

The same male protectors of mine who tackled my bullies to the ground when we were kids now say mean words to me.

My twin best friends that protected me like a treasure has grown uncaring to even see me naked.

The walls of my chest suddenly become constricted as the good memories invaded my consciousness, reminding me that the sweet moment might never come back.

“Everything is going to be fine Sierra...” Mrs. Ruby said as she slightly strokes my hair and rubbed my back with her palm to soothe the excruciating pain I'm feeling at the moment.

After crying my eyes out, I picked my clothes and Mrs. Ruby helped me up on my feet.

I apologized for causing her worry but she remained silent, watching me carefully with those pitiful eyes.

I knew what her eyes are saying, she needed not to say it out.

“I was shocked...” the words came out but nothing more, even though I wanted to say more to convince her that I would not cause her worry. Indeed, I guess I looked that weak compared to the thoughtless wolfless girl that comes seeking justice.

“I won't cause you any more trouble, I promise,” I said affirmatively.

“The Alphas leave their main mansion in an hour, you can go then to clean it up. Try your best to avoid them in the meantime” She said to me.

“I would like to help you with their schedules and other important things to know about them but we both know that won't be possible, they are not the same Alphas we know” she added.

I nodded my head when words failed me at the realization that dawned on me.

My head snapped immediately in fear when a knock came on the door. My heartbeat increased and I stepped back in apprehension.

Are they back to scold me for reporting late to duty? Do I fear them that much now?

Mrs. Ruby took my hands into hers and gently pats them to calm me down.

“This won’t help anyone Si… I’m giving you tonight to have a rethink” she said to me, her brows creased with worry.

And then she spun around to walk towards the door. To my surprise, she left immediately without exchanging words with the visitor. She seems to be expecting someone to begin with.

Mrs.Ruby was right… I can’t continue to be like this but the more I tried to control myself and act brave, my legs turn to jelly at the very presence of the scary faces of the Alphas.

I lazily put on my clothes and used my hand to untangle my hair as I sauntered toward the front door.

I can’t act brave… I should be brave! I must brace myself for anything coming my way now!

I said to myself with my eyes closed and realized that there was no way to extricate myself from this situation!

After a moment of affirmation, I opened the door and left for the Alphas mansion looking like a mess with my chaotic wet hair.

No one was nice to offer me a brush or a dry towel, I could not stay a second longer at the private house that the Alphas used this morning not to dare to rummage around for a brush.

I could hear whispering and curses from the pack members. Heard that the fake rumor was passed around every year and now the VVIP of the event is right here in the pack.

What do I expect?

I strongly believe in my parents and I’m happy Mrs. Ruby believed they were innocent too therefore, that’s enough for me to walk with my head straight and shoulders high.

Sighs… words sound better as a thought than putting it into action.

It's been a week and I haven't heard anything from my secret helper, what if he|she abandons me for being weak? Could it be possible that I didn't receive another letter cause I've not proved myself worthy?

Just when I raised my head trying to walk free and proud, my eyes met with one of the pack members who’s an old man and his face mirrors nothing but hatred for me.

I know him… I recognized him to be Mr.Jude of the oak tree house. He used to give me lots of cookies with the twin Alphas after he tells us a story… I bet he’s dying to rip me into shreds and collect his cookies back from my gut.

Oh no! I shuddered at the thought and increased my steps.

I have no idea where the Alphas mansion is and now someone is lost.

Just when I was about to start roaming around the area, a voice called out to me, almost like a question.

“Sierra?” The voice called, carefully and softly.

My body felt hot and I remained glued on the spot without turning my back to my caller.

I wasn’t expecting anyone to call my name any sooner not to mention In a secluded area like this.

“It’s me, Evie,” the voice said again and this time it sounded more familiar.

When the realization hits me, I spun around immediately to find pairs of the most beautiful green eyes staring at me with love and affection.

“Evie?” I called out with uncertainty. I didn’t want to get ahead of myself… what if she hates me like the rest.

But to my surprise, she ran into my embrace sobbing so loud and Squeezing me tight in her embrace.

“Evie… I… you can’t be seen with me” I said with tears pooling in my eyes ready to fall.

“No Sierra, I’m so sorry I could not do anything. I was too scared to say anything… my dad forbade me from trying to help. I so much missed you Si” she cried out.

