Laurel Monterello's POV

"You are hurting me!" I pulled away from his tight grasp as I massaged the sore spot. The reddish skin hurt though it healed almost immediately as I growled at him.

He didn't apologize as he faced me head-on. "What was that?"

"What was what?"

"That." He pointed at my arm while passed him a lost look. "You were a little too close to that enforcer, don't you think?"

"And this concerns you?" I rolled my eyes. I was getting fed up with his mixed signals. He wanted me one second and loathed me the next. A girl can only handle so much.

"I-

I cut him off. "You don't seem to care about what happens with me. If you had no plans of taking me to the infirmary, why did you bother?" I walked away and soon, he fell at my side.

"Let me help you."

Not a word was uttered as we got to the pack doctor. A frail woman welcomed us as she pulled me to the side, asking Tommaso to wait outside. I took a good look at her to find scratch marks around her eyes, likely from battle wounds
