DONOVAN’S POV

As I wait gingerly for Alexis’ return, I brace myself for whatever I have in mind to say. Which in all honesty, I was a completely blank mind.

At this point, I am beginning to question why I had asked to see her in the first place.

Perhaps I wanted to have a moment with the one who is supposed to be my mate and future luna?

Short, precise footsteps near me, and I raise my gaze from the table to see Alexis walking towards me. When she is a foot from me, I gesture to the empty seat directly in front of me, and she hesitantly sits on it. It is obvious that I am the last person she wants to be with.

A feeling of inferiority suddenly washes through me at the thought. Is she scared of me? Does she not like me like the other girls?