“What are you talking about Evie? Talk as how?” I asked as I slowly pulled away from the hug.

She seems caught up in her thoughts as she spaced out for a few seconds after my question but I’m still confused by her words.

“I believe your parents were innocent back then and I will do anything in my power to help you here Sierra, I promise,” she said with her hand tightly squeezing mine.

My heart felt at peace hearing that from a childhood friend. Evie was a friend of mine but she never was allowed to hang out with me back then as I was always with the twin Alphas. I was the beta’s daughter and hence had the access to the higher levels while she was an Omega.

She was always so understanding and never hated me for being such a bad friend.

“Mrs.Ruby asked me to help you out today,” she said with a wide smile.

Meanwhile, I could not stop looking at her in amazement… there was someone who still likes me as a friend.

She pressed her hands to my cheeks, her hand feels rough and weird... Her little finger was missing.

My eyes widened in surprise and my mouth opened up to address the issue but she nodded her head sideways, her eyes swam with tears asking me not to say a word about it.

“It's nothing Sierra, I'm an Omega and I had to prove myself useful to stay in the pack as a normal member and not a slave.” she explained.

“This is too much to be done to you by the pack that should protect you! Who did this to you?” I asked in anger.

“I lost it when training with Alpha Arnold.” she said.

“Arnold did that to you? Just because you're an Omega! Is this how he treats every Omega in his pack? His father never treated his people this way” I spat put in disgust.

“Watch what you say Sierra” she whispered to me as she cranes her head looking around for people.

“If you can still remember Mopheus, there is rumor that he secretly rules the pack instead of the Twin Alphas. Morpheus enemy is the Alphas enemy so please erase any silly emotions you might feel and try to survive here first.” She said.

From her words, I could tell it’s only a matter of time they find out that I have no wolf hence validating my death sentence.

“I’ll start with Alpha Aiden,” she said and my inside flipped at the mention of his name.

“Although the Alphas handle the Pack’s affairs together they each have their parts to contribute. Alpha Aiden wakes up early around 3 to do his morning run, after that he leads a patrolling team to check the borderline for traces of rogues. And the rest of the duties like making decisions, signing papers, warrior guides and authorities, and all other activities are being handled by the two Alphas.

Off to Alpha Arnold…” she said and she paused right after saying his name.

“He’s in charge of the pack’s training, Alpha Aiden only helps out sometimes when he so wishes.” And that was everything she said about Arnold.

“What? That’s it? Why so short and dreadful?” I asked.

“They are not the same… anyway let’s continue,” she said with a dismal wave of her hands.

She grabbed my hand pulling me away from the secluded area with a cheerful smile on her face.

“You should try to be on your best behavior okay? The twin Alphas are so scary when they are angry. It’s like they are possessed or something…” she stopped amidst her words again.

At this point, I prefer her not to say a word than the suspense she’s been giving off.

I need no one to tell me how dangerous the Alphas are.

She explained to me about the Alphas' girlfriends. How Morpheus introduced them to these ladies even without being mated to any of them.

She told me of their predicament, about how they’ve failed to find their mates all this while.

Something in me feels bad for them but at the same time, I was happy not to be the only one with no mate at this age.

But then another thought proved me wrong, they’ve met their wolfs but I’m wolfless!

We soon arrived at the Alphas Mansion and the moment I step on the porch, I was welcomed with a strong splash on my face. One, two, and the third splash which bruised my face.

Evie immediately stepped away from me in fear.

I closed my eyes with my hand over my face to shield myself from the attack. It smells like an egg.

“Hey, you traitor” a female voice rang out from the door.

I was not used to being bullied apart from the Alphas' recent attitudes clouded by their sense of entitlement.

I’ve survived a week in this pack with just dirty stares and pranks but nobody had the gut to bully me straight up… now who might this be?

Before I could remove the egg shells on my face and hair, she closed the distance between us and kicked me in the stomach. I fell to the ground roughly.

I yelped out in pain with my hand clutching my stomach.

When I fell, an unfamiliar memory flashed across my tightly shut eyes.

A memory? No that doesn’t feel familiar.

I saw myself in a forest covered in blood and sweat and that was all.

The figure that kicked me finally came into view, I knew it was a female but seeing her now I suspect she must be Jennifer according to Evie’s description.

“I’m trying my best to stay off trouble” I muttered in pain.
