Pack Rules

***Freya's POV***

“What?” The Alpha muttered while staring at me in a daze.

“Alpha, please don't pay heed to her words. She's strangely stubborn and does things on a whim. You must not listen to her words, please,” my uncle begged.

“You don't need to plead. I like girls like her. Especially those who believe they are strong until I slowly break off their confident wings, so they can't fly anymore.”

“Get her!”

The Alpha ordered and immediately, the soldiers who had initially dragged me out of the pack house came at me.

I cannot be taken away from my father's pack this way.

Just as I was about to be dragged away. I instantly shifted into my wolf and growled out loud. Everyone present, including my uncle, ran back into the pack house blocking his ears with his palm. My growls were poisonous to the ears. I don't know how I became this way, but it's something I've lived with since I turned eighteen.

I continued to growl, hoping this will make the enemies flee, but I was shocked that while the soldiers of the enemy all blocked their ears, the Alpha, and his beta stared at me without moving an inch or covering their ears.

“What is she? A gray wolf?”

“How is this possible?” Both brothers asked in shock. But how come they are immune to my growls.

“Seems we are the only ones who can do the job ourselves. Go get her Tyler.”

Just as the brother came towards me, I knew I was done for. The best thing to do is run.

Immediately, I turned around and ran towards the direction of the woods.

Just when I thought I was escaping, I heard heavy paws hitting trees behind me. I turned around to take a peek at what it was and to my greatest shock, it was a huge brown wolf coming towards me with the speed of light.

I instantly increased my running speed, but that didn't take long before I got bracketed by the huge brown wolf.

Knowing I had no way of escape, I decided to fight with all I had. Just then, the wolf shifted to his human form and to my shock, it was Alpha Tristan's brother.

“Hey, I know you think running away will save you, but I can assure you that Tristan won't let you go.”

What is he talking about. Wasn't he here to take me by force?

“You feel wronged and offended because we invaded your pack and want to take you as a slave, but I can promise you one thing.”

What? Was he kidding with me right now?

I can't communicate with him in my wolf form, and neither can I trust him. But then, I'm well aware that my poisonous growls don't work on him. And neither can I fight him.

After contemplating for a minute, I shifted into my human form.

“Aren't you here to take me with you? Why bother trying to reason with me when you won't let me go?”

“Will you believe me if I tell you that I don't intend to capture you?”

“It not, why are you here?”

“Because he's the Alpha and I can't disobey him. If you come with me willingly, I can assure you that you wouldn't suffer as you think you would.”

I couldn't help but chuckle hard at his words.

“Very impressive! But let me say this, I don't trust you and I will never let you get me. I would rather die than let you take me away!”

“Then you should wait until I can hold a befitting funeral for you.”

Someone said behind me. I quickly turned around and was shocked to see Alpha Tristan. I trembled in fear, knowing there's no escape for me.

“I like that you're brave, but sadly, being brave alone will not save you.”

I clenched my hands into a fist, and shut my eyes to take a deep breath. Like I said, I'll rather die than let them take me away to become a slave.

As soon as I opened my eyes, I charged towards Tristan with all my might.

“Arrgh!” I yelled as I aimed for his neck, but before I could get to my destination, he charged towards me and all he did was hit me on the shoulders and I immediately blacked out.

**

I woke up with a terrible headache, but that wasn't the pressing issue, it was the fact that my legs and hands feet heavy. Why do I feel restrained? I opened my eyes fully and tried to get up from the bed I realized I was laying on, but feel back down.

What is going on?

I quickly looked at my side and noticed I was tied up tightly.

I looked downwards and noticed the same thing.

Just as I was about to process what was actually going on, I suddenly got a recollection of me charging towards Tristan only to get hit on the shoulders.

My goodness! I passed out and got tied up?

I looked around the room I was tied in, but found nothing familiar about the room. It was a plain room with no furniture.

Simply, but, the room looked more like a prison than fitting for a normal person to live in.

No way! It can't be what I'm thinking. At that moment, the door to my room flew open and someone walked in. To my shock, it was Tristan, who swaggered towards me with a tray in hand. But there's something different about him. He looked quite shaven, unlike the rough man I saw at the pack. His hair was neatly styled and some strands of hair rested on his face, almost close to his eyes.

He wore a rugged Jean with a white shirt. Seeing him this way, one would think he can never hurt a fly.

“Good thing you're awake. You should have dinner,” he said with a voice that held no emotions, even though he looked different now.

“I'm not hungry. And why the hell did you tie me up?”

“Listen, you're in my pack and there are rules here. Firstly, you don't talk unless I ask you a question. Secondly, you don't ask questions but do exactly as I say. And lastly, you don't get to leave my pack unless I allow you. Those who leave without permission are chased by my loyal tracers and guess what, their dead bodies are brought back to the pack, just in case they resist.”
