Kai's POV*

I'm losing my fucking mind.

Amber isn't just restless anymore. He's eating me alive from the inside, clawing at my ribs, screaming in my head every second of every day.

"MATE! WHERE IS MATE!"

"Shut up," I growl, pressing the palms of my hands against my temples.

But he won't shut up. He never shuts up anymore.

It's been three days since Ethan took her. Three days of pure hell.

I haven't slept more than an hour at a time. When I do manage to drift off, I dream of her golden eyes looking at me with hurt and disappointment. I wake up shaking, my sheets soaked with sweat.

Food tastes like ash. Everything smells wrong. My hands won't stop trembling.

"FIND HER! CLAIM HER! FIX THIS!"

"I can't!" I slam my fist into the wall, leaving another dent.

The guys avoid me now. Even Marcus, who's usually fearless, keeps his distance. They can smell the instability rolling off me in waves.
