ALEXIS’ POV

I eye Freeda with so much disdain as she blushes and giggles on the phone. With a ghost of a boyfriend.

Again!

Like always, she offers me her annoying apologetic smile and blows a kiss my way. I raise a middle finger in return, and she laughs and turns her attention back to her phone again.

I curl my fist in a tight ball, and like always, a part of me tells me to report her to Macy. But like always, the consideration that she might end up getting fired crosses my mind, and I groan lowly and almost tear my face apart at how soft and thoughtful I am. A character that ends up causing me inconvenience every single time.

Almost an hour later, I am relieved when she finally ends her long phone call and resumes her duty, leaving me to take orders and serve them.

When I go to her counter to take the order for another customer, she tells me with gleaming excited eyes.

“Leonard is the boyfriend material!” She is almost squealing as she says. “He got us tickets to Dance and Couples
